Michael S. "Amazing Japanese-style ice cream! Hard to find such high-quality, authentic desserts in Phoenix, especially natural (not artificial) ones like these. A mix of traditional Japanese flavors like matcha and red bean, American ones like cookies, and Mexican ones like dulce de leche. I recommend the matcha or uve ice cream with the taiyaki fish, which is like a soft waffle cone with your choice of filling. The place is very clean with a beautiful, simple style that will make you want to sit down to enjoy your treats. The staff is helpful and friendly. We are going back for the mini-fish with filling!"

Amy F. "Overall: This place is like a Mexican junk food store haha.Price: Tt's decent.Tip: They do charge 50 cents for using a card if it's under $10. I have been here about a few times now. Although I stand out a lot since I'm probably the only Asian that comes by to their store haha. But Each time I come here I order their Mango Vase or Vaso de Mango cause I love mangos with Mexican spices, seasonings, and chamoy in it. It's $6 for a regular size up or $7 for a large. I normally get the regular one since that's already a lot of mango slices in one cup. They really pack it in too which is awesome and worth the price. They have a huge variety of choices of fruit snacks, drinks, and ice cream. They also have chips where they can put in like cheese and other type of things in it. This is like a typical Mexican store with Mexican music playing and it seems like most families come here with their children. It's definitely a place to check out if you like fruits, or Mexican Frescas, and ice cream. I don't mind standing out in a different environment when it comes to food haha."

I absolutely love Dole Whip and it tasted just like the kind you get at Disneyland. I didn't get photos of all of my children's icees but I did get one. What I thought was pretty cool is you can buy bags of circular ball ice, which is amazing in your hydro flasks and square ice cubes for your cocktails. Very cool. We will be customers for life!"

This Fruitlandia location in Mesa is quite spacious and located right on the corner of Country Club & University. Fruitlandia is known for their Mexican desserts. Popular items are their fresh fruit combos like fresas con crema, milkshakes, ice cream, shaved ice, and fruit drinks. The drinks are so colorful and full of all types of fresh fruit. I ordered the Dulce Churro for my first drink. They also have popular street food items like sonoran dogs, nachos and carne asada fries. Fruitlandia has become one of my favorite spots for a late night treat."

Jessica S. "Pretty much the only liquid in my diet is water. I thought I was going nuts as the water was tasting terrible here. My mom, husband and girls confirmed it was not tasting good. It tasted like tap water. We have been stopping here over 10 years. I shopped around our areas. The only decent water wasn't in the best area. The owner and I talked about the taste. He didn't know what was causing it and hadn't had any other compliants. I felt bad. He spent $400 having a guy come out that he says services all the water businesses in the area. He looked everything over and changed a couple of filters. The water rates great again. I don't know what triggers them to change a filter but if you as me his service guy better get on the ball. Ha ha Been trying to buy extra bottles and treats to help with my $400 trouble I caused being the only family to notice. We do drink a lot of water. I appreciate that he took care of it and didn't make me feel bad. He said he appreciated it."

★★★☆☆ 3.4 (19)

Victoria V. "I'm a Latina that married into a huge Mexican family that has taught me how to eat and enjoy all Mexican food and their so called "sweets" (candy, pastries, chips, and fruit concoctions) It's like they add CHILE (spicy powder/liquid) to everything. So here's what I can tell you... First of all, foods and sweets vary depending on the region they're from, in this case, EL ZALATE is a small city in Sinaloa (from what I was told) So everyone makes these fruit concoctions differently. Second, the names to half of their desserts don't describe what you're ordering or what they have but THANKFULLY this small spot has large colorful posters all over their restaurant for you to get a visual of what you're ordering and what's in it. You can always ask them what's exactly in them, and they don't mind leaving things out if you ask. Lastly, the place is perfect for kids and families to enjoy an evening or after school snack. It's always clean, the employees are very polite and willing to explain all of their items on the Menu. They've been pretty spot-on with the things they advise (say you don't like peanuts, chile, or a specific fruit) but it's definitely not your typical ice cream spot. This is a place that will hook it up and there's definitely something on the Menu for everyone. My husband and I tried their juices and they were too sweet for our liking for being freshly made... Hibiscus [Jamaica] juice and Horchata. Lots of places in the valley that make them differently; heck, if you go next door to the Pupusa restaurant and try THEIR Salvadoran Horchata, you'll see what a HUGE difference there is considering it's from a completely different country.I highly recommend this to everyone and anyone with a sweet tooth wanting to try something different than your typical ice cream and yogurt spot. Sitting area is big enough for small groups. In a sketchy neighborhood but trust me, there's plenty of traffic in the area, you should be okay. We got out of the bike trail headed to the University of Phoenix stadium to get a quick refresher and were sold on the first visit. Authentic Mexican desserts, snacks, and everything in between."

Instead of using ice and adding mango syrup, they use frozen mango and fresh mango pieces to the top, plus some other tamarind candy treats!I also tried their duros preparados. I chose the small strawberry shortcake with a Oreo waffle cone. It was $10 and way too big! The $2.50 Oreo cone was good but so filling & rich. The service is really hit and miss sometimes it just depends whose there.
