Piattini's is an Italian restaurant on Newbury St. that's known for its small plates and great pasta. It's semi-walkable from the Boston Public Garden/Boston Commons and the Boston Public Library. It's also close to the Copley Green Line Station. There's outdoor seating and indoor seating, which usually fills up on the weekends. Indoors is a bit crowded and dark but it has a nice date vibe to it. The servers were really nice & brought us bread/water quickly even though it was busy. The bread was delicious but my favorite thing on the table was the rigatoni alla vodka. Before adding the red chili flakes, the pasta was a great balance creamy and tangy. Once the spices were added, it elevated the dish to the next level. I originally thought that the portion size was small for the price, but it was surprisingly filling. This pasta has been added to my top 3 favorites. The pizza was good - it tasted like an average Margherita pizza. The ratio of cheese to sauce to crust was nice and the flavor was the right amount of tomatoe-y. Both dishes were great for sharing. I'd definitely recommend coming here while you're visiting Boston for a classy and hearty meal after strolling Newbury St!

The food & drinks we got were decent! However the wait for food was somewhat long. The ambiance was cozy - we were in the back room. I think this is where they serve the "large parties" of 6+ people so it was very loud.We had a large party - so 20% gratuity was automatically applied. Explains the sub-par service from our waitress and her slight attitude.

This is a late review but the food was too great not to share! We were visiting from California for my birthday and decided to come here for dinner. It was not surprisingly busy, but they had tables available outside. Although it was cold, we decided to brave it!Our server was attentive and friendly, a little forgetful but it could've been because it was so busy.We ordered the Frutti De Mare (white wine sauce), Short Rib Bruschetta, Prosciutto Pizza and I had a couple of Spicy Margaritas. The food was incredible! It started to rain a bit but we stayed to keep eating! The Prosciutto Pizza was my favorite. We'll definitely be coming back next time!

Initially we were seated in a high traffic area we weren't fond of. When asked if we could move, they took care of us We started the evening with a basket of very tasty rustic chewy bread accompanied by nice olive oil & a bottle of Sangiovese My husband & I both ordered pasta dishes. He had the shrimp scampi which was a little under seasoned & I had the fussili al pesto. I especially liked the mushrooms added to this very creamy pesto dish. Red pepper flakes & some salt sealed the deal.Large portions. Left with tomorrow's dinner! Attentive waitress Christine. Being a Friday night & on busy Newbury St., it was quite crowded & noisy both inside & out. Made reservations. Was seated right away You can hear other conversations all around you so a bit tough to chat. Warm lighting and attractive wall decor. Overall, a pleasant night.

I recently celebrated my birthday at Piattini, and it was such a great experience! Three of us ordered the shrimp scampi, and everyone loved it. I decided to go for the chicken pesto, and it was so flavorful and delicious. The portions were perfect, and the cozy atmosphere made the night even better. Highly recommend for a relaxed meal with friends!

Came on a Sunday night for a party of 3 and there was no wait. Service was friendly and quick. Our server, Christian, was knowledgeable and gave several recommendations based on what we were looking for.The bread for the table was a simple rustic bread with fluffy chewy interior and hard crust. They will ask if you want bread. Two of us shared the Boscaiola which was rich but because it is vegetable based, filling but light. I really enjoyed the creamy mushroom flavor and the peas were a sweet addition. We also shared the Burrata Raviola. I am not very familiar with burrata, but is like a creamier version of mozzarella cheese. There is just the right amount of truffle flavor in the dish.A cute, casual spot for an informal date night or girl's night out.

Cute, quaint restaurant. Excellent panini sandwich. The goat cheese melted in my mouth. Margarita pizza was good but too thin for a Chicago native. I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

Dinner also accompanied by some mozzarella sticks and wine with the girls! Pasta was delicious and the portions were quite large which I appreciated. The restaurant is actually much larger than it looks from the outside and very peaceful inside. Our waiter was very attentive and helpful as well. Overall, a great place for a nice meal!

Came here for brunch one Sunday and ate outside (always fun having a patio brunch on Newbury street). First of all, they don't have a brunch menu which is disappointing. So I ordered the pasta Bolognese. It was a generous portion which I appreciated however, the pasta was overcooked and honestly I can make a better bolognese at home. Not to say it was bad, it was actually good but I'm not sure I'd get it again. Our waiter was great, however. My friends all ordered wine and with it came a little description card. After I ordered water and jokingly asked where my card was, he brought out a hilarious card describing my water. Service: 5/5Ambience: outdoor 4/5Food: 3/5
