"Synopsis: Reminds me of delis back home in New York; great feel, kind folks, amazing sandwiches. Girlfriend and I are vacationing in the Phoenix area and wanted sandwiches while we visited the Botanical Garden and Zoo. We found this place while looking through recommendations. It's your traditional convenience store with a deli attached to it. The guys working the market were incredibly nice. We placed our orders quickly, pastrami sandwich and a club. Didn't do any sides but we did grab some unique chips and fountain drinks. Our sandwiches were done in about 5 minutes and were well worth the wait. We were thrilled with our stop at the 56th Street Deli. Between the food, the service, and the selection it was a great choice for our sandwich fix. 5 Deli Fresh Stars out of 5!"
"I work nearby and have relied on Phx Eats for breakfast and lunch many times - always good (love the One Egg Wonder sandwich), but today, today was awesome. Their special was grilled cheese and tomato soup. It was like homemade, exactly what you expect. Creamy tomato soup, excellent spices and a crispy, cheesy grilled cheese sandwich. (If only it weren't 90 degrees out...lol, Phoenix in November!). I hope they have this special often this winter, SO good."

Usually swing in on my way home from work and get "what I always get" (I'm a creature of habit- haha).Clean Restaurant, always friendly, hard working Staff. They get overwhelmed with orders at time, but thats a sign of good food if you ask me. I cut them some slack for it.Keep up the great work, Guys!!"
"Good quality was good, but customer service was not. Not impressed with the employees who had air pods in and barley spoke with us while trying to make our sandwiches. Restaurant looked clean. Probably won't be back."
"This little sandwich place is a 3 minute walk away for me and always a good eat. The shop sits in the lobby of an office building on Central Ave, so if you are in the area and need a quick lunch, stop by!They create classic sandwiches that come with chips and a pickle spear. This is always a good lunch choice with my work group. They also sell salads, energy drinks, tea, breakfast burritos, soup, etc."
"New York sort of air! How should you pass the time? If you were a New Yorker you would be in a cafe some where with your feet drying out from the heaters that are under the table clenching that cup of coffee waiting for it's aromas to sink way down. Arizona is far from New York, here is the next best thing. Bagels, meats, cheeses, bacon, and a beverage. You know this is gonna be good! This little bakery is located right next to a cupcake shop. Yes, and I'm just wandering in now. Better to arrive eventually than not at all. The smells from this shop will give you fever all the way to your core. The best of New York cafe living right here in Sun City Az. No rain and no frost it's all sun and shine in the valley of the sun. The golf is on after a sensational breakfast. They are open early for all those risers that need the goods to start the day off. Bagels and bagels galore. How do you want that pastrami and Swiss or your egg, cheese, and bacon sandwich; they all have one thing in common: they all are served on a bagel. Many times we have visited here. You get some real good food. The food memories bring back times when I visited New York. Their version of a "big breakfast," will quench even a growing teenagers tastes and leave them full. The bacon, what's not to love. The eggs n bacon meal has home cooked potatoes that were always perfect paired with your choice of bagel. What's not to love? It's supporting local that matters. Here in the Sun City area so many big chains are around. This bakery is a proud badge to the community in a sea of corporate world all around, but still the little place is around. Spread the word and always support local. It's Sunday and the early is how we do it! As we live these days, sleep is a fluke and we seem to need less and less of it. Maybe it's stress or all that coffee. Now that's it's morning, it's time for some coffee. It's a beautiful morning. As I sit here and sip the coffee the sun cracks and plays peek a boo from beyond the clouds. As the rays of sunshine dance and spread their radiance the coffee is taking effect. The chef from behind the counter is calling out my breakfast number. It's a help yourself sort of way here for basic coffee. Sometimes all you need is the simple, with that better way of eating in the morning. Especially Sunday morning. The aroma from my food hits my nasal passage way and inside I'm screaming grab that fork. The bacon just beacons for me to eat. Let's go I cannot wait anymore. If yours a type of individual that seeks great deliciousness in home down cooked food, look no further. That New Yorker welcome is here just for you. Bagels galore. How do you pastrami or egg it? On a bagel of course. Perhaps sourdough. The best of heaven wrapped up all the way from the shores of the east coast to the west coast ! Now let's get our breakfast on! It's our connection to food that brings so much happiness to all so enjoy simplicity with a bagel of your choice."
