Went to lunch here for business and ordered the fried calamari for an appetizer and it wasn't the best that i had, there wasn't lot of flavor just in general, but, I ordered the Ravioli "piccolo sogno" and LOVED it. Such great flavor and the perfect portion for lunch. We sat outside and it was the perfect day to sit out side not to mention the setting was beautiful and covered, so even if it was super hot we were shaded. If you visit and it's available you MUST sit outside.Loving forward to having lunch here again soon.

If you are looking for a romantic environment, great service, decent entrées, and a Much older demographic, then this is the ideal place. It was a sea of grey and Silver heads all around. The gnocchi could have been more flavorful, but the lasagna was perfectly seasoned. They had a Decadent chocolate lava cake with strawberry ice cream. The service was great - our server came to check in frequently and they allowed my handsome date and I to stay and talk even though they were closing.

My husband and I came here for our wedding anniversary and overall it didn't really deliver. The back patio is the main draw as it is very lovely with all the greenery and twinkle lights, but even that had some downsides. We came on a warm summer day and couldn't feel any of the breeze since the patio is enclosed with a tall gate. We were also sat in between two other 2-top tables that felt uncomfortably close. Our server was very quick and to the point. Didn't really engage with us much but wasn't rude or anything. The food was probably the most disappointing part of the evening. We ordered the calamari & antipasto platter to start. The calamari was nothing to write home about, just came with some lemon slices and no sauce. The antipasto platter was also lackluster, not much flavor to the veggies but the Parmesan cheese was good, just came with two small pieces. We both got a pasta dish for our entree- the paglia e fieno was wildly oversalted, to the point that I couldn't taste much of anything else. The pappardelle was okay, but the wild boar ragu it came with essentially just tasted like beef stew. The best part of my dining experience was the margarita I ordered from their cocktail list (which is ironic for an Italian place.)This was our second time dining at Piccolo Sogno; our first was pre-Covid and I remember it being much better. Unfortunately this will likely be our last time as well.

We had a great time tonight at Piccolo Sogno. We ate on the patio and it was spectacular, far beyond my expectations. We had a group of seven and ate a variety of things, all family style. Two favorites include the Beet salad, gnocchi. Loved the Calamari/shrimp, haddock, branzolhi, as well as several pastas, three deserts, wine and espresso. It was all great. The service was excellent too. Great Food and Fun!

On a weekday lunch time, no reservations required. Things weren't too busy and service was prompt. Interior is beautiful and huge, but well spaced out so you don't feel crowded. There is beautiful garden seating, but it wasn't open yet in May. Bread and salad were fresh and inviting. Calamari was great, but not too good to share between 4 people. I could have eaten it all by myself. Pork felt a tad dry, but salmon was top notch. Bass was also delicious. Overall, everything was delicious and inviting and the servers were especially attentive.

A big group of 12 of us had a reservation booked prior for a Friday night for a friend's farewell dinner. Inspite some of us being late, we got the table on time. Romantic, intimate, incredible service is what I would describe about the atmosphere. You are transported to a rustic italian antique house upon entering the restaurant. The service was a little confusing at times, but professional and courteous. The food will warm you. There were so many fun things to try. We shared ravioli, roasted potatoes, margerhita pizza, burrata. While the food was good, but it was not exceptional compared to prior times I had eaten it.However, their wine collection is pristine and pairs well with just about anything on rhe menu. We ordered a bottle of red and white wine each. I enjoyed the wine a lot. Between my friend and I, we finished the entire bottle of Chardonnay. They were reasonably priced and it is definitely a heavy pour if ordering by the bottle. I was a bit bummed that they didn't have the tiramisu on the menu any longer so we ended up ordering the lemon panna cotta and the mille fogile which was pretty good. Overall, a great experience... Def recommend this place!

Piccolo Sogno has a nice vibe and the service was authentic. Though I did feel like it was a little bit too warm inside. We started with the prosciutto di Parma and the burrata for appetizers and they were good - the burrata dish was unique.I ordered the Pappardelle Con Cinghiale as my pasta and honestly it was just okay.We got desserts - cannoli and hazelnut chocolate cake and they were both delicious.

Piccolo Sogno has been a staple of the Chicago restaurant scene for many, many years and it's not hard to see why. We were here during the cold weather and enjoyed sitting on the back patio that always heated and tented to be like an indoor dining area. Our waiter was attentive and knowledgeable and made sure that dirty dishes did not sit on our table for more than a minute. All of the food was delicious! I enjoyed my cocktail too. I'd definitely recommend the burrata appetizer and listening to the list of rotating specials because they are always fantastic.

Came here for a casual lunch. Really nice interior with grand arches and a big patio. Started with three types of bread and ate it with a mixture of olive oil and a balsamic vinaigrette. Probably the best balsamic vinaigrette I've ever had. For my entree, I got the spaghetti neri since I'm a sucker for a mix of seafood with pasta. Big fan of the black spaghetti just for the uniqueness. Good amount of mussels, clams, and shrimp with tons of calamari. A few tomatoes on top of the red sauce tied everything together. While this dish had everything I wanted, it did lack a little in flavor. I felt it could have used more salt and time together in the pan. Overall, great Italian vibe with tasty bread and good pasta.

Pre-meal: Reservations advised. Valet parking.Room: Beautiful outdoor patio. The trees, greenery and lighting create an oasis.Picture-taking: Natural light outside, can't speak for inside.Beverages: Good WBTG and cocktail program.Menu: Pretty straightforward Italian. Apps, pasta, pizza, secondi and dolci. Nothing strays too far from the familiar.Food: Be sure to ask for the house 15 yr aged balsamic vinegar! Generally the food was good but is not going to win any awards. Fried calamari and octopus appetizers were spot-on. Margherita pizza was just ok. Green nettle gnocchi was good and the veggies on it were nice but was this a pasta dish or veggie dish? The roast duck was very nice. Pork saltimbocca and the meat ragu pastas were decent but nothing too special. Service: Very good.Price: Moderate. FYI they charge 3% service charge to use credit card.Value: Good.Summary: Come for the beautiful outdoor space.
