Pirate's Fish & Chips

I'll start with the 32 ounce Pepsi that was flat. I mean no carbonation after it was handed to me. No syrup. In an effort to save money they sold a terrible drink. Sell a 16 oz. and make it proper. Don't cut corners on fountain drinks. The 2 pieces of square fish patties were different. I do like fish sticks these were not as tasty. The red sauce was so watered down it wouldn't stick to fish, shrimp or fries. The fries were ok. The stars for me were the shrimp. Decent size and really tasty breading cooked perfectly! 4 of them too. I added a coleslaw and it was tiny and I would describe it as too much mayo. My baseline for Cole slaw is KFC and this pirates slaw was a fail but it was under $2.00 so I can't complain too much. So the combo for $8.95 is not a bad deal given the current inflation crisis facing many restaurants. Seafood for under $10.00 is a great market niche. Have you had a fish witch from the Golden Arches lately then you know what I'm talking about. Service was friendly and efficient order at the drive thru and pay and pick up at the window. Overall, for the value it's just ok. I feel like some fans might like it for the nostalgia like if they went with their parents or family in younger days. This place is CASH ONLY so bring it. It's a family business which I enjoy supporting. If they could fine tune some items I mentioned this place might get 4 stars next time. It wouldn't take much. Raise your prices and bring up the quality. Better than keeping prices low and getting slammed here. Wish you the best Pirates !!!

I've been coming here for years when I need a fish stick and fried shrimp fix. The burgers and fries are pretty darn good for the price. Nothing fancy here walk up or drive through dive. Secret Sauce makes the flavor and I get extra. This is a place you need to set your expectations as you get what you pay for here. Service has always been just fine considering you are at a window. Cash only. Been around for years despite the poor reviews must say something.

Best burgers and fries I've ever had!I was lost..stopped for a burger to figure out which way to go and ran into this gem! The service was GREAT! I never post reviews. But you really need to check this place out!

First of all this is my first review! I have never felt strongly enough to say I like or dislike anything. I made a yelp account for this place alone.This place is bad. It's literally school lunch. Heated up food and totally unacceptable. It's past dinner time and I have to scramble to find something to eat because everyone in my house has lost their appetite.

I've lived in chandler my whole life and have always drove past this place. I finally tried it and wish I hadn't. Dry and flavorless DONT GO HERE

Made this account specifically because of how ridiculously bad my experience here was. I love Pirates. I used to go to one of their Mesa locations nearly every week.There was a single car ahead of me and it took nearly 30 minutes before I got to the window. Then they told me it would be cash only. In 2024, what kind of a rundown piece of shit restaurant only accepts cash? The employee scoffed at me when I noted how ridiculous that was. The owners should be taken out back.Absolutely horrendous. The location is awful too. If you're coming down a certain street, it is very confusing how to even access the shitty drive-thru menu. It looks like it was built 60 years ago and not updated since. Shame on this franchise. It's criminal.

Challenging to place an order. Communicating was difficult. The person taking my order couldn't confirm if he understood the order. Takes a loooong time to cook and even then the fries were not cooked enough. The people before us brought their fries back for the same reason. The fish squares were overcooked. Not worth the hassles and wait.

How can I even begin? I wish there was an option for zero stars. The food is sickly greasy, as well as the workers being agitated to even take my order. I've tried this place one other time at the other location and both were equally a complete waste of time, money, and energy. Seriously the way these places have stayed opened is astounding, the trash, the homeless, the gross greasy mess all over the lot. Disgusting.
