"Fast service, great tacos, friendly staff.Just started visiting this location and am pleasantly surprised how clean and quiet it is here.Great views from the window, and don't miss out on the mango whip freeze!"
""GEM ALERT"This is NOT your average Mexican Restaurant they have something different to offer. This IS casual authentic style "Mexican City Mexico" style food. This is NOT a fancy place. You are only here for the food. The specialty of the house might be the namesake dish called the Machete. The Machete is a house made corn tortilla that is SO LARGE it doesn't fit on a plate and is served on a PLATTER. The humungous tortilla comes in about a dozen varieties and comes stuffed with a thick blanket of mild melted cheese and arrives folded. Some of the varieties are seldom offered at most Mexican Restaurants in the valley like the squash blossoms and the huitacoche (Mexican Truffle also called Corn Smut that is considered a delicacy)I had the Huitacoche Machete. At the time of this review it was only $7.99 so I didn't think it would be that large but it was enough to feed 2-3 people and I had to take half home after sharing some. It was very tasty, very good and generously filled. The Huitacoche was a more sweet, more textured kind less earthy kind than I ate in Mexico. It was mixed with sweet corn and was very interesting. I also had a Chicken Taco ($1.75) I knew it would be street sized because of the price. I liked that the house made double tortillas were hot and steamy and tasted just like the fresh ones from the tortilla factory in Mexico. The taco differed in flavor from a Jalisco Style Taco. It was a much milder tasting taco.Three sauces were offered to most people in the restaurant with the dishes but due to how busy they were we only got to try one sauce that had a little kick to it and it helped the taco out.My husband had the Huaraches with Chorizo. It was a giant platter that looked similar in size to the Machete but served open face and also came with lots of melty mild cheese.I warn you that the menu is written in Spanish but it's pretty easy to figure out what is what because of the pictures on the menu.On out visit the atmosphere was extremely loud. Mexican Music is blaring outside the building and inside is Mexican Television blaring and you hear both at the same time.On our visit they were very busy with non stop take out orders and every booth was filled with customers. Considering how busy they were I thought the service was very efficient and friendlier than I was expecting. This place should be on your bucket list if you like interesting food.I recommend ordering a Machete or a Huarache.Parking is easy they have their own large lot."
Melted Oaxacan and chihuahua cheeses, rajas, chile, and Morita salsa. Add chorizo or mushrooms for an additional charge.

Visit Restaurant Page"I have been going to Tacos Chilangos since the original location. I LOVE their fresh tortillas and authentic flavors. As soon as you walk in, the aroma of carne asada being grilled is in the air. I brag about this place to everyone or anyone who will listen! Thank goodness they opened another location in Verrado because now every time I visit my parents, I have an excuse for tacos. I always order the quesatacos and pastor (w pineapple) not every place does that, definitely the bean burrito and a Cadillac margarita. Even writing this review is making me hungry. We need mas tacos like this in the East Valley!"
"Found this place by accident, but glad I did. Fast food set up but certainly not by the tastings. The Manudo Soup was fantastic. All day simmer and the tribe literally melted in your mouth. Perfect spice. Could add more to your liking! I loved the Chile . Smothered in cheese. Best I ever had. The bean burrito was good but not too much on the pork one!!! Dry. Nachos-were good. The shrimp cocktail was good. Loaded with plenty of shrimp and avocados. Drink was a lighter version then I'm used too. Over all, cheap lunch and satisfying!!!"
"Best carne asada fries I have had in ARIZONA for same price as filibertos for 10x the quality of meat and cheese very good quality top of line for $13 big enough to share between 2 people this is a common weekly dinner spot for us you have to come try the carne they use!"
"I've had many taco's in Phoenix, Vegas, Nor Cal these are damn near the best ive had, grew tired of local food, decided to give this taco truck a try and wasn't disappointed, this is my 2nd time in 2 days. had the Adabado, and the carne asada. Both amazing flavors and reasonable 3/6$ not sure what was better the salsa or the tacos definetly fire together. They close a 6 pm on the Northwest corner of Van Buren and 48th St behind the 7/11. Had the carnitas as well 10/10 fabulous flavor, seen them naking a birria burrito looked so good."
