Pierogi Kitchen

Impeccable food! Came in on a Saturday night and were immediately seated. I've been so excited to try this place and get all my household favorites all in one spot. Let me just say--All the food is incredible and this place is going to become a staple for us. Pierogi kitchen serves up six pierogi per order and I dare say, has better pierogi than some of the oldest and most popular Polish restaurants in Chicago. We ordered the potato & cheese, brisket, and truffle pierogi. All three were incredible, but the potato and cheese was an absolute favorite. The truffle pierogi were perfect, slightly greasy, but absolutely a gem. Brisket pierogi were tasty and a twist on "meat" pierogi. Next up we had our classic potato pancakes and bigos. Holy moly the bigos was cooked perfectly, lovely amount of sourness with the sauerkraut. Food was so great that we even ordered more to go! Loved the ambiance and variety of drinks. There's both an indoor and outdoor section. All the food was served on beautiful plates purchased from Poland. All around incredible experience. While we had a good experience, our server almost ruined the experience by blatantly over sharing information at any point she could. She started off the conversation with phrases such as "okey dokey," then kept saying that she didn't know why she was saying them followed by admitting that she was tipsy. Went into a conversation about a different guest there being in her 60's and having great genes. Then she went on to talk about the good genes in her family and showed off photos of her 97 year old grandpa, dad, and brother. It was all around too much. After discussing this experience with another friend who lives in the area, they also mentioned issues of the same server over sharing information when they were there. I would love to come back here but if I would kindly request to have the manager or owner speak to the server and have them not drink on the job and not over share.

Stellar meal on an off day in Chicago! My partner and I split a kielbasa platter along with an order of brisket pierogies, and washed it down with authentic polish beer. The kielbasa was delicious, as were all the fixings in the platter. The pierogies were good too, though I found the brisket inside to be a little dry.. nothing the sour cream and butter couldn't fix!Really appreciated this spot for one of my favorite cuisines, and would absolutely recommend to others!!

This place was amazing. The best Polish food I have had to date.Started with the brisket Pierogi and wow the texture of the wrapper along with the delicious brisket were a 10/10.I also had the hunters stew and the sour kraut and sausages in it were so good. Not too big of a portion to have as an appetizer.Can't wait to go back here. Top notch food and service.

Excellent food, service and a cute restaurant that you need to try. Best pierogis (next to mine lol) inChicago. Just wish they were grilled/lightly fried/sauteed to add a little brown to them. The bacon added was a great touch. The baby kale salad was extremely good and a good portion size. Stuffed cabbage was also great. I'm so glad we tried this place.

I've been on a Yelp hiatus, but my recent trip to Chicago forced me out of retirement to review some EXCELLENT establishments including Pierogi Kitchen. I was in town for a Conference, and had a free morning and afternoon downtown. I was on a mission to find some really good Polish food. It's been 7 years since I lived in Poland I've missed authentic dishes like Zurek and Bigos. Both of which I was able to find a Pierogi Kitchen and I was so happy!Upon arrival, I was greeted warmly by the server. I sat at the bar since I was dining by myself. I started things off with a walk down memory lane with a glass of Zywiec with raspberry syrup. Ahh the nostalgia. I ordered zurek and bigos because they are hard to come by in my hometown. Both were served in a cute little crock with some toasted rye on the side. Everything was sour and salty and perfectly delicious! I enjoyed the added micro greens as a garnish giving these tranditional dishes a little bit of modern flare. The ambiance of the restraunt is similar - like a little staropolska chata, but with a modern twist. It's easy to get to too - just a short ride on the blue line to Daemen and a short walk. The neighborhood is alive and filled with shops and restaurants and people. I could see this becoming a regular haunt if I lived in the area.

My boyfriend and I were randomly on a walk and stumbled across this place. We decided to give it a try even though we do not have much experience with polish food. I'm so glad we did!The flavors in the truffle pierogi were amazing accompanied by the butter and onion sauce. The flavor of the pork shoulder in the meat pierogi was so good too!I also got the polish sausage sandwich, which was massive.The staff was fast, and we had a lovely time sitting outside on their outdoor patio. Can't wait to come back and try more!

Friendly service and lovely Polish food. A large group of us sat outside at the patio at a wonderful evening on a Saturday. It has been very pleasant. The server consistently came to check on us, refill water and put in orders.We tried a number of dishes. Here are my favorites:1) Hunters stew is my favorite dish. It is a flavorful dish with sauerkraut, sausage and watercress. The sausage tastes delicious and lean. 2) Brisket and truffle pierogi are the best among all the options. I underestimated how filling they are. They ran out of the cabbage dish, though this is one thing I like to try.

Overall Thoughts: Pierogi Kitchen is a relatively new restaurant in Wicker Park that opened doors in January. The food is fantastic! I dream of having those pierogis again. The vibes were kind of random-- a strange mix of sports bar and sleek modern restaurant-- but it was still nice and the service was friendly and casual. The food was a lot more filling than I expected, so the prices are reasonable-- my friend and I split everything, spent ~$24 per person including tax/tip, and left stuffed. When we got there at around 7:30pm on Saturday, it was pretty crowded but we were seated immediately. Food I tried:- Brisket Pierogi (4.9/5): So delicious! The handmade skins were so fresh, elastic, and creamy. The brisket filling was incredible-- so rich in flavor and succulent--not dry at all. - Truffle Pierogi (4.9/5): This was another stellar pierogi option. Superbly creamy, rich, and decadent, the truffle flavor really shone through. - Hunter's Stew (4.5/5): Another excellent appetizer full of umami flavors. The sausage was delicious and aromatic, and the onions and mushrooms perfectly absorbed the savory flavors. The sourdough was also fresh and tasty.-- Price (relative to peers): 4.3/5Food: 4.8/5Ambience: 4.7/5Service: 4.7/5Overall Value: 4.7/5

Came here as a party of three Saturday evening. We were seated promptly. The service was decent, little bit slow. Ambiance was homey and cozy, like Pierogi's should taste! We were recommended the Potato Cheese Pierogi's. I ordered them, as well as the Brisket Pierogi's and some fries. Our order of fries was forgotten, but was later brought up and comped. The Pierogi's were the star of the show. Absolutely delicious! Definitely come here for a Pierogi dish, it's in the name! If it was socially acceptable, I would lick my plate.

I really enjoyed Pierogi Kitchen!! Found out from our lovely waitress that this spot recently became Pierogi Kitchen and was a BBQ joint before. The drinks were delicious and the food even better!!! Everything was so flavorful and filling. Those brisket pierogis are no joke, you got to try them!!! I was absolutely obsessed with the plates too. This spot was just what I was looking for in this area. I am so excited to see it grow since it is new! Our waitress was awesome too and giving great recs and so personable, ugh I wish i remembered her name. Love it!!
