This speakeasy is beautiful with a nice ambience and dim lights. The beautiful decor feels like something decadent n out of the norm. The bartender is an absolute sweetheart and is so good at reccomending the perfect drink for you. I had pink punch bowl and was not disappointed, its like candy! I would definitely come here again! If youre a social person i reccomend coming in after 11 but if tou love a private intimate experience i recommend before 11. ;) all the employees are nice and this had been hands down one of my favorite bars

Sanctum is a hidden gem. If you are looking for an intimate, classy vibe, with amazing drinks, Sanctum is your place. Nicholas is a fantastic bartender who is really passionate about providing the best service. You can sit outside or in. The decor is unique and charming. Only a certain amount of people are allowed at a time, which is great for people who don't like large crowds. There is a 2 drink minimum, but the drinks are worth it and pretty big! I just wish food or appetizers were offered, though there are plenty of places to get food before. Highly recommend!

I'm so blown away that I just received a handwritten thank you card in the mail from the owner operator Nicholas! I was so shocked that he took the time and went out of his way to find my address to send this, it made my day! Sanctum is the only Speakeasy I would recommend in PHX! Absolutely LOVED!!! The vibe here!! And the bartender was....SUPERB!! He got our names, remembered them, and introduced us to the others there by name as well. The drinks....OOOOHH my goodness....THE DRINKS!! Superb as well!! The vibe is intimate, sexy, classic, elegant, and slightly masculine. I definitely recommend giving this place a try!

We came here on a Saturday at around 9:30pm. This place is only open on Friday and Saturday from 9pm-midnight so I'm glad we were able to stop by here since we wouldn't have any other time during our trip.This place is above The Grand on the second floor. There's a door that you can walk through that will take you to a tiny room that can probably seat like 20 people total. All the drinks are about $12-13. I ordered the sazerac which tasted really good. My girlfriend got the blue Wallis which she did not like because it was essentially straight gin with a dash of blue curaçao.This is a really nice speakeasy with a cool ambience. The drinks are really strong (a lot of them contain absinthe) so be prepared for that. I would definitely come back.

I cannot day enough good things about Sanctum! The bartenders are just fantastic, so knowledgeable and super friendly. They just complete the whole cool speakeasy vibe! I've been there 3 times, and each time is fantastic! I love to get dressed up to the nines and Sanctum and the amazing decor is just perfect!!

Head upstairs within "The Grand" and you'll find Sanctum! Sanctum is The Grand's speakeasy. However, it's only opened Fridays and Saturdays from 9pm to midnight. They have an interesting and creative cocktail menu. I ordered an Absinthe Frappe and it was delicious! Sweet and refreshing. It came in a pretty tall glass for $9, so well worth it.The lighting is dim but romantic, and the decor is dark and victorian. There's a balcony where you can enjoy the live music of The Grand from above.This is definitely an ideal date night spot, very intimate and seductive. Gorgeous bar and wonderful drinks! Also, the service was fantastic, the bartender was very personable and patient.

We happened to come in while trying to check out Ghost Ship, we had no idea there was a speakeasy at the Grand! Such a great experience. Nicholas was an amazing host, the music and decor was wonderful!

I can't believe that I still haven't reviewed this place. Well, better late than never. What to say about Sanctum?The ambiance alone is very nice-- a relaxed, dim lighting, with well decorated, and cozy indoor and outdoor seating areas that are oriented in such a way that it gently encourages you to meet and talk with new people. I wind up having lengthy and interesting conversations with strangers every time that I go, whether or not I'm with a party already. Every. Single. Time. It's a lot of fun! The patio is spacious and comfortable, and on nights when there is live music being played at The Grand, you can sit on the end of the balcony and listen to it from above. Really a great feel to the place, I can't give them enough praise for it. They also do event nights, where they'll have a theme or something of the like, which I think is pretty fun.The drinks are great, and much more often than not, they have some special spirit or beverage that they're mixing up for their guests, promotionally, or simply because they want to shake things up a bit with something new and exciting. It seems like every time that I stop by they have a new something or other for me to try, and in the winter months (which are coming!) it's great to step out onto the patio with your group and sip at the tasty beverages you've just gotten, fresh-made.Finally, having saved the best for last: the bartender, Nicholas. As great as the ambiance and décor is, and for as much fun as it is to go, I really do think that by FAR the most important piece of the whole affair, that the thing that really makes Sanctum what it is, to me, is Nicholas. The man has a great taste for mixology, a contagious personality, and an absurd knack for socialization. Far and away, I'd honestly say that Nicholas is at the peak of the game among his peers. If you're reading this, kudos to you, man!Sanctum is probably my very favorite spot in Phoenix, and probably abroad as well, and I encourage you to visit and support them with your patronage. Just be sure to observe the dress code and stay on Nicholas' good side-- though that last bit isn't hard at all, as long as you're a sane and decent person. However you toast-- prost, kanpai, skål, salud, na zdorovie, saúde, sláinte, cheers-- this is a place you have to visit at least once; but rest assured, you'll be back!!

Such a cool and intimate place for drinks. Nicolas the bartender is just absolutely fantastic in every way. Makes you feel like you are in an exclusive club. Highly recommend!
