We picked this place because the line was extremely long. Glad we did! We tried the 4 chowder sampler. Each thing was our favorite - we couldn't pick one. We tried two NE, one market, and one seared scallop. The market that day was lobster, crab, and clam. The line moves fast- so don't get discouraged from trying this place out! Also, if you check in on Yelp, you get one dollar off!

First thing we did after getting off the coast starlight train from LA to Seattle was head to Pike Place Chowder! We tried the original location (in Pike Place) and the second location in a mall. Quality, service and taste were equally consistent across locations (and times). While there is a line for the Pike Place location, the second location seems to have little to no wait time, so just something to consider.Throughout the weekend, we tried the classic clam chowder, seafood bisque in a bread bowl, and Connecticut lobster roll. The soups are phenomenal! So creamy, flavorful, and packed with seafood - We couldn't get enough! The bread bowl does add to the experience because you get the bread bowl top for dipping and I always like scraping the sides of the bowl for even more bread. But we got the soup without the bread bowl on a different day and it was just as good because they give you bread to dip for free anyways. The one slight disappointment was the lobster roll. Lobster rolls are expensive but I felt this one wasn't worth the price. The lobster was good and they gave a good portion but it seemed like it was lacking sauce or something else in it - it really just tasted like plain lobster on a bun. Tip: if you go to the Pike Place location and there's no seating, you can go to the ginger beer place next door, grab a drink, and sit there while you eat!

Touristy? Yes. Often a long line? Yes. But so worth it and delicious? Also yes. I appreciate that you can get a chowder flight, to try several of their eight different options. I have tried the traditional clam chowder, the seafood bisque, the scallop chowder, and the market chowder (a daily special). While the traditional clam chowder is delicious and hearty - my personal favorite was the scallop chowder with fresh dill. It was just light and so flavorful! It is also all served with oyster crackers and a slice sourdough bread. They do not have many tables (although they do have both indoor and outdoor seating), so it seems most folks take their food to go.

I looked at the yelp reviews so I knew I had to try this place. The first day I came 2 hours before closing and they ran out of bread so they could not sell lobster rolls. The second day I called and they said they still had the lobster rolls. I arrived 10 minutes later and they ran out of bread again 3 hours before closing time. I would suggest to order more bread since you know that's a top seller. The line was long and you could not hold tables to sit down until you had your food. I tried the chowder and the sea food chowder as well. Both were good. Served hot with crackers and a small serving of bread. The service was ok. They were moving fast. Overall, I would come back to try the lobster roll, however I would not go out of my way to eat here. 6/10.

Pike Place Chowder was what I guess is a pretty popular spot to enjoy a cup of soup, mainly chowder soup. I came here literally 15 minutes before they were about to close and asked if they still had any chowder left. To my surprise they did and I got a small lobster and crab and a small New England Clam Chowder. Two different types of souls but they did look the same in the photos. They were both delicious and I can say that I would love to come back here again and again! I'm a fan of soups and wish there were this style of soup in Los Angeles. Next time I do want to try their lobster rolls as well.

I had this marked but it is $10 for a chowder wow that's must especially many other places have this on their menu for less!!! I might come back tomorrow to try out the chowder flight with yelp $1 check in discount. I almost ordered but I was tired of waiting in line and went somewhere else, hopefully better tomorrow

Long lines for this place and the lines can zig zag around the market. Tip - Since this place is famous for chowder, I ordered online and then went further in the market on the left to wait for my name to be called. You can also scan the QR Code on the window to place your order. This way was super quick and I only waited 10 mins. We tried the 6oz chowder and it was not cheap, around $12 with tip. Came with spoons crackers and bread. Tasted delicious and served hot. Worth checking it out.

I'm a huge New England chowder fan and the best I ever had was in Maine. This chowder in Pike's market Seattle was outstanding. Definitely the second chowder I have ever had. It was delicious and if you're ever in Pike's market and you're feeling like chowder, this is a must try chowder. Amazing !

Very good chowder tho a little expensive, but that's to be expected. We got the sampler which included New England Clam Chowder, Seafood Bisque, Smoked Salmon Chowder, and Crab & Oyster Chowder. Our favorite was the New England clam chowder and crab & oyster chowder. Very limited amount of seating. If you don't want to wait in line, online order is pretty quick and a very good alternative. But if you do online order, then you technically aren't allowed to sit in their seating area.

I was on vacation in Seattle on 5/14/24 and I couldn't go to New York without visiting "Pike Place Chowder" and tasting the famous clam chowder, the lobster rolls and the smoked salmon Chowder. I really recommend them. delicious and unique.
