Apres ski bar really cool vibe and well decorated with apres ski in mind. Cool corners with chairs adorned as if you're in a lodge in Swiss alps or ski resorts out west.Just cocktail drinks, beer & wines!Staff was friendly but will check ID at gate and cool smart phone ordering or coded...

Love the concept of a winter Apres Ski "hang-out". Nice variety of "Alpine snacks" or group shared foods like Cheese Board, Charcuterie, or if you can't choose between the two, get a Smorgasbord and you get a combo of both! Another option is one of my New Year Eve favorites: fondue--cheese (gruyere & raclette) where you can add in truffles too--mmm. Or a heartier and unique one is their Cheese Steak fondue. If you have more exquisite desires, there is Paté de Foie Gras, Caviar, Steak Tartare or even oysters on the half shell! And finally, there is pork schnitzel, mussels, a ham plate, and truffle salted pomme frites (fries).Unfortunately my stomach was full, but I was able to try their Snowball in Montego Bay--Jamaican clove smoked rum, rosemary, cinnamon, coconut, honey and banana and apple cider. All with a "snowball" in your mug. Clever concept.Others tried "Back at the Lodge" (burbon), , and "Double Diamond" (warmed rum)).Great place to enjoy libations and food, with energetic music in a fun and comfortable setting. Just wish I had an empty stomach (they were booked when we stopped by initially for pre-show eating and did not have time to wait). Hope to go back before April since that likely may be when this transitions out into something else? Who knows for sure (back to Butcher and the Rye?), but I am sure it will be fabulous!

Had a truly fabulous time at Apres Ski! It's the perfect place to go for a romantic date night or a gathering with friends to feel like you're up in a chalet at a ski resort. The decor was a lot of fun and really added to the experience. I was lucky enough to purchase a "ski pass" when it was on sale, meaning it was easier for me to snag a reservation and we got a bottle of Moët! The food and drinks were all fantastic. My favorite would have to be the fondue (soooo many delicious dippers!) and honestly all of the drinks were tasty and perfect for winter weather. One was like a hot toddy, served in adorable tea china. They accept some walk ins, usually right when they open at 5, but I would try to make a reservation if you're looking for anything later than that or with a larger party (they will only seat up to 6 people so be sure to narrow that guest list to your favorite ski buddies.) And if you want to feel like you're in college again, definitely do a shot ski! Cheers!

So here's my MO. Whenever I go somewhere, I always ask the server for a recommendation. Why? Because they're the experts! Also, I've a hard time making decisions so I'm cheating! DRINKS: something sweet and or fruit. FOOD: what would you feed a hungry football player? Someone who likes savory/ flavorful dishes but can't do "too spicy."Now that you know, we can continue our tipsy yelping. UPDATE: Butcher and the Rye closed 12/2020 due to covid-19 pandemic's tour of fine dining destruction. The location reopened 12/02/22 as Apres Ski Bar while the Butcher and Rye concept is reignited. ~~~~~~~~~~~~I've been here before and the food was delicious. It was about 2+ years ago, so I'd be lying if I told you what I ate. However, my subconscious causes my mouth to water when I think about eating here. Make that bit of information what you will. Yesterday I was out for drinks. The night's vict-- server was Erin. She recommended the Snowfall in Montego Bay. She made an excellent recommendation. It was made of a clove infused Jamaican rum, banana, cinnamon, rosemary, honey coconut, and apple cider. The blend of flavors was well-balanced and helped prevent any one flavor dominating the drink. So if you don't like any of the listed ingredients you should be safe to order because they all worked in harmony to prevent offending your palate. In the meantime, I need to make sure to return for dinner again.

The ambiance was amazing! Very cool and hip place. We hit it at the right time. Not a lot of people in there due to the snowing conditions. I stayed downtown at hotel close by and it was in walking distance. They have a very wide selection of bourbon which I love! A couple of the bottles I thought were a bit overpriced but I understand the rarity of the bottles. Overall great place and will be back.

My wife and I went here in December, and we loved it! The cloud 9 was fantastic. We just went for a drink and ended up staying for two! The decor is so much fun - you think you've been transported to a ski lodge. It's quality - from the drinks to the interior. It's the classic Mr. DeShantz flair that we've come to love in these restaurants that keep us coming back! Check this place out before it's too late. Great service as always!

This has been the year for holiday pop-up's, we've been to quite a few in the past few weeks & this one is way up at the top of our list. The Apres Ski Bar is a like a Christmas Pop Up but without the tacky stuff. Think higher end, so elevated cocktails and space to lounge. Definitely worth a visit for the cocktails and the vibes. Couple things to note - there's no food, this is a cocktail pop-up so plan to grab dinner elsewhere, it's well located so there are a bunch of options around well within walking distance. It's only open on the weekend so it gets busy, and we noticed a wait at the door when we were leaving so it would probably be helpful to make this your first stop on your night out so you can snag a seat, it fills up quick! You order drinks on your phone using the QR Code wherever you're sitting & it comes right out to your spot so super easy & you don't have to try to squeeze into the bar to put in your order, so even though it's a popular spot, you'll be able to get your order in. We tried 4 drinks between us - no duds in the bunch - but we did have favorites like the Butcher Bombardino, and the Snowfall in Montego Bay (that's the snow cone in the mug - delicious and fun!)

Apres ski bar is everything you'd expect for decor, from ambient fireplaces and all the ski lodge feels. The drinks were great and celebratory of the season. The waitstaff were kind and went through the menu with you and answered all questions. It is a little overpriced. Food was mediocre but the way I look at it is you come for the atmosphere and drinks. Not so much the food. The steak tartare was a step above mediocre and the pretzel was good but it's a pretzel. Entrees were small so I would recommend if they return with the theme to have drinks and maybe an appetizer there and go over to their sister restaurant Meat and Potatoes for an actual meal.

The coolest pop up concept and such a beautiful menu! Visited in mid December with a group of gals and we were seated in the Alpines room (I think!) and it was tucked away from the door, which ensured that we weren't too cold or exposed to crowds of people. We had a lounge table with some armchairs and a couch, plus some smaller cube seats. The place is decked out with framed prints of old ski resort lodges and alpine nature and winter related images. It was festive while not being "Christmas-y" which is so smart and savvy, now Pittsburgh can enjoy the theme much longer than just December. I tried two drinks - the Back at the Lodge and the Catskills. Both were delicious and warm in flavor, and quite strong too. We also had a chilled bottle of Moët to share thanks to the "Ski Pass", which also guaranteed us the reservation to begin with. We shared the cheese fondue, frites, and schnitzel, all of which were delicious. The fondue is the star, our only issue was the cheese going slightly cooled before we finished dipping all our food goodies, but it was still so fun and very filling. Also, do a shot-ski when you visit! It's a blast! What else can I say - it's fun, festive, and cozy, and the food and drinks are pitch perfect. Can't wait to come back before March!