"My family has been coming to La Piñata for over 30 years, the food is absolutely incredible!!!!The Marylou, the cheese crisp, the red chili, the enchiladas, the Chile rellenos, I could go on and on!!!! Everything is made in-house and fresh and the consistency is off the charts, everything is just excellent!!!!! And then the margaritas taste like you're standing on the beaches of Mexico, so fresh and so tasty with agave and tequila and especially the frozen ones with the Chambord on top oh my gosh!!!!! Jose making margaritas is the greatest!!!My only complaint is the hours, the hours no longer feel accommodating for their customers, it's hard for my family as well as all of our friends to try to have dinner at La piñata now, as they close every night at 8:00! And that doesn't mean you can walk in at 7:45, they close at 8 o'clock sharp. We used to be very very frequent customers, as well as everyone else in our neighborhood but now we have to make a special plan to go to Piñata and all of the other nights we all go to Ajo Al's. It's such a bummer as two or three times a week we would get off work and stop in for drinks and dinner but now with closing at 8 o'clock, it leaves us trying to get off work and race home and pick up our family and try to get to La Piñata to sit down and have dinner as they close promptly at 8 o'clock. They've extended their hours until 9 o'clock on the weekends but it's beyond frustrating trying to have dinner or even pick up dinner without having an epic plan. They changed the hours during Covid and haven't gone back, I wish they would consider their customers and do 9 o'clock during the week and 10 o'clock on the weekends, like all of the other restaurants in Central Phoenix, it would make such a difference to your customers and a lot of people happy!!!!!! Gave 4 stars instead of 5 due to close early hours."
"5 Stars honestly it's that good! Mexican food is ultimately perfect for Taco Tuesday to satisfy your expectations. Got a Surf and Turf Burrito and they got this packed with shrimp and steak, and everything tastes exactly as you would expect. The burrito was hefty in size and delicious. Since it was Taco Tuesday, there was a discount of 15% when I paid at the register. I think it also had to do with me arriving towards the end of the day while my two colleagues had almost finished their burrito's.For the next time when I'm in town, l'll try it arrive a little bit earlier to enjoy my food a little more and have more conversations. On the table was a choice of mild, medium or hot salsa. They do serve beer and horchata, but none of us were in the mood for more alcohol.Service is quick and it's a very low key casual restaurant so you'll most likely eat messy while enjoying good comfort food!"
"When I first moved to a surprise 3 years ago this place was okay..... I finally tired them out again this year and have been impressed. Their beans used to be thick and seemed out of a can now they are perfect. We got:1.Quesabirria tacos - the best in surprise 2. Creamy chipotle, chicken enchiladasWe will be back"
"This is a great little hole in the wall..I had their Chorizo and eggs and they were perfect...the salsa was just spicy enough to enhance not drown out the taste of the food...my mom ordered the eggs scrambled with green chilies and it was awesome...my dad's sausage patties and eggs was delicious...the service was awesome our sweet waitress refilled our water cups when she found out we were getting on the road...you can not go wrong with this great place...we totally enjoyed our breakfast here."
"We LOVE the breakfast burritos with green sauce on the side! We stop by after church or in the morning if we have errands to run and go through the drive thru. Super nice staff, easy drive through and the food is soooo good! We love it here at Armando's!"
"I'll take a pass. The staff at Irma's Mexican Food are warm, friendly, and extremely personable, which is why I feel terrible for calling out their Mexican food as bland, tasteless, and poorly executed. The food at Irma's isn't so much bad as it is bland, and the presentation is sloppy, even for a fast food establishment. On this visit we had the Beef Tacos and Barbacoa Sopas, all of which border on terrrible. The Barbacoa Sopas were drowned in a tastelesd red sauce with a very small amount of diced up pieces of meat, and topped off with a combination of cheese, grease, and more grease. The food could have been worse, unpleasant flavors would certainly be worse than no flavor at all.I wasn't expecting fine dining, nor was I expecting terrible Mexican dishes."

