1888 Bites & Pints

I should give 5 stars just for the fact that someone is willing to venture into the bar/ restaurant business these days. 5 more stars for shining the place up as it used to be Johnny's Wife's Place, a long time staple in the community. Fun space and location. We came on a Friday night and was a little surprised to find a fairly empty bar. Thankfully for them, their liquor license is in the final approval stages and will help increase business. Until then, they do have a nice variety of complimentary alcoholic beverages to choose from.Menu is not overwhelming, which is a good thing. My smashburger was very good. Our server was very friendly and shared a few interesting facts about the reference for 1888. 1888 is the year the city of Jeannette was founded. Nice touch.We plan to return during football season to catch a few games on the large TV screens.

I ordered an Italian sub (whole) it was half the size I expected and was $15.99. I got a sub at Sforno's twice the size for $14.99 and also twice as good.

Very very good food! Lots of options, especially if you're gluten free!! Service was great! And the manager was walking around and stopped briefly at our table to see how everything was. He was super friendly. Our waitress was super sweet and very attentive. They have a dedicated fryer so I was able to enjoy the whole wings and fries. I had garlic parm wings that were very good, Fries with gf beer cheese that were to die for and gf Mac n cheese that was very tasty. My husband had pizza and he just LOVED the crust!! And he also had the steak salad which he said was one of the best steak salad's he has had! So all in all, I was so happy we found 1888 Bites & Pints!!!! P.S. try the pomegranate margarita

Great bar and grill under new ownership. The food was outstanding and there are many gluten free options for my Celiac husband even gluten free funnel cake! The food is delish, I recommend the Jtown cluck sandwich. Great neighborhood place, like Cheers!
