Poppy’s Office

Poppy's office is a speakeasy dedicated to the late restauranteur, Paul Keeler, by his children. Located next to Liberty Station on Scottsdale rd just south of Carefree, there is a single door and lamp to lead the way. You'll enter a small office and sneak back into the library and bar. There's just something about a dark speakeasy that makes me want an Old Fashioned. In Poppy's Office it's called Something Brown, made with a whistlepig, and it's real nice. Also, if lychee is on the menu, my husband and I are trying it... so Lychee On Me was a good choice as well.We didn't try any food so...darn it...I guess we'll have to go back. I did check out the restroom, of course, and was not disappointed. I also zoned in on some of the books on the sheriff's shelves and was surprised at the choices. Blindside and The Matthew Shepherd story were shelved by us and I have to wonder if they were chosen for a reason... interesting. It's a great speakeasy that you must check out!

A close friend brought us here to experience this place! Espresso martini was delicious and the ambiance was amazing! Love the vibe!

Love this speak easy, so cozy with great drinks and atmosphere. Kasey made excellent recommendations for drinks and food. Get the Tavern tots (in fact get 2, you'll thank me)!Can't wait to come back.

I have been looking forward to visiting this spot for months- finally got my chance on Valentine's Day! FYI - they are closed Mondays! I am so glad we kept trying- despite a lackluster first impression! First I'll disclose why I docked 1 star: We were "greeted" (if you can call it that) by a "hostess" (using that term lightly) who's FIRST & ONLY words were "Do you have a reservation?". She was silent and did not make eye contact for the rest of our thankfully brief interaction- despite us thanking her for "seating" us at the bar. (Strange & awkward) Now for the good part- the ambiance inside AND the bartender totally redeems the experience! I believe our excellent bartender goes by Trevor. He was 5 star all the way. Knowledgable, accommodating, friendly, & easygoing. The vibe and attire were professional and on point (once inside that is)! While Trevor was perfectly willing and able to creat a custom craft bourbon cocktail we were considering... through his inquiries, he was able to discover what would suit us best- and he opened up a world of new-to-us tequila. We are so happy with his suggestions and thoroughly enjoyed his recommendations which elevated, not only our experience at Poppy's Office, but our libations forthcoming. The decor is moody, exclusive, and exquisite without feeling overly elegant or stuffy. A cozy speakeasy/secret library with well designed light fixtures and design made it a very enjoyable place to hang out with a friend or your own sweetheart. We really loved this place overall, and we will be back!

Cute atmosphere, looks like a library feel. The drinks were fun with cool names. I had the devil in a pink dress and it was so good. Bartenders were nice, it was very quiet when we went.

The ambiance of this speakeasy is fantastic, and the location is lovely. Unfortunately, the drinks fell short of expectations, which is a major disappointment for this type of establishment. The food is brought in from the restaurant next door, but it arrives in styrofoam containers, which isn't ideal. I'm not sure if I'll be back.

This place is located inside liberty station. It has great drinks and the ambiance is exactly how I pictured it. It is a speakeasy that is hidden in north Scottsdale, I think something that that area of town needed.

Great time, but pricey! Our server was terrific, she took great care of us. The drink that is served in the globe isn't worth the $$$$ you pay but I'm sure some will try it!

We have been anticipating this speakeasy opening as we love their next door restaurant: Liberty Station Terravita! Super cool that you are able to make reservations to sit at the bar and I recommend making reservations because it's sure to become a hotspot and it's very intimate! Happy to see Tate behind the bar as the bar manager...so welcoming to see a friendly face! The cocktails were well balanced and delicious! The carnitas tacos were the best, the steak & chicken were pretty dry but today was opening day so Im sure they will get it figured out! Pretty cool vibe inside of Poppy's sports memorabilia right when you enter before going through the hidden door! With price of the cocktails and leather menu embedded with the speakeasy name, we were kinda disappointed that our food was served in baskets and we were given plastic utensils...but again it was the first day...maybe the dinnerware did not come in on time! Overall it's worth a visit up to N Scottsdale/ Cave Creek area and a beautiful homage to Poppy!!

Kacey & Tate gave us remarkable service through a busy night, would have never expected to experience such a great experience but Adam and another person from next door restaurant who had red hair made sure we were okay. Overall would recommend, I would recommend getting the poppy's cigar, such an elaborate presentation!