I've visited this Taco Bell a multitude of times after school and it's been consistent every time. I can't list one complaint for this location and encourage others to remember, its fast food and you get what you pay for. I'm humored by others reviews and their expectations. It's Taco Bell Karen, not Ramsay's Kitchen! Staff here are always nice, food is what'd you'd expect from a Taco Bell, will ALWAYS come back !

This is my go to place to have a meal whenever I step into the Mercado de los Cielos food court. They specialize in machetes, which are best described as a long folded tortilla (you can choose between maíz and flour) filled with your meat/vegetable of choice, cheese, and a green salsa. I go for the machete de asada or bistec, both are delicious. Choose maíz! They also sell aguas frescas (my favorite is jamaica) or sodas. To the side they have extra red salsa and a guacamole-like salsa to add more flavor to your meal. They are a *little* spicy. If you don't want salsa in your food, you can go for the quesadilla filled with your protein of choice.

My wife found this place on our way to Phoenix and it was great. I would say this is equivalent to about 3-4 tacos. They make the custom tortilla there. Service was pretty fast and the taco was very tasty. I got the combo meats. If your in the area I would check it out.

This place was such a hidden gem. I'd drove past so many times thinking it wouldn't be remarkable. But I'm so glad we decided to give it a shot! Their enchiladas, chili verde and Chilaquiles keep us coming back quite often. If you can't decide what to get, the chilaquiles are always on point. Tacos hit too!! Pastor & carnitas are my favorites of the options available. Much rather stop in here than any of the other fast Mexican food spots nearby.

From out of town and needed something quick to eat. Found this gem on Yelp with only 3 reviews and so glad I stopped by. Got a carne asada burrito and 2 pastor tacos, everything on it. The steak inside the burrito was charred in a delicious way where it has a slight crust to the meat which made it amazing. Well packed with meat if you're a meat lover. The pastor tacos came with a pineapple slice each and was the perfect bite. He gave us two salsa, a light green and a bright orange. The light green was is HELLLLLLLA spicy. And I eat SPICY! So I loved it. But it will burn, so go easy. The orange one is okay to pour on.

This is a double dose review, as we ate at La Piñata TWICE during our recent Phoenix vacation. This almost never happens, as we go into a trip with a long list of places to try. But we ate at La Piñata the first night and loved it so much we returned on the last. And we'll return when we visit next time, probably twice as well! The space is nice, but nothing fancy. It's a step above any Mexican restaurants we have at home, but only marginally when it comes to ambiance. It's not a fancy 'small portion high price' place but rather a great local option with hearty portions, nice clean restaurant, and good service all for the right price. The chips and salsa are included (hate when they add those to the appetizer menu) and the salsa was very good. We also added a 'crisp' which is basically a 12" tortilla covered in cheese. It was good - kind of like Mexican pizza. They were obviously popular because pretty much every table had one and they were being carried out nonstop by the delivery/doordash types. Both trips I had the same thing - Machaca Chimichanga. It's a specialty of theirs, and it was amazing. Perfect level of crispness, great shredded beef at the appropriate spice level. Beans were amazing, and rice was rice. I tried to switch it up on the second night but it was so good on N1 that I had to just get it again.Wife did the flautas on the first night (loved them) and the Chicken Suiza on the second. She preferred the flautas and honestly I can't remember what the second night was like other than she enjoyed it and said she'd get it again. Son was delighted on night one with his chicken quesadilla - loved it, and that's for a guy who isn't always happy when we get Mexican food. He thinks we go to too many Mexican restaurants. He isn't wrong, but I'm never changing. On night two he had the chorizo egg burro and liked it but said it was a bit spicy for him. He wouldn't order it again, and didn't finish it. He really wishes he had done the Quesadilla again or ordered another type of burro. Over our seven day visit, La Piñata earned 'favorite restaurant' honors from everyone for this vacation in the dinner category. It's a sure thing for anyone who enjoys Mexican food.

