Allegheny Mariner

A place to grab a nice dinner on the water! There's a bar outside that tends to be a little more rowdy, nothing extreme. Then there is a dining room with water view and another bar inside. Their mushroom bruschetta board is the #1 thing on their menu in my opinion! (Not pictured) Also I am a big fan of their shrimp and chorizo pasta!

Excellent service, great food, this place should be packed.There's a great view of the river too, what more could you want?‍I had the grilled chicken Sammy. Chicken cooked perfectly, melted fresh mozzarella cheese, fresh tomato and a yummy pesto on a grilled brioche bun Also, the hand cut fries with pepper & Parmesan, delicious !

I LOVE the atmosphere it's very clean, right on the water. I imagine summer time being amazing at this spot! I also cannot get enough of their poutine. Wow. 20/10! The martini was great, and I thought it was even more amazing when I asked if they had stuffed olives for a martini and I got the response of "no, but I have blue cheese and I'll make it happen" I don't know of any other place that didn't already have them, to offer to. That reason alone I would be back!

The ambiance takes me back to a simpler time, like when the plague happened. The floor looks like it hasn't been cleaned in many many years.For the food: More like Allegheny Poopiner. Tastes like the chef bent over and took a deuce on your plate. Go to a hospital cafeteria, the food will be better and the price much better.FYI if your food isn't poop. You will surely be in the bathroom for a week straight. Buy some pepto and prepare your will.

Had a quiet lunch overlooking the Allegheny River at this restaurant.The missus enjoyed her cod with fries, while I ordered three appetizers for us to nosh on. The coconut shrimp was delish with their dipping sauce, and the beer-battered deviled eggs were out of this world yummy! The bruschetta though, was served with bread a bit too burnt. Oh well.The server was nice enough, and the place seemed pretty clean and kept up. Pretty good!

We were out for a boat ride up river on Sunday and decided to stop for lunch and cocktails. They split our group into two. The other half had great timely service. Our half of the group did not. This was only made worse by the fact that my wife was leaving the bathroom and heard the staff complaining about our group. While the food was good it came out poorly and we were attended to poorly. I feel the need to also mention that the bartender was not being very nice to any of his customers as well. Staff and management of The Mariner: please do better. We've been here before and truly love the restaurant. However one more bad visit and we will never return.

Dined here for the first time in 11 years and OMG!!! Bruschetta...fish and chips...beer battered deviled eggs(to die for)...coconut shrimp....wasn't disappointed as in the past...

Doesn't look like much on the outside; however, the inside is beautiful. It wasn't busy, as we arrived as soon as they opened. We were seated by the water on a beautiful sunny day! Brandy, our waitress was excellent and very friendly. I had the best chicken tacos of my life here and will definitely be back.

The food was not great. I got the filet and it was over charred. It was like the pan was too hot when they seared it. Instead of a med-rare with a nice sear it was a medium with a charcoal sear. My wife got salmon that was undercooked and had a hair in it. Normally that alone would be worth a 1 star review, but the staff was courteous and gave us a 50% discount on her meal. The meal was definitely not worth the $80 we paid for.TL;DR the food's quality is not worth the price.
