The food is as authentic as I've had here in South Phoenix. They bring you chips and salsa to your table, and the salsa hits! We had the guacamole to start. It had the perfect amount of onion and cilantro. Fresh is the first adjective that comes to mind. It possessed the right amount of chunk. For my main dish, I had the chorizo and eggs which also came with refried beans, potatoes and homemade flour tortillas. The beans are an easy tell as to whether or not a place is going to be good...and they nailed it! I'd describe them as slightly mashed and not oily at all. The chorizo had a great taste and wasn't greasy at all. I washed my meal down with their sweet tea. Being from Texas, I can be a tough critic when it comes to Iced Tea, but I liked it so much I had to order one to go. Lastly, the service was fanatical! Our waiter, Edward, was so attentive and thoughtful. He wanted to make sure we absolutely loved all of our choices, offering always to exchange our options if we were completely satisfied. This is our second time here and not only will we be regulars here now, but I will be recommending this place to friends, families, and random passer-byers on a regular.

This place is awesome! The people are super friendly and the food is delicious. We eat here as often as possible. We love the cheese enchiladas, chipotle chicken meal and birria ramen. But honestly, everything I've tried there has been incredible. The margaritas are on point! We love supporting local and this place never disappoints.

Found this spot because I work close by the area. Me and my coworker came here for lunch. We were seated right away the food came out very quickly. My plate was delicious the flavor was on point. My coworker had a bean and cheese burrito she said it was delish. I would go again. Our server was very nice and attentive.

I'm a Western New Yorker (Buffalo/Rochester) who loves Spanish food ,I discovered the place while driving back to my sister in law house,me ,my wife and my 12 year old son wanted some Mexican food that was close to the house, everything I had was good my fish plate had a interesting twist of cilantro and lime sauce to add to it,the service was great my only issue was the chips and queso was small portions,I'm spoiled out here they serve endless portions of it but besides that I give it 4 stars !!

Dos Gordos is a local Latin inspired restaurant nestled in the plaza off of 35th ave and baseline rd. I have only ate here once as a takeout but plan on trying more food options to determine a final rating. I ordered their breakfast burrito, egg ham cheese and potato and I give it an overall 3 star. It really did have the potential to be a great burrito but the two things that really caused my rating was 1. Lack of flavor and 2. Nothing was cut down to chewable sizes. For an adult I don't see this being that much of a big deal but I was sharing my burrito with my child and I had to cut down the potatoes, eggs, and ham pieces to more bite sizes. It was very awkward to eat when every bite felt like half dollar size pieces and wasn't really getting a good mixture. This is not a final rating especially as there are a lot of yummy items on the menu I want to try. I will give an updated review soon. *** As a reminder everyone's taste buds are different so I always say try it for yourself and continue to support Local!!!***

I gave 2 stars because the food is actually good. I got lengua tacos with beans & rice. Everything was fresh and hot. The place is clean. It was moderately busy and I was quickly seated. The waitress was sweet and tried her best to accommodate me. Now, that said, my issue is with the drink I ordered. I got a frozen prickly pear margarita. It was separated with the blended ice sitting on top and the syrup on the bottom. I tasted no tequila. Even after I stirred it up, it was separated. I asked the waitress if I could just get the same margarita but on the rocks instead. She told me they don't comp alcohol drinks after they are made. I told her I didn't want it comped, just remade. Well, instead, she brought me out a new glass with a salt rim, ice, and a shot of tequila. I had to drain the other drink into the new glass myself and mix it up with the ice and the shot. So ultimately, they could have just made me a new drink. The waitress was apologetic but it was not her fault. Just because of this one experience, I won't be back even with the food being decent.

This place is close by where I get my hair done so a couple times a month I go in for my two grilled shrimp tacos and a margarita. Also with a side of refried beans. Great food ... great service.

Outrageously overpriced for unseasoned garbage food. $10 for a tiny Michalada? $8 for a tiny ramekin of Guacamole?? You have to be joking. Service was terrible, and my fish tacos looked like chicken sticks and tasted like old fish. Definitely look elsewhere for Mexican food, this is my second time coming here and it will be my last.

Finally made it in! I love the welcoming feeling and the vibe. Seated right away. Got here at a good time for a Sunday. By 11a, it starts to fill up.My thing is always chillaquillas, yes it was on the menu & I was happy. Sadly, I will need to try something else when I come back. They were lukewarm, and cheese was melted whatsoever. I was told by the waiter that the green was spicy, so I chose the red. Below, let me know if there was any red on the plate.By the way, the green is not spicy at all.