I was on the hunt for a breakfast spot in downtown Phoenix around 11:30 AM and stumbled upon a cozy little place. I inquired about their breakfast menu and was relieved to hear they were still serving. The staff member suggested the chilaquiles verde with two eggs, a dish I had never tried before. I decided to go for it and complemented it with a hazelnut latte. Despite the small size of the establishment, the atmosphere was laid-back and inviting. Overall, I found the experience to be quite enjoyable.
Visit Restaurant Page"Enjoyed my lunch at "Tacos Don Hector," an elevated taco food truck run by the friendliest husband and wife. It was kind of an outdoor patio taco Café they use fresh ingredients and quality USDA prime beef and meats. They have a small menu, but everything is really good. I tried the Taco Don Hector $6.00, Taco regular Pastor $4.00, and Vampiro $6.00, which was my favorite . They have a Groupon available to save some money, and I was able to take a Burrito Don Hector home so my wife wouldn't be mad at me for going without her. Please support them and go enjoy some delicious tacos, quesadillas, and burritos."
"Small restaurant off Main Street in Mesa...you'll miss it if you blink when you drive by. I'm glad I didn't blink! This is one of those "I can't wait to tell my ________ about this place" kind of....place. Was greeted by the friendliest person ever when I arrived and she treated me like a mom who wanted to stuff their son with food while he visited. I loved it!I went with a Green Enchilada style bean and cheese burrito that was soooo good! So flavorful and perfect. I also had a Cabaza Taco and an Asada Gordita. I wanted to drink the salsa that came with the chips...loved it! On a scale of 1 to 10, I'm definitely coming back here with friends! I gotta share this place with my inner circle!!!"
"One of the best meals I've ever had in Arizona, probably the best or second best Mexican restaurant I've been to. Nice atmosphere, luxurious but not too snobby. Very impressed with the way our server handled one of our guest's severe allergies. The food was excellent, especially the shrimp enchiladas. Will be back hopefully!"
"Found this place a few weeks ago on our way to the Arizona Humane Society. The location is not the best and I wouldn't come alone at night. However, once you are inside the food and service make up for the location. The staff is friendly and the food is authentically delicious. My husband and I love tacos We decided next time to try something new as this restaurant is known for its Oaxaca food. I am not a big chocolate fan so I am not sure if I'll like it. However, I do love tamales and spicy food! What is Oaxaca cuisine???? Great question!!Oaxaca cuisine is from southern Mexico in the city of Oaxaca. Oaxaca is well known for its ingredients of chocolate which is prepared in preparation for hot species. Oaxacan-style tamales will have variations of mole sauce (mole sauce - local papers and Mexican chocolate. This is my year to step out of my comfort food zone and try new things!"
"We enjoyed all the food we ordered and they have some great vegan options too. We got the queso, birria bowl and the vegan chicken mushroom quesadilla. Love that you can just order up front and then they bring the food out to you. Also the place was very clean and the food overall was great for clean Mexican food!"
"This location is usually the one stop a few blocks away from my friends house. So we are either ordering door dash in the middle of the night to her house, or we are all heading to the restaurant at the butt crack of dawn the next day after get together when there is no branch available yet.I have been meaning to review this location for a while since I have been eating here for the past 10 years. So here it is. More recently just in the past week, I think I have eaten here three times. Just because it is close to where I am in the errands I am running. After all, driving all day and running errands you did not want to go home and cook a five course meal.I usually have the steak burrito with pico de gallo and potatoes. Or the smaller tacos with Carne asada and rice and beans. My husband always orders something different so I couldn't tell you how many times he's gotten what in the past week. But I know that every time I order something it will definitely be with Carne asada. The one thing I order the most is their CARNE ASADA FRIES! Yummmm. The front staff is always friendly. And because they are so busy there is always a wait while eating in or for takeout. And I really really really enjoy their Horchata."
