Pitchers was recommended to me and I finally got to try it! I had the Chimichurri bowl and my boyfriend tried the Pitchers Burger. We shared the crispy Brussel sprouts. Both of us really enjoyed the food. The chimichurri bowl is flavorful and isn't too heavy since it comes with cauliflower rice. The portions were generous and had leftovers to bring home. There is plenty of seating - we chose to sit outside as the inside was darker (it's a sports bar). The waitress took our order quickly when we sat down. I'm looking forward to coming back for more!

My first time here with a large group of friends taught me not to always read reviews, even on Yelp. A number of people referred to Pitchers as a "dive bar." Those people have obviously never been in a real dive bar before leaving a comment like that about Pitchers. It's fine, it's casual but it's clean, roomy inside and on the patio and the floors are not sticky with spilled beer. The variety of the food items impressed me and that's saying something! The tri-tip nachos are really good. They might be a recent addition to the menu and I hope they keep them. Some people liked the crispy brussels sprouts but I not a fan in general. They have 20 beers on tap and in bottles, pretty much something to make most people happy. Looks like they do cocktails as well.Service was great! Food came out much faster than I expected given how busy this place was on a Thursday night. Servers and bartender are cool. It was loud and completely full in the patio but by 10:30 the inside crowd had mostly left. Hint: might be a good time to come in if you only want drinks since the kitchen closes around 9.

Been here a few times in the past month and it just keeps getting worse. The service seems like they only tend to the regulars and my fault, I never paid attention to my bill, until I just asked if they had Happy Hour pricing for food...NO THEY DON'T...but they are smart! Being the only bar in the area, why would they offer any type of discount. They stand behind the bar, drinking and eating off the regulars plates that are sitting at the bar, don't wash their hands, serve you your food...kinda nasty. The food is average, def nothing to rave about. Literally it's the only bar in town, unless you want to cook you own food and go across the street to dark and dusty Cheers...I guess they stay in business from the regulars.......

Update: 06/02/2024Whelp, after moving back to the area about a year and a half ago and leaving my first review, I can say that Pitchers has without question become our favorite, local, go-to watering hole. We go here after work, to watch games, to hang out with friends and we've really grown to love all the employees here. I've recently learned that their Chef Kamil regularly does food specials and I've had the opportunity to try a few of them now. The first special I tried was smoked chicken flautas, the next was a ranchero steak that was perfectly cooked and had a perfect amount of spice and seasoning on it and last week they had a steak special that was perfectly prepared and was presented beautifully over some whipped polenta. Kamil absolutely throws down on the food here and takes great pride in what comes from the kitchen. In addition to the amazing food that comes out of the kitchen, the bar staff and the servers are all awesome too! Pitcher's has an huge beer-on-tap selection and I'm confident that there's a brew on tap for anyone no matter what you're into. The cocktails here are also quite delicious, consistent and not watered down like you might find at some other places. Of course being a bar, they can make the usual drinks, but they also have a craft cocktail menu that we've started trying out that are also perfectly executed. A couple of these are the Pasilla-Later, El Guapo, and we even tried a couple drinks that I don't think are on the menu. was a Pasilla Mañana which was like a smoked version of the Pasilla-Later and another one was a pistachio and coconut mai tai that was probably one of the best mai tai's I've ever had. There's something to be said when you finally find a place where people recognize you and make you feel welcome from the moment you walk through the door and Pitchers is definitely one of those places. It's no surprise that they have so many regulars here and have been in the community as long as they have been. The people like Jordan, Danny, Amin, Cam, Ryan, Kamil, Allison and everyone else are what makes Pitchers the awesome place that it is and it's awesome that some of them have been here as long as they have been. This is a great place with great food and drinks, a great vibe, tons of seating indoor and outdoor and is perfect for catching games, having parties or for just grabbing a meal. Very stoked to have such a great establishment so close to home.

