"Last restaurant I tried in 2022, and I ended the year on a great culinary note! I don't eat Indian food super frequently, but I do really like it. I ordered on Grubhub and had my husband pick it up for me. He did have to wait a bit past the expected time, but not for a long time. I got spinach dal and 3 piece idly. I had never tried idly before but thought it was really good! I love any kind of lentil dish, and the spinach dal was amazing. Very spicy for me so I had to take breaks while eating it haha but it was so delicious. Really glad I got to try this place and their pricing is definitely affordable for the amount of food they give you! Would love to try something new next time!"
"Pretty solid Indian restaurant! The smell of all the spices hits you as soon as you enter, which is when you know it's real. It's a small and quiet place, but they do play indian music in the background, which I appreciated. There was one waiter for all the tables, and he looked miserable, but he got it done. We got paneer kati rolls for appetizers (not photographed), and for our meals, I got chicken Tikka masala, husband got lamb roganjosh, and we shared garlic naan and nut and raisin naan. I loved our entrees. They were a big portion, came with rice, and were extra buttery and rich. Only downside was the naan. They had no garlic/nut raisin flavor at all. They just tasted like regular naan."

I got the lamb biriani and my husband got the butter chicken. My lamb was so tender and his chicken so creamy. The server told us about some special drinks they had which we will try next time.We WILL be back. I am so happy that we finally have a great spot within walking distance to our house."
"I am so glad I found this place! I had dinner with my sister here on Saturday evening and wow was this place busy!We walked in and were quickly greeted by the worker at the counter. We told him it was our first time in and that we were dining in. The inside is very small but he quickly put together a table for us. They seemed to be having a rush with to go orders as a lot of people were waiting and or picking up.We sat down and cold water was brought out right away. We looked over the menu and decided on:1 CHICKEN TIKKA MASALA - White meat chicken cooked in the clay oven and simmered in creamy tomato sauce.1 CHICKEN TIKKA SALADBoneless white chicken roasted in tandoor and served with fresh salad and raita dressing1 GARLIC NAANLeavened bread of all-purpose flour with a touch of garlic and cilantro1 TANDOORI/BUTTER NAANLeavened bread of all-purpose flour topped off with melted butter.2 White Rices1 SHAHI KULFIIndian homemade ice cream, flavored with almonds & pistachiosThe food was delicious and every dish tasted great. Everything came out hot, flavorful, and was made with love, props to the chef! The naan was also very good and it had a nice warm crisp to it.Service was great as we were checked up on several times. My drink and water were both refilled. The ice cream was delicious but portion wise though, not worth the $4.99 price. We received one small scoop.Overall the food was delicious and service was great! We will be back!"
"We love The Dhaba, so much so that we drive from Surprise. The food is outstanding.I also want to say the family who owns it is also wonderful. They work so hard to run the restaurant, the children work full time and go to college. We have NEVER had anyone be disrespectful in anyway. The restaurant is quiet and clean. They even have a larger dinning area for lager groups. We will continue to drive across the valley to eat here and support a hardworking family."
"Wow. Best paneer tikka masala ever! Cute little place with great service. Samosas are good but kinda spicy. Delicious! I'll definitely be back!"
"I just had the most excellent lunch there. The chicken korma was delicious and full of flavor and was just the right amount of spice. The staff was very welcoming and friendly, and the dining room was very clean. The outside is very non descript but don't let that fool you. The prices are extremely reasonable!"
"Food is excellent! The chicken tikka masala and naan is perfect every single time we order. We always get takeout but definitely will eat in one day. The staff when picking up is always friendly and when calling the order in the staff is always helpful. The location is convenient to home which is great seeing how great indian seems to be hard to come by. Highly recommend this location to anyone looking for genuinely great Indian food."
"Best place for garlic naan and goat curry. The naan is soft and crunchy with good herb flavor. Biryani is just good, though I prefer it to have a stronger flavor."
"My husband and I have been coming to Al Hamra for years. It's our favorite Indian restaurant in Phoenix. The food is consistently great. The naan always comes out piping hot. It's never very busy.....sometimes we are the only people there, but they appear to do more take out business than dine-in. It's a pleasant place to dine-in......nice tablecloths and cloth napkins. There are usually two servers working, and we always get great service. Al Hamra will continue to be our go to for Indian food!"
