Attitude from the employee at the salad stand (the woman acted like we - and every other customer - were doing her a diservice by being there, and was selective in for whom/when she'd actually choose to chop a salad), and all-around slow service makes this location my least favorite Au Bon Pain downtown.Au Bon is never exactly the ideal get-what-you-pay-for food option available, but when you tack on poor service, it's hard to justify. Generally speaking, if I'm at Au Bon (and the like) for lunch, odds are good that I don't have a lot of time to waste. When it takes nearly 20 minutes to get a basic sandwich, there's simply no way I can make this location a regular option, nor recommend it unless you're just doing grab-and-go (which is really what Au Bon Pain is good at anyway).

Au Bon Pain is located very close to my workplace, so I drop by for lunch pretty frequently. Though overpriced (priced similarly to Panera without the quantity or quality), I like that I can get there without going outside, which is perfect for a rainy or snowy day. I recommend their Egg and Cheese breakfast sandwiches or the Chicken Caesar wrap. I feel like these two items are better values for the money than some other things on the menu. Also, make sure to try their Peach Sweet Tea. Sooo good! I don't want to know how much sugar they put in it though!

I had a breakfast meeting at Au Bon Pain. There are several things to like about this place. First, it is easily accessible from the highway. It's also located conveniently around a lot of public parking. The food was good and they had some nice healthy options.A couple of things to note. Perhaps it's only me, but I found the building to be a bit on the warm side. I was in suit and it was rather uncomfortable. The prices weren't as outrageous as I thought they would be based on other reviews, but they are a little on the steep side. All and all, if you're looking for a quick cup of coffee or breakfast in downtown this isn't a bad place to check out.

I came down with a cold over the weekend which resulted in an unwanted 3 day weekend. I ended up coming back to work Tuesday but still didn't feel top-notch. By lunch time, all i wanted was some good ol' soup. Since I work nearby the Oxford Center, I decided on Au Bon Pain. The were advertising a half sandwich or wrap + small soup for $6.99. I asked the cashier, Tess, what this consisted of and she mentioned everything but breakfast sandwiches. I also asked if there happen to be anymore Chicken Dumpling soup because it looked great but was nearly empty. Tess ran back to take look while I ordered my sandwich (Turkey Cubano- yum!) She came back and said that it was the last of the chicken dumpling, but she would kindly take it to the back and put it in a bowl for me since it wasn't possible with a giant ladle. She came not too much later and said that her boss offered the soup for free since I had to wait (it wasn't even long) ! I told her 3 times she didn't have to do that, but she insisted! My turkey cubano sandwich was delicious and the soup helped me feel better. Amazing customer service as well especially during a lunch rush!

I had the southwest chicken salad. The ingredients were pretty fresh considering the salad was made earlier in the day. The chicken was a touch slimy. I thought the price was fair overall. The check out line went fast even though it was lunch time. I liked that there is seating both inside and outside. My biggest gripe was the garbage. It was completely full so I had to walk around to find an empty one and then return my tray.

I work at a local hotel in the downtown PGH area. I had a guest who had a special occasion for a dozen fresh chocolate chip cookies. When I first called the 5th street location on Smithfield and asked them they told me they were out of cookies for the day (it's a freaking bakery). When I called MIKE at the 301 Grant St. location he offered to bake us fresh cookies. My guest was very happy with this service as was I. Yay!

It's easy to overlook chain establishments when it comes to writing a Yelp review, but I want to show some love to this particular Au Bon Pain location. Up until this week, I worked just down the block from this one. I was always impressed by how consistently pleasant the staff is. Seriously, anytime I came in--be it first thing in the morning, or in the middle of lunch rush, the employees at the check out are always friendly and patient. I already like the food, so the differentiator is the people. Now that I'm in a different office location, I must go to the ABP on Penn Ave, and to be honest, I'm a little nervous. Will they be as nice?

First time trying this place. It's very overpriced in my opinion. I could've bought all the ingredients for $7 and made this sandwich myself and had enough ingredients for a week. That said, it was pretty tasty. I got the turkey with Brie and apricot mustard on binoche. $7 for such a small sandwich. I may go back to try other things as they have some good looking desserts.

I am a partner in a law firm in Oxford Center and am generally very happy with this restaurant. They have a good lunch selection and overall fantastic customer service. However, there is a significant problem that myself and several of my other female colleagues have experienced - the woman responsible for making the sandwiches is extremely rude to professional women. Specifically, she has yelled at us while we are placing our orders, she has mocked us, and most recently she told us to leave the establishment because she was not interested in completing our order. I've been experiencing this type of behavior for at least 3 months, but after this morning it was necessary to at least place a review on yelp.

I eat here quite a bit because it's one of the few choices to eat during a work day. I really like the food and there are a lot of different options so I choose to keep going back.If there was another Au Bon Pain convenient to my office, I would stop going to this one. The girls that work the cash register are very nice to me. But the women that work behind the counter making the salads and sandwiches really do have the most terrible attitude. Really. If I didn't go there on a regular basis, I'd complain about it to a manager because it bothers me that much. They roll their eyes at me. They make me stand there for extended periods of time while they are doing other work. I have made efforts to be friendly with them in hopes that maybe it would change, but they must just be miserable human beings. The huff at me for making them do the job they are suppose to do. Its not like I expect a song and a dance along with my food. But I really don't like spending my money in a place that makes me feel like I am annoying them everytime I go in there.
