Stephanie made thanksgiving the best for our family. This was intended to be a reunion as cousins had travelled to see my mom. I picked up the catering and drove to the location. Everything remained hot. the turkey was delicious and was moist. no one could believe how smoky the mac and cheese was. I loved the potatoes-they were well seasoned and not starchy. the stuffing balls were like my grandma'scarrots were like the family's home recipe. we appreciated the quality and service that Stephanie provided.

It's local. It's fresh. It's smoked. And it's absolutely delicious. If you're in the mood for chicken, pulled pork, or brisket, you've just hit the jackpot! This place just recently made its way to the top of my favorite places to eat in Altoona. My first experience at 12Eleven Brisket was a few weeks ago when I got a free pulled pork sandwich. Every day on Facebook, they do a name of the day. If you happen to have the name of the day, you get a free sandwich. Let me tell ya, for a free sandwich it was darn good! The pulled pork was very fresh, and it was HUGE!! Next time I'll probably do without the cheese, but it was good! On my second trip, I brought a friend along. I ordered the smoked chicken with a side of smoked Mac and cheese and coleslaw. My friend ordered the brisket with baked beans and coleslaw. One thing is absolutely for certain: THIS PLACE KNOWS HOW TO DO BRISKET. I tried a bite of the brisket and it literally melts in your mouth. The smoked Mac and cheese is delish!!! Highly recommend!!! The only thing I could find to pick at was my chicken was slightly dry. But honestly everything was great!!Can't wait to return! This place is keeping it fresh and delish!

I've come here twice for lunch and both times I have been pleased with the quality of BBQ. Even though it's not the best BBQ I've ever had, I think this is probably one of the better, if not the best, BBQ spots in the area (and maybe even food spots for that matter). It's also locally owned from my understanding, which is great for the area. I haven't had everything on the menu but I really, really liked the brisket. I mean.. it's just so succulent and smokey that you can't only have one sandwich. It's impossible. I also had the pulled pork which was really good but, for me, the brisket was so good that it made the pulled pork seem slightly on the drier side. You can't complete a BBQ meal without mac n cheese. I really liked that they topped this with bacon and added some of the smokiness to it. The portions are good for their price point, about the size of a fist. But I almost would rather just have one larger sandwich to fill my craving than having two smaller ones. Either way, definitely at the top of my food list in Altoona and will be coming back for more! Good stuff!

Had high expectations. Ordered the chicken entree with a side order of brisket. To describe what was served, I'd say high school lunch shredded chicken and brisket. Who shreds brisket?!? Both well over done. Very disappointed. The servers are very nice, polite, and attentive. The food missed the mark.

I was at a beautiful wedding on Saturday Sept 28, 2024 and this was the catering company and the food was horrible. I don't know how you advertise as specializing in smoked meats as it was the worst pulled pork and brisket I ever had. All fat and not even shredded. The Mac and Cheese was not even good was like you dumped sauce out of the can. Potatoes no taste and did I mention the appetizers.... One small pan of buffalo chicken dip and one of meatballs for 150 people. She arrived late, ran out of pasta and food was cold. Food was served out of coolers. Out of a scale of 1-10 I give it a zero and I am not even kidding. I would be embarrassed to keep the money paid for this whole thing. Shame on you!!!! If it was my wedding I would be seeing you in court.

Seeing other recent reviews, I feel the need to share our experience with 12Eleven catering in hopes of preventing others from making the same mistake that we made. We used 12Eleven for our wedding and sadly it was a huge headache that we now have to resolve by going to court. Stephanie will promise the world and even write up a custom contract to appease you. When push comes to shove, she does not deliver on even half of her promises. If you do go with her, keep ALL paperwork, texts, contracts, etc. Get her mailing address, as it is purposely left off of the contract. From the beginning, she was very pushy about money telling us we needed to secure the date right away so no one else would take it. She sold us on a lot of individualized promises that we were looking for, so we paid the deposit to her. One of the biggest reasons my husband and I went with her was because she promised (and hand wrote on our contract) walk around service for cocktail hour. This did not happen on wedding day. She yelled at my planner that she would "never promise that" due to the cost. When she showed up to our venue, she was dressed extremely unprofessional and she changed to serve guests into something just as unprofessional. Our other vendors actually commented on her poor appearance.Stephanie was very rude to my planner and mother throughout the day. She did not bring silverware that we paid for, and is stated as "provided" in the contract. My planner had to run out last minute to get silverware. She did not bring any appetizers that we paid for and were written into the contract! We paid the upcharge to have filet and gave a headcount that was 20 people more than what showed up. We received no leftover steak. She actually took it with her when she left. She only left the extra sides. Again, in the contract it states that all food is left at the venue.I was in the middle of getting pictures taken with my bridal party and had to worry about my wedding caterer not doing her job. After our wedding I asked Stephanie multiple times for an itemized list of what we paid for or receipts. She responded with nasty and inappropriate text messages that included her saying I was not considering the servicing charge on the contract, which is for wood, gas, time, and fuel cost. This is not stated anywhere on the contract. She reluctantly told me she would email me the list, and never did. This is because she overcharged us by hundreds of dollars and could not provide proof of purchase for the food. She was a complete disaster and I am not one to leave bad reviews, especially for small businesses, but if I can save people from dealing with the headaches that we endured, it is worth it. One other thing, be sure to ask your other vendors if they will work with her when making a decision because as her bad reputation is getting around, many vendors are blacklisting her and refusing to work with her.

In from out of state and came here to pickup food for family at the hospital. Recommend you check out the food at the hospital Ordered Brisquit sandwiches, fish sandwich, French fries and two orders of Cole slaw. Also ordered a single drumstick because I like to sample as much of the menu as possible. Fries were soggy and limp. Cole slaw was fresh but devoid of flavor. Drumstick was small, which is odd because the menu implies large drumsticks. I saw split wood stacked near the entrance. Looked like hickory. Not sure if it was for show, but the meat (both chicken and brisket) had only a hint of smoke (if any). The brisket had evidence of a crust, but it was very dry. The BBQ sauce was in a pump station and seemed home made. It was not bad, but nothing special. It came in handy trying to moisten the brisket to the point where I could chew and swallow it. I would not buy a bottle if it were offered for sale. When I came in there was one customer finishing his meal. I made the mistake of sitting behind a wall and didn't get noticed. That's on me. After ordering, it took about 50 minutes for my food to come out. I was told the cook had an "accident" and they had to call someone in. But the cook I saw when I arrived was still there, uninjured and on his cell phone. The waitress was nice, and apologetic. Still, in Virginia "low and slow" is how we cook our BBQ not how we serve it. To any locals who are having brisket for the 1st time, come to VA before you judge the dish based on this. And don't forget UPMC has a cafeteria.