"I wish I could give this place a 6/5 stars.I went for the buffet today & I tried everything they had on their buffet offerings. The Jeera Aloo (cumin potatoes), chicken tikka, butter chicken, Daal fry, goat curry, goat paaya (trotters), nihari, Halwa, poori, phirni, Naan, everything is on-point and taste so yummy. The basmati rice is cooked so well, as soon as I opened the lid of the cooker, it smelled so fragrant and tasted just like home. Unlike many restaurants that serve different meats in the same curry, this place has a blend of spices that reminds me of food back home in India (similar to Pakistani food). This continues to remain my favorite South East Asian food restaurant in the area. Even after filling up on all the food, I don't feel overstuffed or lazy, it's really something I would recommend to anyone looking for authentic flavors, in a heartbeat."
"Updated review:This place stinks now. Went there today and very dissatisfied. Smell was unbearable. They really need professional cleaning in their restaurant. Food quality is deteriorating too. Might not return soon here. ---------This place is definitely on my top list of frequently visited restaurant. If I have to suggest 3 things to anyone , then below is my list :1- Mutton thali 2- Chicken thali3- Chicken dum biryaniThali comes with so much stuffs that you definitely can't eat alone. Something or other will be left. Would suggest 2 people to share one thali. Most authentic biryani they have is chicken dum biryani. Other biryani options are just okay not so great"

This is one of the oldest Indian restaurants in the valley , I used to frequent this place for the lunch buffet many years ago when there weren't too many options in the area. The food has remained the same but I guess with the growing options it's nothing remarkable anymore. The prices and portion sizes are good but the taste is not exceptional. The kathi roll and keema naan were good but I wasn't a fan of the biriyaniIt tasted more like fried rice with chunks of chicken and did not come with the yogurt raita.Cheers!

This is a very decent and authentic Indian cuisine. The server and food was on par excellent. They had a very small Thai section but I just went for their Indian entrees. It's not really a place to chat as it can get very loud with the band present but they are lovely. The corn 65 was a little mushy inside, I don't know if it's supposed to but it was still good; I was expecting a nice crunch. The Biriyani was very tasty, but their ritha wasn't special or that good. I did enjoy everything though and had a great time.

YUM! Had booked marked this place & was wanting to give it a try when in the mood for Indian Food. That happened to be today and it was so delicious!Ordered the Naan Garlic Bread, the Curry Chicken, Chicken Makhani & White Basmati Rice. EVERYTHING was so satisfying & just the right amount of spice. The standout for us was the Chicken Makhani and paired perfectly with either the rice or dipping that amazing bread along with it. The staff was very friendly. Looks to be a family owed and operated business & LOVE supporting places such as this. This is a must do experience if you like Indian Food. So impressed we will for sure be back and order that superb chicken dish again.

This food is amazing. The service, the atmosphere. It's worth it, if you can try it. The food is really spicy though so do not be cocky and try to get a 10 on the scale, start low if you are not used to Southern Asian spice.

Super sad we've gone here for a while not and sadly the wife of the original owner ended up passing away we loved her food and the recipes were amazing. This new family seems to of shrunk the portions and raised prices for what we got it didn't seem worth it also food is mediocre now. I asked for something spicy and it had no spicy what so ever.Sad we won't be back we wish the previous owner all the best and hope these new owners find a cliental for them it's just not us

Delicious food and good spice (both flavor and heat). Their scale is 1 through 5 and I got a 2 and could sense it nicely. Great quality food. Their chicken dishes had big pieces and very tender. We had the chicken biriyani and Kadai chicken curry and both of us were very impressed. They had a nice amount of vegetarian options as well. Inside there were six tables and they also had a couple outdoors with shade. I couldn't find beverages on their menu but they have sodas and tea, and mango lassi. With two entrees, naan, and dessert, it came to $37. We thought this was an adequate price for the amount of food we received. We live on the opposite side of town but will definitely be returning and recommending to others.

The food here is outstanding! I can't wait to go back and try more dishes. We ordered the naan, chicken tikka masala and the chicken makhi. 10/10!
