Pro tip: order online and pick-up in the building. Online orders are for take-out only, not available for dining in. Thank you to the friendly staff who shared this tip!Just take your chowders to the bench tables at the start/entrance of the market and enjoy. Walk to Luke's Lobster Roll down the street to continue the seafood journe

I didn't get the hype about this place. A lot of marketing surrounding the fact that they were voted "most popular dish in all of America". Get outta here.I ordered the New England clam chowder, and will be reviewing this based on my experience as a Yankee. First of all, good chowder uses salted pork, or pork fat, but never bacon. While most people believe bacon is a good substitute, its smoky flavor can overpower the flavor of the delicate flavor of the clams. Not sure if butchers outside of New England have salt pork, but it is a must if you're going to say you're the best.Secondly, the chowder has obviously been thickened by some sort of flour or cornstarch. That is not the proper way to make chowder. Real chowder is fairly thin, and only thickened by the starch from potatoes and oyster crackers added on top. I'm almost dumbfounded by the 4-5 star reviews. Did we have the same chowder?Very disappointed and an obvious tourist trap. As the Dropkick Murphys one said. I'm shipping (back) up to Boston.

So delicious and worth the wait even if there's a line- the line actually moves really quickly and the workers help you find a table after you've gotten your food. I actually came back here two times during my visit because it was just that good. I recommend the New England clam chowder- add the Tabasco and oyster crackers for the perfect meal!

The Pike Place Chowder location in Pacific Place mall in downtown Seattle. It's on the 4th floor next to Ding Tai Fung. Small counter serve setup but they have a bunch of tables in the hallway outside. Doing pretty good business on a weekend afternoon considering it was after normal lunch time. Popular with the tourists. The menu is their selection of chowder/seafood soups, and some other seafood items like seafood rolls and fish and chips etc. Got a combo of the 6 inch Maine lobster roll with a bowl of clam chowder. Also comes with a fountain soda. Their signature New England clam chowder is very creamy and tasty. The lobster roll has a good amount of meat for the size of the bread. It's chilled lobster meat that doesn't have much additional seasoning. Lobster meat tasted fine. The food was good, but quite pricey for what you get. Seafood has gotten more expensive over the years, but $40+ for a single not-big lobster roll and a small bowl of chowder is pricey for counter serve food.

First-time visitor. Line was soup-er long but moved quickly and was worth. the. wait. Staff was incredibly kind. The chowder is TOP NOTCH. I was sad not to see Lobster Bisque on the menu but got super lucky because the Market special was Lobster, crab and shrimp chowder. On this sunny but chilly and very windy spring day, it was exactly what I needed. They have someone who stays on top of making sure people aren't reserving tables before they've gotten their food. But just be prepared if you choose to have soup to stay, there might not be tables. I had to walk around with my tray for like 5-7 mins before a table opened up. But don't let that deter you!

Ambience. AService. AFood. APrice. A. (Happy hour 4-6:00)One of the original and last surviving establishments since opening, made it thru COVID pandemic and NOW total businesses remodels around them. On top floor of building. June 2024. Happy hour prices reflect inflation. 1 piece fish chips $7.95. The cashier would take happy hour order until 4:00-6:00. Guess the computer is setup that way. No prob. I waited. Great crispy batter and tender hot cod bites. Chips were hot out of grease! I'm still a fan.

When in Seattle, I always have to visit Pike Place! They really have the best clam chowder! Worth the wait if there's a line. I stopped in with a friend on a Sat night and the line wasn't too bad. They're located on the top floor of the shopping center. There's a few tables but people eat and go so it was fine.

Walked around the mall and saw this had great reviews so decided to check it out since it was on my list! So glad we did because the chowder was so flavorful and probably the best chowder I've ever had! You could taste the clams and the seafood was so fresh. The sourdough was kind of stale but that was complimentary anyways. There was no line and we got our food super fast. *it's on the 4th floor.

My husband and I visited Pike Place Chowder on a busy Saturday afternoon, and despite the long line, we were pleasantly surprised by how quickly it moved. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, even assisting us in finding seating amidst the bustling crowd. We ordered the 32-ounce New England Clam Chowder, and it did not disappoint! The chowder was rich, creamy, and packed with generous chunks of clams. It was, hands down, some of the best clam chowder we've ever had. The complimentary sourdough bread served alongside the chowder was equally delicious, perfectly complementing the flavors of the chowder.Overall, Pike Place Chowder exceeded our expectations, and we can't wait to come back for more. Highly recommend for anyone craving a top-notch clam chowder experience!

It's been a week and I'm still thinking about this place's clam chowder. The long line is worth it - and they're pretty efficient once you get to the front so have your order ready! Limited places to sit outside even though we came on a Thursday afternoon but we ended up finding a bench to enjoy the hot chowder, which came with sourdough bread. We were met with smiles from the service line - easily made this place one of my favorite stops during our trip!