"Really good sandwiches. A bit pricey. They do have deals going on. Thru emails and insta."
"The deli we had been using recently closed, with Stanley's being close to the quality we had been getting. It can be busy, so expect a 15 minute wait at those times."
"After a recent breakfast with girlfriends at this NYBNB location, I figure it's time for a quick update from my last review which was written over a decade ago! This place has weathered the years and the pandemic but stayed consistent with delivering fabulous bagels and bialys as well as solid deli options.Service is attentive, prices are reasonable, and quality is high. On my recent visit, I had a delicious omelette made to order, a bialy and cream cheese, and some sliced tomatoes. Hot sauce was brought upon request. If you're seeking a laid back dining experience with something on the menu for everyone, or are thinking of ordering food to go, this is a solid option!"
"Not a bad little lunch spot. I used a groupon that I scored for free for $20 of food. Yes its in a gas station, and the gas station is small. This should tell you that you are probably going to take it go unless you want to sit out side at the picnic table and watch people pump gas while you eat, I think me not. Ordering is pretty simple, and the food is cheap and pretty tasty. King Gryos is still my fave in the area and is the one to beat. Basically its like they are subletting a space in the gas station. Its a greek greasy spoon. If you need some quick greek or grill take out like gyros give it a try. If you feel the need to park your can to get the restaurant feel during lunch, this may provide you some nice redneck entertainment if thats what you are into."
"If only cupcakes could change the world. Or could they!Having one of those days, where the world seems to bring take your happy away. My faithful Yelp app had just the answer to bring my happiness back; cupcakes. Upon entering the shop, masks are required. The minute that we entered the baker/employee was in the back of the house attending to cupcake business. She came through the door and greeted us in a most wonderful way. Let's just say that she made my day and my happy return. The hours posted on the door show that this bakery closes up at four pm. We wandered in around 3:30 pm. At the time the bakers display case was empty. Inquiring if she had anything ready we proceeded to move to where she kept already naked naked cupcakes. Having a choice of vanilla or chocolate; I went with two of each. Now here's where the magic happens. I needed a little piece of magic to make the afternoon splendid and magical. How do you make magic from cupcakes? Why turn those cupcakes into unicorns? The baker did not even question my request. We only ordered four, but the baker went to work to make those unicorn cupcakes epic. I let her choose the unicorn design and coloring; and could not of been happier. This cupcake shop does remarkable work from scratch. I was overjoyed by the work that she did in under ten minutes. The employees here observe the COVID rules. As she made the cupcakes gloves were worn. She even changed her gloves in between grabbing the cupcakes and taking them to be frosted in the back. I could not of been happier with these beautiful cupcakes. How does that cupcake taste? The icing was delicious and not too sweet. The cupcake part was soft and when eating the cake portion did not crumble in my hands. The balance of frosting to cake was reasonably. Let's celebrate life for a moment together. Take a few deep breaths, now exhale. Take that first lick from the unicorns ear. Then now let's bite into the cake and frosting together. Can you feel the magic taking ahold of you. Time for another cupcake, I'm needing some more magical decadence. Now that my happy button has been updated, it's time to wander and discover new memories. Needing that special set of cupcakes to celebrate or maybe a cake, give the staff here your business. Make sure for special items that you give plenty of notice. The pricing it fair here. The four cupcakes with their designs run me $13. Give creative will to the bakers or suggest your own theme for a cake or a few dozen cupcakes. Happiness begins however you can dream it. Dream big and your support goes towards a small business too. Now that we have our inspiration it's time to spread that happiness and joy to others. Thank you again too this small business for making sure that I was happy above and beyond. Now that my sparkle and shine are brilliant let's go! Magic is real! All one has to do is believe! Leave sparkles wherever you roam!"
"I wouldn't have stopped in if it weren't for the $7.50 July special- half of a sandwich and a side. The turkacado I ordered (turkey breast, bacon, Cheddar, avocado, lettuce, tomato, red onion and chipotle mayo) is $16.50 for the entire sandwich! Other sandwiches fall in the $13.50- 22 range. The turkacado was fine- neither the deli turkey nor onion roll tasted better or fresher than the average sandwich shop. It was also rather skimpy on the turkey. The pasta salad was absolutely flavorless. I can't justify returning, considering there are other delis that are both less expensive and tastier."