Love this little gem! Great place to watch sports, lots of screens, seats, and able to reserve. Came here for a UFC fight, which is difficult to find when it's a paid for only fight, seats were all taken but a wonderful group who reserved a table adopted us...so uber friendly people here!! Our small group loved this place. Patrons were nice, respectful, and into the fights so perfect noise level, appropriate for the occasion. Server was on top of things! He never wrote anything down, yet got everything perfect. Considering how busy they were, I couldn't believe that he remembered our drinks and food from earlier. Nachos were great but we wanted extra cheese when ordering the second time and see pic, YUM!!We'll be back!ps, bathrooms were clean and smartly set up with communal hand washing outside of toilet areas.

It's an okay sports bar in the area but nothing special. They have a good selection of items on their menu but their service could've been better, it was slow, the food came out kinda sloppy and they got our orders wrong. We didn't even had any special customizations requested. The place is good for big groups and they have a bar area, indoor and outdoor, the vibe was okay and they have TVs. Some of the food items we ordered are:- Pork Belly Sliders - it was dripping in oil. - Chimichurri Bowl - it was bland- Cobb Salad- Caprese Sandwich- BBQ Tri Tip Sandwich - the sauce was way too sweet like it had too much sugar- Margarita - nothing special and tasted like juice.

Very cool local sports bar spot in Rancho Penasquitos. It's located in a big plaza with parkings (parkings might be alil difficult during busy hours). The sports bar does get crowded during games and fights. They have both indoor and outdoor seating with TONS of TVs. There is a good selection of beer on draft on the chalkboard menu. This might not be a kid friendly place, but there are a very few tables with booth seatings. There are bar seatings & high tables with bar stools. You can pull up the menu via a QR code. The food and drinks are really good here. * Salt & peppered wings + buffalo wings (10 pieces) - these are not the usual tiny wings. They are pretty good sized wings. You can choose up to 2 flavored wings. The flavors are on point and the wings are really good.* Onion rings - the BEST onion rings I've had, MUST ORDER! * Classic PIzzas - love all the toppings, very good pizza* Fried Chicken sandwich - love the bun, not the best I've had but it's good if you like fried chicken.* Pork belly sliders - WooooW, I had low expectation but it blew my mind. Very tender piece of pork belly, perfectly seared and seasoned, very juicy, thick and tender, in these toasted slider buns. MUST ORDER! * Hazy IPA on draft - forgot the name but it was good. I will come back the next time I'm in town!

Nice service. Awesome beer selection. Lots of TVs for your sport of choice. The brussel sprouts are their best app.

Jury is still out...I went during NFL playoffs so it was packed! Food was typical pub grub, but the staff was super nice and attentive. The problem was they have a semi-covered outside area that is about as big as their indoor dining area. So when it started raining, a HUGE portion of their outdoor business migrated inside, slowing down service and seating options. I should have gotten there sooner - but who can judge CA weather/micro climates! I would definitively go back, outside of any major sporting event!

I had a horrible experience here a few weeks ago and waited to post this until my new ID came in the mail so I could post proof that this incident occurred. I met my friends here for drinks after work and my friend offered to buy mine since I drove roughly 30 minutes to meet them. Without looking at my ID for more than 3 seconds, Danny the bartender/manager on duty snapped my ID. First of all, why would anyone have a fake vertical ID? That literally makes no sense. Second, he didn't ask my address, or try any other forms of checking the ID before using all his strength to snap it. When we realized he snapped it, my friend and I immediately were taken aback (because i'm nearly 25 and yes, my skin is amazing but I'll be the first to say I definitely don't look under 21). Danny said "Real IDs don't snap like that" -news flash Danny, they do when a grown man puts all his weight into snapping it. We continued to tell him it was real and asked why he didn't check it with a light or scanner and he told me they did not have those. He also mentioned he "has been doing this for 21 years" which I was shocked by considering how obviously bad he is at his job. We threatened to call the police which he very quickly told us not to do and he then gave my broken and now invalid ID back. I could tell he realized it was real and he was wrong, however, he did not offer any compensation and simply went on his way. We hung around for a few minutes trying to figure out what to do. Before we could leave my friends ran into an old neighbor who was a young 22 year old boy that ordered a beer and surprise surprise, wasn't IDed. Isn't that just crazy? Anyways... Just be mindful if you decide to get a drink here, Danny might be feeling snappy.
