Oh man....The Fry Bread House just earned a repeat customer. I went to this spot whilst I was in the area. I heard about this spot and it did not disappoint!! I had the ultimate taco, burrito, and sampled the green chili stew. At first glance the ultimate taco seemed light, but it was very filling. It was loaded! Excellent overall taste. The burrito was very filling and seasoned. The green chili was the killer dish. Very well seasoned, a bit spicy, but clearly it was slowly stewed for hours. Add in the fry bread on the side for dipping and you are in for a treat.Excellent spot.

I am so disappointed. I have been stalking this place out for some time now. The first time we wanted to go, we found out they closed at 8pm. The second time, we tried for an earlier dinner but when I called to order they said they were "having a private party".Third times the charm? Well I was super excited to finally have successfully placed/picked up my order. When I opened it up, I looked at it and was so sad by this pathetic, disgusting looking thing they gave me. Please look at the pic. This "Ultimate Taco" was an ultimate failure. There's a few shreds of lettuce. A small dab of sour cream on the edge. I couldn't see meat but assumed it was just blending with the beans. This looks NOTHJNG like all of the pics the others have posted. Their taco look robust and vibrant. I saw them making it with Guy Fieri, his looked great like the many pics. I picked it up to eat as everyone else is able to do in all the videos. There was a big hole in the side I tried to keep together....I know it's supposed to be a little messy, but the whole thing just ripped in half and fell apart. I rolled it up and just ate it with a fork and knife...I think I tasted some meat in ONE of the bites, but the rest was just beans. The fry bread was all soggy and the worst I've ever had in all my years eating it at the state fair. I am so upset, I will not be giving them a second chance with my own money. Maybe they'll reach out and make it right, but I'm not holding my breath.

I have been wanting to try fry bread for a REALLY long time and I finally got my chance here and it did not disappoint! What we ordered:- ultimate taco w/ green chili beef: best decision! the green chili had so much flavor and the fry bread was so crispy!- green chili beef stew: I regret not coming back and getting this again. This stew tasted homemade. It was so flavorful and tasted even better when we dunked our fry bread in the stew. It's a bit small on the inside and we got lucky because my group went there during off hours and we got a table immediately. I wish I had a chance to try the sweet/dessert fry breads. I can't wait to come back!

Grabbed an Ultimate Fry Bread Taco w/all the toppings and red chili beef. Large enough to share just for a snack. The beef had a good, "stewed for hours" depth of flavor. The bread had a good chew to it. It was good, for the novelty, and to try something different. With tax + tip it was ~$18 for a taco. Just be prepared. Best eaten on site, but the seating area is limited. There is an outside tent area w/fans if you want to brave the heat. Great spot to grab a quick bite if it's a group of 2-4, but not ideal for larger groups.

This was my first time having fry bread and I loved it. I ordered two fry bread tacos, one red chili beef and one green chili beef. They both had great flavor but the green chili is the winner, it was tender and a bit spicy. I also had the sweet fry bread which was covered in honey and powdered sugar. It was ok, I think I would have liked it better with no honey. The cashier definitely didn't make me feel welcomed. She was kind of stoned faced so I didn't ask any questions about the menu I just ordered what I thought I would like. The inside is very small. It maybe had seven or so tables so I waited a short time before a table became available. There is plenty of covered outdoor seating but it was too hot for me to want to eat outdoors.

Fry Bread House featured on Guy Fieri's Diners, Drive-Ins, & Dives. Of course, you gotta try it!This tiny restaurant has probably only seven tables of various sizes. So, when they get crowded, it can be a pain to find a seat. But, thoughtfully, they have two non-gender restrooms. The cashier was friendly and helpful. I asked which beef they are famous for? "The Red Chili Beef."Beef Taco: Your choice of beef, cheese, and lettuce on a fresh fry bread (4/5). I chose the Red Chili Beef, which is chunks of beef with onions and Red Chili pods. The beef was flavorful and tender. The lettuce and cheese provided the crisp freshness and the cheese provided the savory/saltiness to this taco. The fry bread is crunchy, chewy, with the pockets providing the extra crunch. The shape reminds me of a Naan, but with the dough like a Chinese donut you eat with porridge.Powdered Sugar Fry Bread (4/5). Simple, crispy, and delicious. Beware the powdered sugar can get everywhere. Tip: It is better to order the sweet fry bread later so you can enjoy it hot/warm. Anything fried in oil, obviously, it's good to eat it right from the fryer.