Been coming here for nearly 30 years. Used to be called In and Out before the burger chain moved to the valley. The sandwiches always hit the spot. The staff is friendly and helpful!

We are stranded another 2 day's due to yesterday's snowstorm in Chicago. Just placed an online order for lunch. Had a hard time deciding what to order. I ended up ordering the Thai Chicken Salad and my husband wanted the California Bowl. We both enjoyed in our nearby hotel room. Wow! My salad was so good and my husband enjoyed his selection as well! Thanks to YELP coming to the rescue again! Plus, the delivery driver was pleasant & friendly!! Thanks for the great food & service!

Ordered a sub to go through the app and had no issues. We even had to call to change the time on the pick up and the worker was very friendly and helpful. The sub was ready at the correct time and was in and out very quickly. Always love a good Jersey Mike's sub and this location didn't disappoint!

I decided to give this location another shot! I have been scared because of the reviews lol, and my 1st experience at this location was terrible. I came in today and a young man came out to greet me! and the sandwich was made perfect! The young lady that made my sandwich was nice and friendly. I'm hoping this place turns around, only negative is there were 2 employees just chillen in the back on their phones. but that's younger workers these days! only reason for my 4 star review.

Bagelry I am a native new Yorker, now living in Arizona. I grew up starting my day with a roll and butter or bagel. I know what you're thinking, the same thought I had, simply Finding a great bagel shop in Arizona can be a challenge. . Finding an ordinary bagel is easy regardless of where you live. Finding a great bagel that's boiled, baked, and given a generous smear of butter or cream cheese is tough in these parts, that is until I found Hot Bagel and Deli. The bagels at Hot Bagels and Deli are delicious. My favorite are the everything, onion, garlic or salt. These bagels are everything a bagel should be. The bagels are crispy, chewy, garlicy oniony, salty perfection. The breakfast sandwiches are incredible but I'm looking forward to trying the lunch sandwich, especially after I found out that hot bagels and deli uses Boars Head cold cuts. If you're ever in the area and want to taste delicious bagels and experience a great customer service stop in you won't be disappointed

I was in the neighborhood so stopped by to grab lunch. I ordered the roast beef and cheddar, whole sub which came out to be close to $17. The meat was good but the bread didn't taste fresh like they normally do. The Mayo wasn't enough on there so made sandwich tasted dry. Kinda disappointed as last time stopped by Turkey and provolone was great. Anyway, 3 stars for the roast beef.

Have not been here for a while. Ordered sandwiches by phone and their smoked meat counter was full. Have been to Stanley's for many years, well before they opened their current location on East Bell Road.By the time I left the store, had three large bags. Smoked ribs, four different varieties of sausage, a block of feta cheese, pork shoulder, and apple strudel. Set for the rest of the month. Great shopping at a small family owned business. Put this one on your list.

