1844 Restaurant

Ambience was unbelievable! Service was impeccable and it will be on our list of stops next time we're in PA!

I chose this place based on Yelp reviews and it did not disappoint. The restaurant was quiet and enjoyable. My girlfriend and I both had the Apple and walnut salad to start. The apples were crisp and fresh and the dressing was a nice pop of sweet and sour poppy dressing. My girlfriend enjoyed the Jumbo Lump crab cakes. The jumbo lump meat was delicious. It came with mashed potatoes,braised carrots, and coleslaw. I had the New Zealand Oro King Salmon. I had my blackened. The lemon dill aioli had a nice tartness to it. While the mashed potatoes, braised carrots and the bean sides were very tasty, the potatoes and carrots felt a bit heavy for the salmon summer dinner. But that's a personal preference and they were still really good. I appreciated the local beer options and really enjoyed the Dancing Gnomes Wishbone Pale Ale. We will definitely be coming back for another meal.

On a whim my wife and I when to this restaurant. Figured give it a shot and we were glad we did. The wait staff was very friendly and helpful. The atmosphere down stairs is wonderful. Felt like I was in Gettysburg. We stared out with a drink which was a Sam Adam's Dark, a little pricey for bottle but good. Had the house salads with blue cheese dressing and house poppyseed. Both excellent. Also had the sushi "beef" which was unique and very tasty with the smoked Gouda. My wife had the crab cakes and they were almost all king crab chunks. She said they were top 3 best she's ever had!! I had the fillet medium. Bothe came with excellent mashed potatoes and carrots. Both are not my favorite but these were excellently prepared. The horseradish sauce which was homemade was a perfect match with the fillet. Outstanding. For dessert cheesecake with raspberry sauce and peanut butter pie both were excellent. The peanut butter pie was the most unusual I've ever had light and extremely tasty. Overall excellent meal. I'm just doing a review of 1844.

Every time I eat at the 1844 I come out saying that I just had one of the finest meals of my life. I have a hard time ordering anything besides the blackened combo because the prime rib is the best piece of meat you can get anywhere within 25 miles and the fish always impeccably fresh straight from Honolulu! Last time I went however I ordered the blacked salmon and was just amazed at how incredible it was with the lemon aioli. The drinks and service are also extraordinary! Can't wait to go back.

Visiting family in Leechburg is always a treat. Happy to discover the businesses are slowly returning to a regular schedule. My cousins were thrilled this restaurant reopened in order to treat fora fabulous meal. We began with delicious appetizers of stuffed mushroom caps, mozzarella sticks and one other. All scrumptious followed by salads beet and arugula along with the pear salad. Our entrees ranged from crab cakes to steaks equally exquisite. All were prepared to our desired request and very little left for the next day. Dessert was peanut butter pie and creme brulee Fantastic time, excellent service and atmosphere. I can't wait to come back and savor my memories of this experience. Worth the trip to an out of the way restaurant with limited days for dining.

Food was excellent, I got the pan seared Salmon and A fried potato patty and it was tender, fresh and very flavorful. Next is the service which was excellent, my sever the two night I went was Karen and Bailey they were both very kind and helpful. The atmosphere was amazing very calm and peaceful place to be and a nice place where I could eat my food and not feel rushed. Overall I love this place and will definitely be coming back as soon as I can. P.S. My compliments to the sue and head chef's.

Excellent in every way, I worked there as a server for several years and dined there many times. I brought my parents there and well. Everything was always top notch with the best ingredients you can get. Never a disappointment unless you have the McDonald's type taste buds. In that case stick to your own class of restaurants. Otherwise bon appetit and enjoy!JT

Treated horribly when we ate there some years ago. Vowed to never go back. Simply because we weren't wearing our most formal attire, they ignored us.

I loved this place. Everything about it was old school and charming. The decor was warm and rustic. It's like you're eating in a farmhouse from the 1800's, complete with a working fireplace.I had a reservation (you make it through their website) and was seated immediately. I must say it wasn't busy at all, but the server was with me within a minute. I have a restricted diet, and they were very helpful with accommodating me and making suggestions. They start you out with a basket of some sort of bread. It's like a sweet cornbread. Very good! The menu is small. Mostly meat and seafood. The choices they have are all good though. I had the prime rib, and they were able to add a side of the most fantastic grilled shrimp I've ever had. I'm not a beer or wine drinker. They did have what looked like a nice menu of those options. They also had a full liquor bar. I hear they make a great Tom Collins. The cost was comparable or cheaper then like restaurants. Everyone was nice. The owner showed me out and inquired about my experience. Very nice guy! I'll definitely be back.

Service was ok not great menu and my wife couldn't even eat her food the pictures on line make it look beautiful but you eat in a fancy basement
