Came here for teppanyaki on a Saturday night. Place was super busy. If you want fast service this place was it lol I felt like we were rushed to order and get us out of there since it was so busy. We sat down. Ordered our drinks and minutes later ordered our meal. Chef came out quick and the show was done lol never been to any teppanyaki place in and out this quick lol I'm going to have to go back and try and experience it again when it's not as busy . We ordered filet and chicken, Veggie tempura, potstickers and sushi (forgot which one). But overall food was good and we will be back again.

We have been coming to this location for years now. Unfortunately the quality of the food, cleanliness and entertainment has gone down hill and we won't be back. We stopped in yesterday first thing we noticed were bathrooms were absolutely disgusting. Out of 3 you could only use 1. The table we sat at had leftover food/rice on it from the table before, and the hostess proceeded to place menus on top of this food. We cleaned it ourselves. Ordered food, (steak) and nothing tasted seasoned. Our Medium Rare steak was completely overcooked with our shrimpthat tasted like rubber. As far as the "show" that they use to put on, there's zero entertainment now. The only "fun" we got was setting the onion on fire. The chef we got placed with was a little disorganized and messy to the point where he squirted teriyaki sauce and it ended up on my napkin, in my white sauce and husbands shirt. It's a shame to write this review because we use to love this place. If you're looking for a place that offers similar entertainment with better quality food, check out Ryu Sushi & Teppanyaki.

Visited 2 Sundays ago and the place was nice and clam on a Sunday. The service was great and the cook was amazing but the place looked way out of date and aged like many others.

We recently visited Osaka Japanese Steakhouse while our In laws were in town. We had a group of 7, 6 adults and 1 kiddo, and as most hibachi restaurants are, great for a group. They were able to get us in for a last minute reservation, and it was quite busy! We were seated promptly and service came out promptly for beverages and any menu questions. I did find their prices to be quite reasonable, especially for the portions. The space itself was traditional, very load with the amount of tables and be prepared for A LOT of happy birthday singing. It's definitely not a spot I'd recommend for intimate settings or place to talk. With the style of the tables and noise volume, you can really only expect to hear your immediate neighbors. In addition, it's quite warm, due to the large griddles all lovers the rooms, neither of these things are unexpected when visiting this type of restaurant, but definitely something to keep in mind! My husband and I shared the filet & scallop teppanyaki and fat boy sushi roll, along with a cucumber salad. They have a $9 split charge for the teppanyaki , but bring out additional portions of the soup, salad, shrimp and rice, so honestly very reasonable. They offer a huge menu with lots of options. Our food was very tasty, portions great. We were both full and still had leftovers. One thing we didn't care for was the cucumber salad. It could be on us for not specifying, but we anticipated it being the thinly sliced pickled cucumber salad, but was in fact very thick, fresh cucumbers with a dressing. It wasn't bad, just not what we were hoping or quite wanting. Also, SO MUCH BUTTER. I do love butter, but it was crazy the amount used in the full meal. Overall, everything was good, service a little slow on bussing plates, and we did have one weird interaction with our grill chef. He was really great, but we inquired if we were supposed to tip separate between service and chef ( as he had a tip jar) or if we could leave it on the final bill. He said we were supposed to tip separate and we asked if we could pass it off to our server after we went and got some cash, he said don't worry about it and left us. We followed up with our server and he said they're both tipped on the final bill. It was just a tad odd of an interaction and wanted to make sure both of them were taken care of, but was left kind of confused. . It was good and hit the mark for any hibachi cravings, but simply due to the noisy ambiance and constant birthday singing, may not be somewhere I would run back to.

We have been going to Osaka in Gilbert for several years. We go there for our Birthday and Anniversary celebrations. It has always exceeded our expectations for good food and service.Recently we went there for my wife's birthday. We had the Teppanyaki 4 Two, our usual choice. The chef that worked our Teppanyaki section acted like he was putting in time rather than entertaining. The Vegetable's he cooked were way over done, even to a point of them being mush. Everything was so overly soy sauced, as to make tasting the meat, almost impossible. Perhaps this was just a bad night for the chef, but it certainly made us start to reconsider placing such a high regard for this establishment. Sad to see such a favorite restaurant suffer so..

Decided to come here to celebrate my son's bday since he loves teppanyaki! We started off with the soup and salad. The soup was so good I'd buy that in bulk if I could! Then for the main I ordered the chicken and calamari. Let me add in here that I'm deathly allergic to shellfish. I know it sucksssss but the cook made sure to make all of my food before preparing any of the shellfish. The chicken and calamari were really good. The fried rice and veggies were yummy too. It's a hugeeee plate of food so I have lunch for tomorrow which is a plus. They sang the birthday song and gave him some cake which he absolutely loved! Overall we will for sure be returning here for birthdays!

Overall, we had a good dinner here. We went to the one in Mesa and hated it- our food was terrible and we didn't feel good after it. We were in the plaza after getting a new phone at AT&T so we decided to stop by since it smelled so good outside and we hadn't had a sit down dinner in a hot minute. We opted for sit-down dining instead of Teppanyaki tables since it wasn't a special occasion and we didn't have a reservation. Our server was Craig, he was quite busy and flustered but he was very friendly. This place is quite loud and busy. We ordered the Ginger Shrimp & Calamari for appetizers. You also get free salad and soup depending on what you get for your entrees. The Shrimp was AMAZING. Perfect crunch and sauce. The Salad & Soup were also very good, the Calamari was not. We found it chewy and greasy. Craig took it off for us.For Entrees, my mom got the Hibachi Filet & Chicken, and I got the Steak & Shrimp Teriyaki Plate. Both came with vegetables and we added on fried rice. Everything came out very quickly and was piping hot. The meat was good quality and flavorful. The fried rice could use some more seasoning. We had to wait an additional 30 minutes to leave and cancel our Uber because their credit card machine was down. A bit of a pain. We would come back.

The service was bad, waiter forgot our salad, had to ask for it till the end. Waiter wasn't attentive. Ordered dinner box and it looked delicious, was decent but not amazing. Unfortunately my friend and I both got sick and got food poisoning. It was dinner time so they were busy which explains why they failed to properly cook or maybe it wasn't clean cooking. Manager was informed but she didn't believe us or want to do anything. I won't be coming back. Manager was the worst at handling our complaint.

I'm a fairly frequent visitor to Osaka, and despite an average review I know I'll definitely be back in the future. Osaka is definitely a go-to spot to celebrate birthdays and other special events. You can expect to hear their birthday song combined with their gong at least 10 times during your dinner --it's just part of the experience. The food tends to vary slightly depending on the chef but the routine is always the same. As far as teppanyaki goes it's a pretty basic show. Our chef from the other night (pictured) was one of the best I've had, and he gave our birthday girl lots of special attention which was nice. The food is decent and about what you'd expect, although a couple times I have gone and our food was aggressively salted. The reservation process is relatively painful. You can make a reservation but still wait up to 45 minutes to an hour past your reservation time --it just depends on when the tables are available. They really pack you into their room and focus on high turnover. Overall there's not many teppanyaki/hibachi spots in the valley and it's still a good time. It's always a busy spot no matter which day of the week, so make sure to reserve ahead for a group!