My friend declared, "What Taco is worth fifteen dollars." My dining partner pronounced it all delicious: a place to revisit. Included is a photo with a tape measure, for those who search for a "value meal" and prize size, the bigger the better. There are approximately 33 separate items on the vegetarian friendly menu. The top RIGHT section lists "Simple Fry Bread". They also have a children's menu & sweet fry breads, The chocolate sweet fry bread is drizzled with thick dark rich slightly bitter chocolate. Honey is the traditional topping. Tradition is the winner by a hair. . It is tough to choose. The interior is not large. It is clean as is the rest room. There are many seats outside. Over all it appears handicap accessible. If you are planning to go during the summer, however go at an off time, 11:30 or 12:45. Fry Bread House is very busy, as you will see when you enter the parking lot. The Native American Food at Fry Bread House won an award from New Times and the James Beard award for excellence. James Beard stood for good food, honestly prepared with fresh, wholesome, American ingredients. The "New Times", more contemporary, lauded Fry Bread House as well. There is good uniquely Native American food to try, in an eatery that tries to accommodate almost anyone. Read the menu with care. You will find value.

Came here for lunch on a Wednesday afternoon. Had basically no wait to order and our food came out very quickly afterwards I had never tried fry bread before and really enjoyed it! I had the combo taco with red chili beef. The beef had a tasty but not overwhelming kick. The soft, slightly sweet taste of the fry bread was nice twist on my usual taco experience. I could totally see this style being a regular part of my taco rotation if it were available to me at home.We also tried the honey and powdered sugar fry bread for dessert. It tasted just like a thinner zeppoli, with the main difference being the honey, which coated it to the point our fingers were covered after. I enjoyed it, but felt a little one note, especially after having fry bread with our mealI overall had a good experience and definitely would recommend checking it out if you've never had fry bread before. However I don't know if there's enough variety to warrant multiple visits

Came here on our last day in Pheonix since we had to try out the Fry Bread. Restaurant is a no frills spot with seating indoor and outdoor. We got in line and got 1 order each of the Ultimate Taco and Chocolate & Butter Sweet Fry Bread. They brought the food over to us soon as it was ready. The Sweet Fry Bread was good but I'm not crazy into sweet, my wife and friends seemed to enjoy it alot. The Ultimate Taco Fry Bread was amazing. Crispy on the outside with plenty of delicious filling on the inside. Wish i had a chance to eat more things on their menu. Will definitely need to come check it out again the next time we visit! Definitely a must try it you're in the area!

Fry bread or tacos? What about fry bread tacos! Flour, shortening, baking powder, and salt are mixed together. The dough is rolled and flattened until it is the size of a plate. Then the bread is fried in oil until it is fluffy and golden. Toppings are added and it all gets folded up like taco. The Fry Bread House is located on the corner of 7th and Hazelwood. They have a small parking lot; we got the last open space. Cars do leave occasionally if you're willing to wait. Sometimes there are spots on the street nearby. If that's full too, you can park in the residential area if you're willing to walk. Seating inside was all taken, but they had two fold-up tables and a canopy tent set up outside. The consistency of the freshly made fry bread is delicately crisp on the outside while being soft and doughy on the inside. It does get somewhat soggy as time goes on, which makes the taco fall apart more easily. Don't take too long to eat. I enjoyed the Vegetarian Taco, it came with a good amount of refried beans, onions, chili strips, sour cream, and lettuce. Everything was fresh. The Ultimate Taco was hastily assembled; it was served with several toppings that already fell out of the fry bread. Had to fix it for the picture. No complaints on taste though. The Beef taco had the lowest filling-to-bread ratio, but the meat was flavorful. Worth putting on your itinerary if you're visiting Phoenix for the first time!
