If you want GOOD Chinese food then this is the place to get it from. They make everything fresh and we have enjoyed their vegetable rolls, chicken wonton soups, and sweet and sour chicken with brown rice or the beef broccoli too! We also had lots veggie takeout during lent too. Always so filling! It's delicious, good portion sizes and decently priced. Highly recommend!

Very good local Chinese restaurant run by a local family. I've ate here a few times and the quality is always good. The online ordering could use some help because the order I got was wrong because items were combined and I got pork instead of chicken but I'm glad it got messed up because I've never tried the pork with broccoli and it was really good too.

Sweet and sour chicken is always my marker for any good Chinese place and Asian Star has fantastic sweet and sour chicken! There isn't anything on menu I don't like. Best Chinese around for miles in this part of PA.

I took my dog to the groomer and was going to go to my normal Kiyoshi but traffic was backed up on the bridge and I didn't want to deal. My next stop was Wendy's but I saw this place and checked reviews. Not too bad on yelp so I went in. I actually broke my own rule which is - if the place isn't busy...run away. It was early afternoon so I just assumed many folks just weren't there yet. 1. Sesame chicken - I've never had a clear/light brown sauce served with my Sesame chicken, typically its very dark and pretty thick. 2. Fried Rice - ummm much more like yellow rice with veggies which is fine with me but this wasn't even mall-chinese fried rice.3. Spring Roll - Well it wasn't bad but it wasn't good either. I ate it - not much of it but I ate it. I'll never do that again.....I was later paying for breaking my rules and eating at an establishment with no customers. Let's just say I didn't move too far from the loo.

I ate here one evening when I had a taste for Chinese food, and I lived to regret it. I had a friend springroll, honey chicken, and fried rice. I don't know which one of three of them did me in in the end, only that I went to a party afterwards and couldn't touch anything other than water. It's not just because I wasn't particularly hungry, but my stomach was pretty tortured and unpleasant. Was it worth it? No; the chicken sauce was *way* too sweet, and the fried rice and springroll were nothing special. There's not even enough ambiance in the dining area to be a little bit charming. Sadly, this was a total miss for me.

Ok so the first time we got take out from here it was lunchtime & the food was pretty good. We decided to try it for dinner & it was gross, all of it. My miso soup tasted like turpentine, we ended up throwing all of it away except for the white rice. Not doing that again.

A rule of product design - you can choose for two out of the following three: cost, speed, and quality. Asian Star goes for low cost and speed. There should have been nothing surprising about that given the setting of the restaurant. I had hoped for better on quality from all the four and five star reviews on Yelp.I went on a slow night and perhaps the chefs were just off their game that other people are praising. But no family member could make it through more than a few bites of our entrees. Far too greasy and breaded: a flavor-free zone which made for a very unappetizing experience.

I was pleasantly surprised with the food at Asian Star! My boyfriend has been picking up their shrimp lo mein for the last year or so. The shrimp lo mein is fabulous. I really like it for it's addition of bamboo and the lack of mushrooms. That being said, a week or so ago, we ordered a handful of their items which my family was very pleased with. We ended up ordering the shrimp lo mein, the hunan beef, moo goo gai pan and the sauteed broccoli. It was all very good! I would definitely order from them again! The owners are always very pleasant! I think this restaurant is a great alternative to the other Chinese restaurant in the Sewickley area.

Great food, friendly people. This is my go to Chinese restaurant and it never fails. The seating area is not very big but it's always clean and inviting inside.

We are always so pleased with the quick service and cleanliness and friendliness. The food is very good as are the portions. I work and grew up in the restaurant business and am picky and critical- this place is solid.
