Our server was very pleasant and apologized to us for not knowing much English but she did fine. We got complimentary chips and salsa. In reasonable time our orders arrive. We both thought our platters were good. Everything was fresh tasting and prepared to perfection. I had the pescado a la diablo. It tasted like a mild white fish that might be similar to swai. All were very good and the handmade corn tortillas were light and not crumbly the way the purchased ones can be.The food took a little while to come out which is a good sign as it was fresh. The also brought out freshly sliced cucumbers and pickled carrots and jalapeños. Two sauces in squeeze bottles added to the bright flavors, a lighter jalapeño sauce and an orange color fiery one. They have the menu on a digital display and it also rotated pictures of menu items in the lower right corner which made us want to try the flour tortilla quesadillas and the beef birria. We noticed they have chilies relleno too which we hope to try in the future."

Personally I don't love the onion and cilantro usually, and this place leaves all of that off so you can add the amount you prefer from the salsa bar, so I definitely loved that! I also got the blueberry lemonade drink which was SO sweet.. but it hit the spot for this Minnesotan adjusting to the desert climate.The rest of the group got the gamut of the menu and all agreed the food was good. Only downside we saw was that they seemed a little disorganized and their opening time was confusing. Google says one thing, website says another.. then they opened at a random time in between. Those are the people that just drive by and miss out on true cultural greatness. In my experience, the more of those boxes you can check, the better the food.This place seems more focused on sweets and treats, which I had none, so I can't review around that. I was here for ramen and birria tacos. First, the ramen was fantastic. You get a side of limes, onions, cilantro, salsa and cabbage. It's a serving big enough to share and I enjoyed it very much. Of course, I used it to dip my birria tacos!The birria tacos were good, not great. However, my personal preference are birria tacos oozing with queso, cooked longer with more browning and crispiness, and with the tortillas dipped in the birria consommé before griddling. You can see by my photos these aren't like that, but they are good, traditional birria tacos and I'm not going to deduct them because of a personal preference.And though it would be an easy target, I'm not going to deduct them for location, storefront architecture, interior design or handicapped accessibility. Frankly, more people need to recognize "places like this" wouldn't likely exist if they had to follow those standards. My husband got carne asada tacos, I got a nopales burrito, and we shared a quesadilla. We were both surprised that they don't sell sides of rice or tortilla chips. We did know about the No tortilla chips beforehand so we bought some at target beforehand to bring home haha. We got our food to go and it was ready in a reasonable time, customer service was really good, the guy working the register was nice! I got both of the salsas at the salsa bar and we took our food to go. Their joes sauce is like a thousand island which isn't bad but on a burrito it was kinda weird honestly.
