I visited the food truck at a private event. I ordered a gyro with a side of baba ghanoush. The gyro meat was a thick cut. The baba ghanoush was decent. I also ate a piece of falafel from a friend. I saw they were making that fresh. It was a decent meal. Not the best in town, but it was pretty good.

Hands down the ABSOLUTE BEST gyro I have had! Lamb was so tender and chopped not in strips so it remained moist. The sauce was tasty and not overwhelming. And the pita WOW!!!!DO NOT PASS THE TRUCK.

I was at Helicon Brewing yesterday for the Helicon Open 2019 Pinball tournament (which ran for four days, and I was there each day as a tournament player (didn't win any money or a trophy, but I had a ton of fun!)), and the food truck on location for Sunday was Ash & Kris Kitchen. This was my first time trying this truck, and they serve Levantine (Middle Eastern style food from the Levant region) food. I enjoyed meeting the owner, Ashraf, "Ash," and we struck up some good conversation while he cooked my food. I had the Falafel plate, which is served over rice (the rice was very good by the way, not just a typical bland white rice, but this rice had a very nice flavour), and included lettuce, tomato, Tzatziki sauce, and stuffed grape leaves. I also had the Baba Ghounosh (Moutabel) eggplant dip, which was served with local pitas from Pitaland Bakery in the South Hills, and it was also very good. I enjoyed my lunch, and I would definitely eat this food again, or maybe try some of the other choices on the menu next time I see this truck in the area ... Cheers!P.S. I deducted one star, because I felt my platter should have had a few pickles, pickled turnips, or olives on the side (but I still enjoyed it very much)!

Our neighborhood got to experience Greek food at its best yesterday. The meat was extremely flavorful and tender for both the Chicken Shawarma and Gyro with rice. The yellow rice was amazing too and perfect with the salad and tzatziki sauce they came with! Though it was the first time our neighborhood experienced them, it won't be the last!

Had the opportunity to try Ash & Kris Kitchen. The Baklava is delicious. My gyro was good but the meat was in cubes and some of the cubes had a side that was definitely overcooked and very hard. Had to take a few of the cubes out. Ended up eating with a fork because it fell apart. There was a line and little wait but it did not take to long to get our food. You can find the events schedule on facebook @ Ash&KrisKitchen.

Their food truck comes to my business complex 1-2 times monthly. I love their baklava it is much larger than I am used to but equally good. The chicken and rice is very delicious. Today I had their gyro but I prefer the gyro with no pita so its more or less a salad. If you ask for no pita, they will give you lettuce, tomato, onions with the gyro meat on top and gyro sauce on the side. Their gyro meat is not shaved as most gyro meat is, it is in cubes as pictured in my review. I thought it was strange at first as it was the first time I had the cubes but now I prefer them! You can taste the meat so much better with cubes and it is delicious. I guess the first reviewer had a bad batch or not sure but my gyro meat has always been thoroughly cooked and tender. This is one of the better food trucks in Pittsburgh area. It is $8 for gyros but well worth it and the man working the truck is friendly/nice. I am always amazed he works the truck by himself and still manages to get all orders in less than 10 mins.

First time trying this food truck. I love the Mediterranean food trucks in the area (as we have so few brick and mortar Mediterranean restaurants!!). I thought I had tried them all but then this one popped up where I was and had to try. I got the gyro platter. The price was good and the portion was quite large. Definitely 5 stars there. The food was decent too. I just took a star off for lack of variety. I would have liked a chicken gyro option. There was a shawarma but the inclusions were different so I went with the gyro. The pita was warm and lovely and the tzatziki and gyro meat were good. I'd definitely try again!

Had the opportunity to dine from Ash & Kris food truck! Totally enjoy the gyro! Loved that they used chunks of meat instead of slices! Also enjoyed some of their marinated chicken with rice! They are available for hire at a neighborhood event as well!