Visit Restaurant Page"Amazing Indian food!! Recommended by a friend for their authentic and delicious mix pf Northern and Southern Indian cuisine. The owner was super friendly and funny, she was happy to give her personal recommendations.Pretty chill/casual family friendly restaurant. Not fancy but such a gem. We enjoyed their spring dosa, tandoori chicken, garlic naan, butter chicken, and one more item I don't remember the name of...but these fried circular snacks where you put sauce in the center lol. Everything was delicious and flavorful. Tandoori chicken was tender and well spiced. The spring dosa had a nice cabbage filling inside.A little slow to give us water but they were so kind and chill about us bringing in some extra drinks and desserts to eat there. Definitely would return!"
"This is one of the best South Indian buffet in the area. The staff is super nice, kind and welcoming. Food is freshly prepared and everything tasted amazing, very close to the authentic flavors you will find in India. The masala chai and filter coffee are also terrific. The inside is not fancy, but very clean and functional. I would recommend to start with buffet if you are new to trying South Indian food, so you can get a feel for many things. When you get the buffet, please ask your server for the Masala dosa / dosa, since, it is prepared fresh, made to order. I will definitely be coming back and will spread the word!"
"Great lunchI'm so glad I stumbled across Khyber Halal. This place is a local small Afghan restaurant with a good selection of dishes, and the portions are very generous. This was my first sampling of Afghan cuscine and everything was really very good.On this visit we shared the Chicken Kabob, Chicken Biryani, Uzbek Pulao and garlic naan. Everything was fresh, made to order, and so flavorful. The naan was fresh, warm, slightly crispy and made perfectly. The meat dishes had great flavor, the meat was moist/tender, and the plating was beautiful and the serving sizes is more than enough for two people. The staff felt like family. They were so friendly and kept checking on us to make sure we had everything we needed. A must visit place for delicious food"
"I ordered from DoorDash having seen it's a highly recommended spot - so glad I did. I ordered the vegetable samosas and the aloo matar and both were so good! I loved the sauces, the flavors, the heat...will for sure be adding this to my list of Indian spots!"
"Excellent south Indian restaurant. This is my second time here. It's so close I don't know why I've waited so long to come back. We were greeted by the owner when we arrived. We asked for help with the menu, he asked a few questions and then said he would take care of us! I really appreciate having my dishes spicy. It's cooked when ordered so my meal was prepared how I wanted it! We had a complete experience in terms of great food, cleanliness, hospitality and a decent price for the food. We will definitely be back! * Keep in mind they are closed from 3-5:00."
"We were in the Mayo Clinic area craving good Indian food. Found this amazing place! Dalbir was awesome, gave us some great recommendations. We were looking for something light. We tired samosa chaat, chole bhature and vada pav. Everything was absolutely delicious!I loved the Indian music they were playing, reminded me of my high school days.Very clean restrooms, something you don't get to see in Indian restaurants. Great service! Highly recommended."
"11/10. Very very good food. I do takeout and we love the samosas. The spice level is accurate when ordering so I like that it's easy to control."
"Small hole in the wall that's a gem. Like having your grandma in the kitchen cooking. The food was so delicious, full of flavor and amazing. I'm so glad we came here.We ordered so much to try. Nothing disappointed. Service was friendly and they even have self serve complimentary real Chai tea (hhmmmmm) so yummy."
"Wow, I was super impressed with the food at this place! I loved everything that we ordered and wouldn't know which one we wouldn't get next time. Service was awesome! Check in to get a free plain or garlic naan! Everyone was very attentive. The garlic naan was super delicious! Especially with all this dishes we got, everything went well with the naan. There were many things to choose from on the menu. Murg Makhani: this is the same as butter chicken when you order at other places. I think this might be my favorite place for butter chicken!Sag Lamb: got medium for this dish and it wasn't really spicy. It had the perfect texture of lamb and the overall taste was so good! The spinach and gravy mixed together was perfect on top of the naan. Tandoori Chicken: great presentation. The chicken was hot when it came out and very meaty!Chicken Fraizee: this order came with rice and the gravy was good!Beef Korma: the beef was cooked perfectly! I would recommend this place!"