"First of all I am never in this part of town frequently. Had a friend invite me to eat here. It's a little hole in the wall place, that serves really good food. The tortillas are hand made on the spot. If it was any fresher it would Slap you. My tacos were off the hook. The place is very small has limited sitting. On the other hand the meat and products are fresh and hand made. If you wish to try this place out go during the day. I would have no problem taking my mixed group of friends here.Come on down and Enjoy...."
"This place is amazing .My husband and I have been here multiple times and love this place . The food is excellent . I have had the shredded beef red sauce burrito, carne asada & el pastor tacos . The staff is friendly and the establishment is very clean. This is my go to spot in this area ."
"I ordered the fish tacos and liked them alot. They were grilled so no breading which I prefer. The salsa bar was great and the chips were fresh. I got the mild salsa and it was very flavorful. Staff was helpful in helping me choose my order. I'd highly recommend."
"[3.7/5.0]Slid in here after the Pusha T concerr. It's freaking dirt cheap. I don't know how people are still complaining about prices. The al pastor tacos were pretty mid. Meat was dry to the bone, doused it in salsa to fix it. Carne asada burrito was steaming hot. The carne is not as dry as the pastor so I was glad when chomped it down. The perfect proportions in this burrito is something I can appreciate. Held it's shape well and its filled to the brim."
"While looking for a place to pick up dinner we came across Chispa's in the area. We decided to give it a shot and created an online order and everything we got was fresh and delicious:Ceviche - Fresh and tasty Chips and Guac - DittoCarne Asada Quesadilla - ended up saving this for the week and it was tasted great re-heated in the airfryer - lots of carne asada too!Pollo Asado and Al Pastor TacosChispas Salad with ChickenChicken Tenders/Kids BurritoPick up was super easy and on-time, they had it ready to go right when I got there. There were a few people inside - very clean and the service was friendly. I thought the value for what we got was spot on, great quality, and lot of amazing options to fit anyone's taste. Will definitely try this place again (especially breakfast!)"
"Glad we got here early because Taco Viva is a hot spot for lunch! I got the carne asada & the pork al pastor both con todo. I love that they put some sweet pineapple on the pastor, which was a nice balance between spicy and sweet. Their hot sauce has some good kick to it too! Will definitely be back."
"It's a very simple fool proof formula that I use when gauging whether or not the food will be good at a Mexican restaurant...ARROZ...yep the Rice! And at this place they nailed it. Specialties include the yummy chili relleno! And it holds true. Ooey Gooey cheese, perfectly battered flavor chilis swimming in a delicious mildly spicy red sauce! Yummy! Wow! Delicious!Chicken Flautas were devoured and they came with all the accoutrements and The chips and salsa disappeared and so did the super tasty and yummy pork tostadas. Portions are big enough to share! The Agua Frescas were refreshing and I recommend the Hibiscus flavor or as we say Jamaica (pronounced Hah-my-kah)Super friendly service too. Breakfast, lunch and dinner is served at this Oaxacan restaurant cleverly called Alabrijes which if you're familiar are these cute little colorful folk wooden carved critters that when you shop for one the Alabrije that you pick actually really picks you. And I'm happy I picked Alabrijes for dinner! My new favorite restaurant in Litchfield!! Go now and be ready to wait in line at weekend breakfast."
"LOVE LOVE LOVE. I have been CRAVING some carne asada fries like we had growing up in California. This place HIT THE SPOT These were the best carne asada fries I've had since Cali. The meat was so fresh. The fries were so crispy. And the sauce was so delicious and had so much flavor! The tacos were juicy and flavorful! The birria.... Let me tell you.... DELICIOUS ! They were the juiciest birria tacos I've ever had and I didn't even need the cosume. The prices were amazing! We got all this food for 26$ plus a drink. I cannot wait to go back. The restaurant was huge and they had a bar as well. Parking is super easy to find as well. The service was very fast!"
