Came here with my sister before a show at the Van Buren across the street. We both loved everything! We're huge fans of sitting at the bar and socializing, their bar atmosphere is made for exactly that! The best thing we had was the brussel sprout appetizer... they were insane! Definitely a must try for any veggie lovers!

Come here if you're going to a show nearby. The restaurant is a stone's throw from: AZ Financial Theater, Crescent Ballroom, Ziggy Stardust, Van Buren, and Orpheum. If you have a show to go to, come here before or after and you won't be disappointed. It's a smart choice from all the nearby options because the food menu is quite extensive and surprisingly good. I enjoyed the spicy chicken sandwich (not that spicy) and everyone else at my table really enjoyed their meals as well. You'll be hard pressed to find parking for this restaurant but when you do you'll be happy it's so well located to other spots. In terms of ambiance, it looks like any other pub or sports bar on the inside, nothing surprising about the interior including the service but it'll be a good time none the less.

This is a good location downtown. My friend and I have been wanting to try it. The scene is welcoming and the vibe is quite chill. If you're a big beer fan and want to support local brews, this is your spot. I'm not the biggest beer fan, so my review will be more on the food in general. I did get a passion fruit lemon drop cocktail that was pretty good though. We had a comedy show later so decided to stick with appetizers so we could avoid leftovers we couldn't take home with us. My friend got the fried pickles and seemed to enjoy them. I got the soft pretzels with beer cheese which was tasty. We shared their Kentucky fried chicken and it was fine. Lacked some seasoning to be honest. Overall the food was decent, but again the vibe was the best part. The staff were really friendly. It's cool inside with some local art and the alcohol is displayed pretty beautifully. It's also a good spot to watch some games on the tvs, but not so distracting for those who aren't there to watch.

Nice restaurant in Downtown Phoenix area that provides a more chill environment than most of the other places around here. Big drink menu and so many options. Food was very tasty. I would say prices were a little pricier than most, but with the formal atmosphere it made sense. I thought the servers and hostess team were great. Checked on us often but not overstepping - just a perfect amount. I would definitely recommend for a nice start to the night before potentially going to a few bars to finish the night.

Tried out State 48 last night for the first time. It was a Friday night and around 4:30-5:00. The place had people in it but not too many. We easily got seated and promptly given water and menus. Our server was Terry. He is what I prefer in a server. Not hovering but attentive to his tables. I have lately been in a lager/beer/ale mood. So state 48 has a lot to choose from. The menu is very descriptive and includes the IBU ratings for their selections which is really helpful in choosing your drink based on your taste. For food there is a decent selection. I ordered the pb & j burger. Now normally I like this burger no matter what. This particular one had to be one of the best I've had. There was enough peanut butter for you to know it was there but not dripping off the burger once it was heated up from the burger. The peach jalepeno jam was a perfect compliment. Looking around the restaurant was very active. There are psychedelic murals on the walls that seem to make the place. Interesting to look at and fun at the same time.

Met an old buddy for dinner but sampled a few brews beforehand... sun cast and the mango wheat were tops in my book!Opted for the fish & chips, though the fish came out a bit greasy.Ambiance is graffiti industrial beer hall, service was spotty away from the bar, and prices were ok... I like the other location better...

A nice place to enjoy some local cold ones in a very casual and open environment! More like a backyard party that you can enjoy a casual relaxed time with some friends and family. Food is good and service is OK. A bunch of outdoor games to do more than just eat and drink, but, instead have a more casual interactive experience.

I came here several years ago, and it was definitely a one star. I came back and gave it another chance, and I have to say that it has improved, but there are still some things that are missing. The food was average, the prices were over inflated, and the service was absolutely horrendous.

Wow, this place has great ambiance and great food! Stopped in for food before a concert and I loved this place. We were seated quickly and a server was with us just a few minutes later. The ambiance was old-timey and fun. I especially liked the ceiling fans. The burger and fries were great and the beer was good I'd come back again without hesitation!

Came for 4 dollar beers during HH, which is from 14:00-18:00 (2-6). We ended up ordering the Brussels sprouts and fries and both were so good! Our friend ordered some wings and they were saucy and yummy too! The place is really big with tons of seating so great place to hang with friends or celebrate!