They have an amazing selection of à la cart items from capers, to extra tomatoes, onions, you name it we got the bagel and lox, added cucumber, and it was spectacular, they even have a separate pup menu for your dog and I have to say I think that is just so cool our dog Birdie was in heaven check out this local new spot.."
"Looking up online told me this deli has a few locations. The one here is at Metro Center, with limited parking in the lot, the adjacent mall parking is relatively close, if you don't mind navigating the population of homeless camped out back. JD is huge cafeteria style deli. Order at the front left and get your tray to grab a salad and remember to leave your number visible to receive your sandwiches. The one-trip salad bar is big enough. We all had a combo of sandwich and salad bar. The bar was sufficiently stocked with veggie items and cold salads, toppings etc. they have an ice cream station too that is complimentary. Grab a seat and wait for your sandwich to arrive. Staff visit to see if you have what you need. Very nice and quick. The bathroom code is at the top of the receipt if you need it. Plenty of space for when it gets crowded."
"Awesome sandwiches with lots of meat! The Scottwich was delicious and loaded with pastrami."
"Wow, you really need an appetite or a doggie bag! Portions are huge! I had the protein pancakes and they were delicious! I'm looking forward to my leftovers tomorrow morning!Service was great. If you come here on the weekend like we did, expect to wait until a table opens up. There are a lot of tables inside and an outside patio area too."
"Great sandwiches! Fair Prices! Happy & Helpful employees! Bread is always nice and soft and the ingredients nice and fresh. They have delicious tasting cookies. This is definitely a go to place for a sandwich."
"I've been coming here for a while now and going back and forth on menu items. I have a few favorite items here but it seems I can't stop ordering the Italian sub. I'm not much for salad dressing on sandwiches but this Italian sub is the exception. The flavors that explode out of this sandwich are amazing. Every single time. Other favorites include the Philly cheesesteak, the deluxe, and the gyro. They also have a decent burger and the fries, onion rings, etc are always tasty. Basically. You can't go wrong with anything on their menu. As far as the market? Well. Hands down they have the best beer selection in fountain hills. They update the selections regularly but there are plenty of brews that are always stocked. Owners are locals who are invested in fountain hills and know how to treat customers well. Fountain hills express. Best deli/ market in town!"
"Fast service, food cooked as ordered. Staff was fine, no bad attitudes. Place was busy seems like a lot of locals really love the place. Breakfast bagel sandwich was delicious!"
"I love that JJs is still going as strong as ever. Updating my review after 10 years and they still get the highest marks from me! Sometimes the only bright spot about my hour morning commute to North Scottsdale is my call-ahead to JJs to order my breakfast Bagelwich. I'm a creature of habit: Everything bagel with egg and cheddar cheese. It's plenty big enough without anything else, though sometimes I'll tack on some bacon. Pair it with a cup of hot coffee, and you have yourself a mobile breakfast of champions. Always wrapped up in foil to keep it piping up. The quality is so consistent. The guys behind the counter are friendly and remind me of a New York deli. The ambiance is a diner vibe, with natural light and a bustling atmosphere. The patio is lively with plenty of folks hanging out, sometimes with their dogs, and always with lots of conversation and laughter on faces. What's also incredible is the prices actually haven't seemed to change that much through time. Though, I am speaking only from experience with my Bagelwich, which hasn't left my order in 10 years."
"Tasty! I've heard a lot of hype for this restaurant. Ordered on DoorDash (or was it GrubHub, hmm) for lunch. I ordered an Italian Soda, Meatball Sandwich and Tiramisu. Food came pretty quickly and was still warm-ish. Everything was good. The Tiramisu especially. I would order from DeFalco's again."
"My husband has a busy schedule at work. No time to leave for lunch. I thought I'd pick him up an Original Italian. The location was very clean even being at the end of the day. Super nice guy took my order and allowed me to order the bread on the side separately from the toppings that way my husband could put it together when he wanted to eat it and it wouldn't get soggy. My order was made fast and I was on my way."
"Usually come here for deli meats. They have really good sausage. I usually get the salami. They can give you samples to try before you buy. They also sell mici(skinless sausage) but they are made with beef only and are really skinny. Also there's 50 pieces in a box. They are okay not the best. Also they sell other products like cheese, bread, vegata, candy and etc. For bread you need to go early because they sell out quick."
