Wonderful little spot with a vibrant, bustling energy. If you go at peak lunchtime, they'll be a long line. I had the Greek salad and it was amazing! For a starter I shared the Tzatziki and Hummus with my friend and they were excellent. All of the ingredients were very fresh and clean. The pita and bread is so fresh and soft. My only issue was not being from the area, parking is a hassle. They are situated on a corner that's incredibly busy with cars and a train track. It felt unsafe and as if there should be a crossing guard. If you park across the street and train track, there's no crosswalk that is a direct shot to Anthos. That is the only reason I would not go as often.

Very, very good Greek bakery and restaurant. They have many of the Greek classics for lunch, and their pastries are definitely top notch. Prices are pretty fair too, and nice portions. I got to try out their danish with jam and pastry cream (apricot danish), dark chocolate brioche, and chicken souvlaki. The chicken souvlaki was pretty good. The chicken was seasoned nicely and cooked the perfect amount. However, I will say it was too fatty for my taste. They included some fresh vegetables on the side which were great. I loved the pita (it had rosemary or some other similar herb in it, and it was perfectly soft). Pretty good but not the best souvlaki I've had.The pastries were very, very good. The danish was one of the best sweets I've had in a while. They are very generous with the jam. The pastry cream was also perfect. Great pastry. It was quite sweet so could be a bit much for some. The brioche was also very good. Great portion. The chocolate was rich and the brioche itself was soft on the inside, with a little bit of chewiness on the outside. Loved the sugar crystals throughout. All in all, very nice Greek place. I'd love to come back, especially for the pastries. Check out the danishes and breads!

Anthos is such a gem in the Castle Shannon area. You literally can't go wrong with any menu choice. Their food is fresh, and you can tell that they pour their hearts into it all. The owners will make you feel like family (that's my favorite part). Their baked goods blow my mind every time...and I'll never stop dreaming of the spanakopita. 10/10 all around.

I can't begin to tell you how much I love this place. Forgive my photos because they're subpar (I forgot to take them in time, I was just too excited to dig in), but the food is anything but!Pastries and bread are fresh and delicious, soup is perfect, and the dishes are gorgeous and tasty.

The food here was really delicious. I had avgolemeno soup which was perfect for the cold day, pastistio, and couldn't resist an apricot pastry for dessert. The iced tea was also really good and is their own house blend. It tasted like a light chamomile with honey. I was recommended to come here by a friend and it was a winner!

I was so impressed by the food here! To find authentic Greek food with all the ingredients freshly made in house is almost unheard of. But to find a Greek place that makes their own gluten-free pita and bread: that's on a whole other level. The flavor was wonderful in everything and I would definitely eat here again. Service is a little bit slow, but totally worth it, because everything is made fresh.

I love Anthos! I came at noon on the Friday before the week of Christmas and it was packed! I'm so happy to see they're doing so well. I ordered a ham and Gruyère sandwich on a rosemary loaf and it was delicious. My friend got avocado toast and it was also delicious. They always have good coffee and they were kind enough to make me something not on the menu (a peppermint mocha). I didn't love my pastry, it was a little dry but other than that, a perfect visit to Anthos and I can't wait to go back!

An extraordinary Greek bakery with a passion for sharing great food and culture.I love everything about how this café is laid out, it's comfortable, cheerful, and a great place for conversation. There are many traditional foods here that I'm interested in experiencing, and they are all prepared with amazing craft and care. Not just a bakery, for example they serve brunch on Saturday and Sunday.I had a wonderful time talking with the staff, they were helpful and made some excellent recommendations. They were also generous in giving out samples.

4.4/5Excellent! I REALLY recommend getting a pastry with their coffee. they pair perfectly together.I ordered the swedish cardamom bun, monkey bread, greek frappe, and greek espresso.Their bread is all EXCELLENT! Their monkey bread was super sticky and soft, and i love cardamom so i enjoyed their swedish bun! Each pastry is filled a complex flavor that, when paired with a dark/strong coffee is super satisfying. They have a TON of variety here, with a good amount of affordable options. This is a wonderful place to relax and have some high quality treats.
