Although they have all types of meat, we often go for a couple of pounds of carne asada for dinner or game night but we had a NYE party, went the day of and was able to order 20lbs and I can say, they are decently priced. It comes with sautéed onion, peppers and jalapeños. Their packaged tortillas are delicious plus the pico and guac. Great food, great quality, it's really clean and the staff are so nice. The gentleman even allowed us to taste a "hangover" soup. Everything has such great flavor. Must try!"

Darya S. "I'm so happy Caspian exists! As an Iranian who just moved to Arizona, I feel like I've found a tiny piece of home here. The people making purchases regarded the cashier like they were friends, so I can tell it's a tightknit local store. They have everything you could want for Iranian cuisine, from doogh to kookoo sabzi to torshi to barbari to spices to paneer. The prices of everything - besides saffron, of course - were incredibly cheap. For example, I saw a box of honeycomb for $10, whereas the same size elsewhere is double. They have premade stuff for meals, like ghormeh sabzi, in addition to all the ingredients you could need. I walked out with some feta cheese, liquid saffron, and sangak, and I can't wait to go back and pick some more things. I can tell I'll be purchasing everything they sell over time!"

My friend and I were looking for some seafood options and stopped by Tan Phat on 17th and Camelback but their meat and seafood department left very little to desire. So I stumbled upon Lam's on Google Maps and I loved how organized their market was. They had so many options of EVERYTHING. I never knew there was another type of plantain like the Hawaiian one that I found there. I wasn't brave enough to buy it (yet) buttttt this will def be my new go-to Asian market for the time that I'm in Central Phoenix."

Along with baby bok choy, curry paste, Piknik snacks and a couple of other things.Produce aisle isn't all labeled, so I had to ask for help. They didn't have the lime leaves out. The little man found me in another part of the store with a package of them. There are aisles and aisles of all sorts of Oriental foods. I could have spent a couple of hours in there exploring, but wasn't feeling so hot. That's why I wanted to make the soup in the first place.Strange odor near produce section, but I don't question those sorts of things. Spent $10 and walked out with a big bag o' stuff."

After reading the other reviews I get it....it smells funny...yup there's raw meats and exotic fruit and vegetables your nose may just be basic...yup there's stuff on the floor...onion peels, pieces of cilantro, sprinkles of flour, grains of rice... all the things you'd find in a grocery store...and there's lots of stuff most of us have NEVER seen let alone used...but all you have to do is ask! I've only been vegitarian a little over a year and most of my dishes come from asking questions..."how do you us this? What can I make with that?" You- Alishia what do you make with the food once you get it home? Me- bomb a$$ Ramon!...Do u see that Ramon bowl? Yup EVERYTHING (other then the eggs) in this bowl including the chicken thighs can from here! Oh let me not forget they also have home made tofu and it's way better the "regular" tofu...its meatier and more flavorful...(if you eat tofu you know what I mean)! All in all is it a little rough around the edges...yes most diamonds are! Was just nice to know there were Filipino options in the area. We dined in and took a lot of food to go. Prices were pretty much standard, just high. Idk why Filipino food is always on the higher end?!?***In response to the OWNER:I made a comment about the pricing. I tried to be gentle about the food quality. His response, however, was not gentle and quite confrontational. This caught me off guard. I want to be fully transparent with you and share that if the quality had been there, I would have been more than happy to pay the given prices. In the future, I would caution you against making stereotypes, lumping Filipinos together, and making assumptions after a review is posted about your restaurant."

Here you will find the usual grocery items and household goods common in Mexican stores and there is a good fresh meat section at the back portion of the store. There is also a counter selling freshly-cooked hot Mexican dishes, and fresh cold foods, especially sweets, are available in refrigerated cases; this is my favorite place for getting flan and fresh guacamole. One corner of the store also has a panaderia where various kinds of pan dulce and other baked goods are available. Prices are low and ample parking is available at the side of the store."

"I was complaining to hubby the other day that I was having trouble finding middle eastern pickles at the stores I usually get them so he did some research and suggested I make a trip to this market. While I was out running errands today I decided to stop by. I found the store pretty easily and walked in to find a well stocked market. As I wandered through the aisles, Nadia, the owner, kindly offered to help me find anything I needed. Not only did I find a great supply of the pickles I was looking for but, I also found several other things that I'd had on my list as well. I filled up my cart and headed to the counter. As I was checking out I asked Nadia if she happened to have any fresh halva. She told me she was expecting some to arrive next week but she showed me a packaged halva that she said tasted very fresh and she described it as a cotton candy halva. Well, that sold me! I purchased it right away. As she checked me out, Nadia chatted with me and made me feel so welcome. She is incredibly kind and personable! I love this wonderful market and Nadia's hospitality and will absolutely be back soon! I'm so glad to have found this hidden gem that is so close to home!ETA - Nadia did not oversell the halva she recommended, it is even better than I expected! Super light, fresh and delicious. It's hard to come here and not order the whole menu or take home a whole shopping cart of ingredients or sweets! The go to is easy - The Italian Combo Sub! The bread is so fresh and it's the perfectly sliced and portioned sun of meats, veggies and condiments. I've had it picked up for lunch and fresh - both are exceptional. My biggest pet peeve with subs is sogginess - nothing to worry about here if you can't dine in. They also serve Pizza which is also, guess, so good! It tastes lite and fresh... and like I can eat a whole one by myself and still feel perfectly okay. The owner is so grateful and kind. It's not a very big place but it does have a good variety of Middle Eastern goods and foods that you won't find in most supermarkets, and the people are friendly and helpful. Bell Rd. at Sun City Promenade has all sorts of wonderful treats like baklava, halva, etc., but this time I got some samoon pita which is like pita but has slightly different texture and taste. When I sliced it an put it in the toaster, man was it good. Its little pocket makes it perfect for stuffing with whatever. I think the leavening may be yogurt rather than yeast--at least that's what the ones I used to get elsewhere were made with. The store is clean and neatly organized. When I went, the workers were busy talking on the phone and to other customers so I wasn't able to ask questions. Maybe next time. With so many exotic items, it would be good to have assistants available to offer more assistance as many in this area are not familiar with this cuisine and undoubtedly would have more questions and would benefit with suggestions and some guidance to feel more at ease."

I went with a 2/3lb piece of carne asada, some flour tortillas and a thing of pico de gallo. Total was just over $11.00. The carne asada was BOMB! I had the guy marinate it for me, and let it sit in the fridge at work for a few hours. By the time I got home, it was all nice and cozy sitting in the marinade! I threw it on the grill for a few minutes, and it cooked up perfect. I chopped it up into pieces and made my tacos. Great carne asada! Some of, if not, THE best carne asada I have ever purchased from a Mexican grocery. $8.99 a lb and worth every cent! The pico de gallo was as fresh as can be, and reasonably priced, too. Lastly, the tortillas...... They had an 18 pack of street taco sized flour tortillas for just over $2.00. You could tell by just looking at them they were going to be great. I threw them on the grill for a minute and they charred up perfect and tasted absolutely delicious! Chewy and hot and full of flavor! The meat man and cashier were friendly.