"An extra star for the prices here.We love visiting here whenever we are in that area. In fast we almost go every time we visit that side of the town. The reason being they have some really good fast and is vert reasonable too, Few seating tables and even the store but we usually get the seat to sit and eat. I would highly recommend this place for the taste. Don't expect ambiance though."
"Biryani Bowl is a newly opened Indian Restaurant located in a strip mall off of Bell Road by many car dealers. This isn't a fancy place and is mainly take out but but can dine indoors or on the small patio. The food is mostly North Indian Style and on different days of the week besides the menu they also offer many specials. We ordered three weekend specials and a fish curry off the regular menu. We weren't asked about spice levels. In general all the food was fresh and flavorful. The food did have heat to it but was mild heat. We tried mirapakaya chicken (stir fried chicken appetizer), chule batura (chick peas with fried bread), mughial chicken (in onion curry...this was melt in mouth tender), and fish curry.Everything was at least GOOD. Proteins were on the small side in the main dishes. The curry leaves stay in the dishes. I was going to give 4 stars. The flavors run a little more fragrant with cloves and other exotic spices. The chicken in the onion curry was really great and was melt in your mouth tender. Most people would give give the fish curry 3 or less stars....Flavor-wise it is a little different and has less sour and less heat but it. The fish was cooked very nicely but was only a few flakes of fish in it. A different new unique Indian Restaurant!3 Stars means A-OK on Yelp. Worthy of a try!3.5 stars"
"Quick service. Personnel taking out order were able to describe dishes I was not familiar with. Absolutely delicious Indian food."
"Note: Door Dash review so only speaking to quality of the food and price. I got the Hyderabad goat dish, and had to also have the garlic chile naan, as I don't always come across this. This place is authentic and I was highly impressed. The curry was extremely flavorful, they used fresh curry leaves, cumin seeds, etc and other spices. The goat was bony, but that's to be expected. The chile naan had real, fresh pieces of Thai chiles all over it, so hot but so good! I ordered another bread which I thought was going to be more like popper but ended up just being more of a naan and they gave me tons of it (4 slices) for about $4. Portions for the price were legit. I'd love to eat there in person sometime."
"Kicking off 2024 International Supper Club in January and we headed on over to Marigold Maison to start the year!Arrived on a Thursday evening and the place was busy, but we had reservations and were showed to our table pretty quickly. After checking out the menu I went chicken tikka masala and added an order of garlic naan bread. The chicken tikka masala was the perfect dish on this cool night, it was warm and rich in flavor. The side of rice served with the dish was perfectly cooked and enjoyed the peas in it. The naan bread was delish as well! This was a great meal! Look forward to coming back!"
"I was in the area and I love Indian food, so I decided to give this place a shot.I ordered my usual which is chicken tandoori, some garlic naan and one samosa. The chicken tandoori was probably the best I have ever had. The flavor was amazing!!!The garlic naan was delicious. It tasted like it was cooked on an open fire. The samosa was also good.I just wished they had Coke Zero. The server got me the menu and took my order right away and let me know the status of my order frequently. The place is very simple inside and has some big numbers painted on the wall which I didn't understand it's meaning or purpose.I will definitely comeback when I am on the west side again."
"The food when it's good it's great but they do drop the ball sometimes.Even though I love the food personally, quality and consistency are not always up to the mark. The buffet gets very crowded it is the best way to sample different things on the menu.I have ordered my food to go most of the times and had a positive experience.Only wish they would step it up in terms of consistency and giving the same quality of food.Definitely try things from their Weekend specials menu.Cheers!"