"Stopped here for lunch and it seemed like everyone else in the area was also having lunch here as it was pretty busy. The inside is small and there a few tables along side the wall. The worker quickly greeted us as we approached the counter after waiting a few minutes in line. We ordered three different cold subs - all regular sizes, chips, and drinks. The cashier was very friendly and patient. He was the only cashier ringing the orders up and he did a great job taking care of the long line. The subs were fantastic and flavorful. The regular size ended up being too big for me, so for next time I will stick with the mini size. The toppings tasted fresh and the bread was yummy. Service was great! Will be back"
"All I can say is HIDDEN GEM! Location is in a plaza, kinda tucked away, so it doesn't really stand out (in my opinion, but others may disagree). Delicious food and great service! We catered from them for my baby's first birthday recently, and the price was amazing for the amount of food we received. The charcuterie board is huge, and even with 15 guests, we had a lot of delicious food left over. Definitely stop sleeping on McAlister's Deli!"
"We decided to give this place a try after seeing them on the Good Morning Az show a few weeks ago. I had the Italian combo wedge and my wife had the small meatball both toasted. Great sandwiches and definitely recommend. Also tried the infamous black and white cookie actually made in New York. Was not as impressed, the white frosting was pretty hard and was nothing special. The team was friendly and helpful, even checked on us while we dined out front on the patio."
"Came here at around 8:45 on a Friday (last day of my fall break!) and they were nearly sold out! Like less than 10 bagels left I think! Service was great and super fast. It's just a small place so good to get to go! I got a salt bagel toasted with veggie cream cheese. I will say it is not the prettiest bagel I've seen in my life, but wow it was very very delicious! Good amount of salt, cream cheese had the perfect amount of veggie. Nice and fluffy, would definitely come back!"
"So happy to have Firehouse Subs in the area! Delicious sandwiches and friendly service."
"I woke up late and in need of some breakfast grub, so I found this place on Yelp. I heard that they have huge burritos here, so I ordered one without meat. I also got a cup of coffee. The service was great, and the ambiance was chill. However, I didn't care for the coffee. It was self-served and contained in one of those carafes that keeps the beverages hot for 6 hours. I was blown away by the size of the burrito though! It was freaking huge! I couldn't finish it, so I took half of it to go. Now, if you're a coffee snob, this place is surrounded by Dunkin', Starbucks, and other cafes. But if breakfast sandwiches are what you're looking for. This is a pretty solid place."
"This place was SOOO GOOD! Where else can you pickup Lefse and an amazing sandwich?! This is a small family owned spot with delicious homemade salads, sandwiches and desserts. The ladies running it were so friendly and helpful. There is so many options to choose from. We went with 2 turkey sandwiches, potato salad, pasta salad and a lefse to go. Everything on the sandwich was fresh and top quality. The potato salad and pasta salad were super flavorful as well. We will definitely be stopping in again soon to get our sandwich fix. Thank you!!"
"Speedy and efficient local deli in Deer Valley! Served on your choice of rye, whole wheat, white, Kaiser roll, wrap, croissant, or wedge (hoagie). I ordered one of my sandwich go-to's, the Italian Combo, on wedge, $12.99. It came with the cutest (but smallest, 0.5oz) bag of Lay's regular potato chips. My order was ready within 5 minutes of ordering! I also ordered the last cannoli which was around ~$4. The cannoli was pretty solid. The wedge roll was not smooth; it was textured with little crumbs. Not my personal favorite, but up to personal preference. There was little to no condiments but there are packets of mayonnaise and mustard you can add. The lettuce, onion, and tomato were all in the middle of the sandwich, with the meat on the outside. There was a good amount of meat in the sandwich but I found it difficult to get a bite of the lettuce/meat at the same time, and had to push the meat back in. Maybe minor things but things to be aware of!Overall, a good deli with some tweaks to work out. 3.5 stars!"
"Love this place. I've gotten it was uber Estes, grub hub, picked it up myself. Mac n cheese is bomb and tastes home made. Never have gone wrong with a wrap and thief curly fries yum and the portions are worth the price."
"There was a Santa there this morning lmaoGood bagels. Price very reasonable for breakfast sandwich"
"Amazing food doesn't taste super unhealthy good ingredients unlike a subway.the sandwiches are made very fast and efficient.great vibe in there and a great staff"
"Of course Jersey Mike's has some of the most freshly made, delicious, stacked subs out there. But I don't know if they all have the same customer service as this one has. Every time I walk in they are so dang nice. They always have a smile on their face, and are eager to talk to you and server you. When I order ahead they are always right there ready to hand over your food. I love this location! Thank you for always filling my families bellies. Especially on those super busy days when we need something fresh and fast to grab and go!"
