Almost Heaven Bar and Grill

'Almost Heaven' is a great Morgantown Dive Bar! Crowds were amazing. Music was pumping. Plenty of TVs for sports. 'Lily', our server, was exceptional - big personality, absolutely adorable, great service and incredibly attentive. For a dive bar, Almost Heaven is a 5-Star establishment. But as a restaurant/bar, it's a solid 3-Star.If you're looking to party in Morgantown for the night, and hang out with some of WVU's finest, come grab a pint, bucket o' bottles or a cocktail at Almost Heaven.

Got a quick bite in the afternoon. No wait and got our drinks and food really quick. Service was pristine. We tried 2 different flavors of wing the hot garlic and garlic parm. Both were really good. The fries were on the softer side which turned out really good with their house sauce. Believe this place would be really fun in the later scene with pool tables and disco balls. Great little place.

Don't get the fried pickles, they are really bad, the pickle pieces are cut super thin (not exaggerating, about the thickness of construction paper) and there is entirely too much fried batter. Don't get the hot dogs , the bun and actual hot dog wiener is super dry, and the wiener is really small in comparison to the bun. All of the fries were soggy. All of the food was extremely salty. We waited a long time just to water refills (which never came). The service overall was just not very great, but there was a huge party there as well so most of their energy was focused on them. The chicken sandwich was pretty good, and the philly cheesesteak was ok but very soggy. The ambiance wasn't to bad if your looking for a loud bar and grill type place to eat.

The food was nothing to write home about, and the bar area was hot, as they opened the eating area to allow people to eat in the shade. The service was good, but with only a few customers, it is easy to be good. I'm not sure if I will be back, it will depend on my reason to be in the downtown area.

Food tasted great but our nachos that were supposed to be an appetizer that came out with our entrees were cold. We waited a long time for silverware and napkins. Our waitress walked past several times and didn't check on us. We were going to get drink refills but were never offered any. Waited a long time for the check and the check we got and our receipt was a +$2 difference.

Horrible service. They do not treat customers with respect. However, the drinks were fairly cheap.

Almost Hell is a better name. Waited over 2 hours for greasy food. How club sandwiches can be greasy is a mystery. When we got our food we were one meal short. About an hour into our wait the "bar and grill" turned into a wannabe dance club complete with disco ball and music so loud you couldn't have a conversation. Dirty bathrooms without toilet paper soap or paper towels completed the experience. Avoid

Service wasn't good my friend waiting 50 minutes to get her food and the food we did get was over cooked and or burnt. We didn't even get the right drinks. Table and floors were sticky. The waiter ran by multiple times with check on us or refilling drinks.

After watching West Virginia win, during my trip to this game, I walked from the stadium to this bar as it was well recommended. The walk was about 30 minutes and downslope mostly.The bar is pretty big with a huge hall as you walk in. During my visit, they were serving bar food and I ordered chicken wings with beer. Service was great and attentive. Many of the folks were like me, visiting after the game. I think it is a good spot for the University and alumni crowd too.They had live music and some indoor sports.

The weekend buffet was good the first time. The second time, there was a limited menu with a few appetizers and no buffet. I'm not wanting to go back for a while till they get things straightened out. I might give it another try in the future. There's other places in the meantime.
