5 of us had a very nice dinner. Food is excellent and very large portions so you will take home food. It is a little loud but still a nice festive atmosphere. Dorothy takes very good care of you needs and is very pleasant except for me lol.just kidding. highly recommended for good italian food. BYOB and no corkage so bring your wine.

The chef / owner was out ill so his assistant chef filled in when I had dinner here with friends last week . The night we were there only two other tables were occupied . I ordered eggplant Parmesan, which was ok my two friends both had chicken which they said they enjoyed. My entrée was served with a side of ziti pasta and a small salad . The marinara sauce on the pasta tasted like tomatoes straight out of a can with no seasoning, and the pasta was cold- disappointing . The salad was good . On the positive side they have a BYOB option with no corkage fee and the restaurant is family friendly, with table seating and take out . In addition the restaurants' bread is fresh from Mancini's bakery which is a few blocks away and it is served with butter or olive oil and balsamic vinaigrette. The staff and the assistant chef were very helpful nice people .The restaurant is in a neighborhood that is unfortunately in decline and I felt that the entrée prices were expensive not only for the quality of the food the ambience of the restaurant, which was like a pizzeria with tables, and the location. I believe that my eggplant with a side of pasta and a small salad was $26.50 The food & atmosphere overall was mediocre. However I do want to mention again that the owner/ chef was not there that night due to illness.

Since the place I wanted to eat was only doing carryout on a Saturday , I needed something new in a jam. I happened to find this quaint joint in the Rocks. The action around the restaurant is interesting but the food & service was fabulous. To start the eggplant appetizer with the homemade tomato marinara was amazing. 4 big pieces on a dish just tickling my taste buds. Oil and bread to accompany it with a salad having mixed greens & some head lettuce. For my entree I had chicken Parmigiano and it comes with pasta which was enough for a meal itself. I took plenty of leftovers home for tomorrow's lunch. The pricing is more like 3 stars than 2 but well worth it for the authenticity and portions. Yum

Great food every time I go. The Fettuccine Alfredo is the best in the Burg. No other place has better Tripe.

Growing up in NYC, I was surprised and delighted when I had dinner with my wife and FOODIE friends a few years ago. The salad, or, wedding soup, that comes with the entree was fresh and tasty. The veal entree was huge, tender and delicious. The imported Italian pasta side dish was 9 oz of perfectly cooked pasta. Little Italy in NYC would be proud. The lemon layer cake desert was exceptional. No corkage fee, they take reservations, and, they are open on Sunday. The best part of the meal was taking home the rest of the dinner we couldn't finish. One or two more meals to truly enjoy.

I dont like to give negative reviews, especially to a small biz trying hard to please. But, we rely heavily on reviews so here goes. The food and portions were great. The server was very attentive. But the prices were very high for the experience. $36 for an eggplant dish? The ambiance was lacking. It felt more like a breakast or lunch diner with no attempt at decor. If that does not bother you then perhaps you would like it.We were there friday night at 7:00 and only one other table was there.

This place is objectively terrible and the positive reviews don't make any sense. The dipping vinaigrette was house made, but I'm pretty sure that everything else came out of a can. The marinara sauce was straight-up canned tomatoes with little or nothing added to them. The bolognese was disrespectful to the animals who died to make it. The pasta was overcooked. The meat was inconsistently cooked. Everything was grossly underseasoned. This was easily the worst meal I've had in recent memory at any price, and it was $30+ a seat plus gratuity. The room has a high ceiling with a lot of reflective surfaces. There were only a few other occupied tables, and it was very loud. It had the ambiance of a Philly bus station. The service was fine.

Food and service were great! Large portion sizes! Ambiance was like a bistro - could be a little loud if really crowded.

Six of us just had a terrific dinner here. BYOB, so a savings there. But prices were fair, and everything was absolutely delicious. We were the only occupied table in the place, which is too bad. It would be a shame if the neighborhood (and Pgh!) lost this gem. I can't imagine what they could do to improve the place -- we thought it was perfect. Please do check them out. We want to go back and would be heart-broken if they closed!