"Now I know people aren't driving alllllll the way out here to Miller Rd in Buckeye to grab Indian cuisine, but if you happen to be in the area, give this spot a try. I first heard about it in local FB groups and was a little concerned about the location, and that it's here in Buckeye, competing against tacos and burgers, but I am so thankful to have this place a mile from home. We will absolutely be going back again and again. They don't have online ordering, and when trying to order by phone, there was no answer. Not an issue though, less than 20 mins to drive there, order, and get back home. The service was great, and my husband even said "the guy was very pleased with the amount of food I ordered" haha! I didn't take pictures of everything, but what we got: Butter chicken, chicken Tikka masala, tandoori chicken, palak paneer, garlic naan, rice pudding, and mango lassi. I make butter chicken and chicken Tikka masala and this was every bit as amazing as what I make. The tandoori chicken was fan-freaking-phenomenal! I could have eaten just that and been completely satisfied. Incredible, get it! I wasn't a fan of the mango lassi, I don't know if it was because it was warm, or maybe just too much turmeric for my taste, but I wanted to like it. Anyways, give this place a shot! Saves a drive into the city and supports a small local business."
"While living in Prescott for a year Taj Mahal became one of my go to places as I love Indian food & they were so good. When I moved to Chandler & realized they had a Scottsdale location 20 minutes away I was all over it.Vegetable samosas - crispy filled pastry filled with potatoes, peas, and spices. 2 pieces. Served with chutney.Vegetable curry - mixed vegetables in a spiced sauce. Ofcourse I made it extra hot.Peas Pulao - basmati rice sautéed with turmeric, onions, peas, almonds, & raisins.Garlic roti - whole wheat Indian bread. The only bad thing I can say is the parking is horrible as this is a busy area with lots of restaurants & not enough parking.I've been to Taj Mahal (both locations) many times & every thing is always great. This is by far my favorite restaurant in AZ."
"Wow!! This spot is a gem!! We happen to be in the area and dropped in for dinner. Casual ambiance, with good prices. There was a wait but we sat at the bar because it was available. Renee was awesome friendly, professional and really knew the food. The food was so good we ordered chicken tikki it came with rice and we plain and it was so delicious I will be making a point to stop in when I am in the area."
"I thought this place was great and now they upped it with a great happy hour and pizza, which I have yet to try. Seriously bold and bright flavors with great service and a great atmosphere. I suspect they will be hopping when the mega apartment next-door opens."
"Used a night in by myself as an opportunity to order a ridiculous amount of Indian food to enjoy! I have been really impressed with the Indian food in north Phoenix and sweet magic is part of that! I ordered delivery through door dash, they accept the order right away and the restaurant had my food ready quick. I typically get some sort of dal dish because I love lentils, but yesterday I got the malai kofta. I also got a masala dosa, which is one of my faves. I got spring rolls too! Spring rolls were crispy on the outside, kinda soft and a little doughy on the inside but good! The malai kofta was creamy and flavorful without being too spicy. The masala dosa was my favorite of everything I got! Would definitely order from here again."
"Every time I've been to Tumeric grocery store this food truck has been parked there but closed. Today I went around night time and to my surprise it was actually open with people actually getting food! SUPER excited to try it out as I crave Indian street food. I decided to get an appetizer the Chaat Paapdi which was about $8. Price was ok given todays inflated economy but there were TWO major issues. The portion of this tiny little thang was way too small. But the bigger problem was that there were NO SAUCES!! I get it, there's variations to this dish but literally no yogurt, no green chutney, no tamarind sauce!? How in the world are we supposed to eat dry hard crackers with chickpeas placed on top?! Luckily for me I had some tamarind sauce at home that I was able to put on top to save the dish. But imagine if I didn't?! Service was good. Nice lady. Quick to make it. Said it would take 15-20 mins but felt more like 7mins. Will I be back? Yes to give it another chance. But definitely not leaving till I get my sauces"
"I've been wanting to eat here since they opened and finally went last night. The food, service and atmosphere all were 10/10! Upon arrival, we were greeted, introduced to our server who really explained their menu in detail. We chose several small plates to share as starters but were surprised at how full we were! My favorite dish was by far the Feringhee's Chaat. The flavors and textures worked so well. All of the dishes were great. The Mango Lassi was refreshing and welcomed. If you get one starter I highly suggest their Chaat, mild spicy with amazing spices and flavor. The deep fried Shiso Leaves pair so well. You can't go wrong with any dish. If you have a milder palate, the Mirgh Malai Kebabs are perfect. The pistachios dusted on top really make this dish stand out. I will say we came on a Tuesday as I can see this place packed on a weekend night! They are enabled for online reservations. Definitely can't wait to come back and try more dishes!"