"A casual and chill wine right starting at Mingle + Graze with friends turned into hopping to four locations on a recent summer's Friday night in Downtown Chandler. This location was how we ended the night, and we really enjoyed the atmosphere. I felt like this location had a balance of music without being too loud where you can't hear your party. The service was friendly and quick to get drinks/refills. Additionally, the food items ordered were delicious and quick to come out of the kitchen. We only did starter items, so I can't weigh in on the food. Though, we did feel those food items were perfect accompaniments to drinks. Overall, it was definitely a location I would try again!"
"Always fresh, always clean. The salsa is my absolute favorite crispy beef tacos are my go to but I love tbeir bowls for healthier options too. Service is always stellar."
"We love this place! Although they have all types of meat, we often go for a couple of pounds of carne asada for dinner or game night but we had a NYE party, went the day of and was able to order 20lbs and I can say, they are decently priced. It comes with sautéed onion, peppers and jalapeños. Their packaged tortillas are delicious plus the pico and guac. Great food, great quality, it's really clean and the staff are so nice. The gentleman even allowed us to taste a "hangover" soup. Everything has such great flavor. Must try!"
"This place is still working out some kinks, but I really liked it for Happy Hour!I live a couple miles from here (and have lived on and off from this area for years) and I think this space has been vacant more often than not and I hope Gecko Grill is finally the restaurant that stays open for a long time.Like I said, I came here for Happy Hour (which they don't advertise on their website but I took a photo of). We got the mini bean chimis, a cheese crisp, and beef street tacos which were all great! I also like the chips and salsa they give you comes with bean dip as well. I will say the margarita I had was pretty run of the mill. Granted, I just got a standard house margarita, but when it was fairly weak (again, even by HH house margarita standards) and the first couple sips tasted lukewarm until the ice settled in). Also, they don't actually have a drink menu available right now. I think this will all come together in time. The restaurant itself is nice and service is friendly. They have a nice patio as well. I'll be back (especially since Happy Hour is seven days a week)."
"New restaurant in the Roosevelt Row area by the owners of Gadzook's Enchiladas. Let's just say it's bright and sunny inside with fun touches and colorful accents. Our server was friendly and welcoming while not being pushy. The chips were perfectly salty and the guac was good. The enchiladas were just like the ones at Gadzook's, but without as many combos. I didn't personally try any of the drinks but they had some fun looking concoctions. All in all a great addition to the area."
"Another Taco Tuesday at Oscar's. I met my girlfriend here and we both wanted tacos. One positive of our summer is that I eat less. One chicken taco was plenty. The grilled chicken is good and cooked nicely. The tortillas are soft and fresh. Staff are nice. Once you order, they remember who you are and take the food to the table. Nice touch. Shared parking spaces in this plaza."
"The food here is wonderful with the pork quesadilla and fajitas we ordered. Service was great. But you must wonder why the 3 star. Here are areas of concern:1. 7 dollar pork upcharge for quesadilla to make it a 24 dollar dish2. Charging for chips and salsa almost 10 bucks3. Charge for each side salsa.Such a great experience was ruined a bit by the bill."
"What a fantastic meal. The Camarones a la Diabla were delicious. The refried beans were very loose and that was the magic of the dish. It slowly started mixing with the spicy sauce and made a great sauce. The tortillas were soft and tasty. One of the best meals I've had in a while."
"I've dined at the Chipotle in Norterra several times with my family, and it's always a fantastic experience. The food is consistently delicious, fresh, and exactly what you expect from Chipotle. The ambiance is pleasant, clean, and inviting, making it a great spot for a casual meal. The service is quick and efficient, and the staff is friendly and accommodating. We've never had any issues, and it's become one of our go-to places for a reliable and tasty meal. Highly recommend!"
