5801, my humble experience, is a quintessential brat bar if you're ever in Pittsburgh. The bartenders are always nice and very personable. They have a patio space in the back that's also a nice area to socialize if you he overwhelmed being indoors. They also have DJs that come in on the weekend. You also can't miss being there on Sundays. They have food and sometimes you may even be blessed with a drag show. Even during the week they have food and I just recommend their chicken wings and mozzarella sticks. I definitely recommend trying it out if you haven't been.

My partner, our friend and I were in town for a beerfest and we were looking for a queer space to have some fun. 5801 did just that. There is an outside patio area and we sat around the bar where they had two bartenders who were both very nice. I love a video bar because it reminds me of all the times I partied at Union Cafe when I was a baby gay in Columbus, Ohio. We weren't there long, but it served its purpose. I will go again if I'm ever in the area.

I came here with some friends, absolutely loved the vibes. They had pretty decorations up for pride and they had really good music!

5801 goes all out for the holidays, and christmas is no exception! Their decorations go (literally) from floor to ceiling and, along with the themed cocktails, set a festive, cozy atmosphere. We tried the white christmas & the fuzzy reindeer, both of which were delicious! After that, I got a glass of prosecco that was weirdly disappointing (basically flavorless). For food, we shared the white pizza which was standard bar food. They offer a pretty large menu (much bigger than what they list online!), which is good to know! Service is quite hit or miss. It took us a very long time to get our first order in (despite sitting at the bar), but once we were on the bartenders' radar we got checked in on pretty frequently. 5801 also boasts a fun dart area (that turns into a great dance floor on weekend nights) & an awesome patio on the upper level. It's one of my favorite neighborhood spots, and I will definitely go back while they're still decorated for the holidays!Food: B-Drinks: BService: C+Ambiance: A

5801 is a great establishment with all kinds of events and awesome music on the weekends to dance. During the holiday season, it is a must to stop and go on the back deck for holiday photo ops and at the front entrance they have photo ops as well. They have your typical bar food, but everything on the menu is good. The bartenders are always friendly and always on the move to make sure you are having a good time.

This is the classiest gay bar in town and is the PGH answer to Chicago's Sidetrack as a well-designed video bar. (I am from Chicago, thus the comparison. ) I have only been here twice and not for an extended amount of time, but have tried the food and drinks and they are both good. Glad to return again in the future. (Now, if they can just add a Broadway musical day/evening like they have in Chicago, then it would be perfect! Anyone listening?)

First off, 5801 deserves 5 stars simply for the establishment and safe space they create. You go here for the shows, the atmosphere and the events. The food is good but nothing to go crazy over. Both dishes were better than we anticipated. I was expecting typical bar food and it mostly is. They had some solid options for brunch. We were there for drag brunch. The tots started out great but ended up being a conglomerate of mush part of the way through. I think the tots could have been cooked a little longer to be crispier. My girlfriend ordered the chicken and waffles and ended up being my favorite. It's a classic dish that I love for brunch. We like to order two different dishes so we can share. We ended up switching. I've also had a flatbread here on another occasion and it was also good!We will return while we live in Pittsburgh.

This is a cool little gay bar located on the corner where I used to have physical therapy. I remember big screen TVs, booths with individual small TVs, and club music. It was a fun place! As far as the menu, there wasn't, like, a full dinner menu or anything; but some really good table-sharable or individually filling appetizers. I was in the mood for a sandwich, so I sprung the idea of a Rüben, and they had the ingredients to make me a Rachel, so I had that. My mother had some onion rings and tater tots. It was all really, REALLY good.We were there right at opening (like 5 or 6pm) on a weekend before an X-Fest concert. The concert started around 6:30, so we had to be quick, and we said that...Which started me ruminating in my head that I should not've, because sometimes people are just inconsiderate on purpose to ruin somebody's day. Not here! Not only were they nice to my homophobic mother (they didn't HAVE to be,) but they got us in-and-out quickly, in time for the concert!I used to go here often, but that one stands out for some reason.
