Tee A. "7 Years they are open and the kitchen and rest rooms are immaculately clean. Excellent menu to choose from. The best take out menu in all the Chinese restaurants in Arizona. The wife can surly cook . Everything is just perfect flavoring. Worth the trip from a where in Arizona. Old school Chinese cooking doesn't get any better than this place. One you try it once you will never need to look for excellent food at any other Chinese takeout. Staff is super helpful and friendly. Just ask question's. It just doesn't get any better than this restaurant. Unheard of a super clean kitchen 7 yrs old! WOW. If you leave any comment other than the best then you have lost your mind. We came from buckeye to surprise and we don't ever have to look anywhere else. All the dishes no one else cooks they cook here. The husband is a very friendly person as is the younger woman at the counter. My only regret is not finding this diamond in the rough 7 years ago. Wish they had it in buckeye but the drive is not bad and the food is just fantastic and flavor is off the chart. I love the fact I no longer need to look for a great Chinese take out and I do mean great. Old school cooking is heavenly. As good as it gets"

My go to has been the delicious teriyaki chicken bowl though I've also tried the sesame chicken which is good as well. My partner always orders the honey crispy chicken which he raves about. The servings are a great size, and the staff are very friendly every time we drop in. We highly recommend China Basil!"

Sue F. "My experience was through Uber Eats which is probably different than how you are about to experience but I wanted to tell you about the food. I worked at a Chinese restaurant in college. My favorite dish has always been mu-shu pork. Whenever I see it on the menu, I always order it. My order also included beef and green beans, a bowl of hot and sour soup and an egg roll (that came free with my order). The mu-shu was good but not great. The dish needed more flavor. It came with a small cup of hoisin sauce which really helped. The accompanying pancakes were a bit hard, also a little disappointing. To me, hot and sour soup is either terrific or a miss. Unfortunately, our soup was a miss. We didn't eat most of the large serving. The egg roll was good - just like my daughter's Chinese MIL makes from scratch. It was quite large too. The saving grace of the meal was the beef and green beans. Oh my gosh this dish was awesome! I've never had anything like it. Tender beef slices, stir fried green beans all in a garlicky brown sauce. I liked it so much that I didn't want to share. My family was happy that I did though, they all loved it too. One thing that really surprised me was how well wrapped everything was. Each was in a typical Chinese takeout container but then each was tightly wrapped in plastic wrap. There wasn't even a chance of anything leaking. I don't think I've ever had a delivery wrapped so well. I probably won't be back to Scottsdale anytime soon but I know that I am now going to be on a mission to find something similar to the beef and green beans. Heck, it was so good that another trip to Scottsdale might not be a bad idea!"

I was initially against it,...I wanted a burrito, but I gave in. This is a sit and order at your table place. We were greeted quickly with a smile. Everyone was super friendly and helpful. Lots of seating inside and everything looked clean and inviting. The plates are definitely shareable, but we figured that out after ordering. I got the Biang Biang Noodles with Pork and it was really good! Nice and spicy with thick slices of jalapeño. My friends ordered other entrees that I tasted and liked them. They also ordered the Fish Pot...heads up, that is a HUGE! But wow, it was good. On a scale of 1 - 10, I'll come back....I need to try more here."

Everyone who helped me was so incredibly kind and helpful.I think this might be the best Chinese food I've ever had. The orange chicken is a must for me as well as the beef lo mein. The food court itself has been seeing some upgrades lately, so there's plenty of seating and it's been kept very clean every time I've visited. I had the pork fried rice and I loved it! It was packed full of the sweet and savory pork. No shortage on the ratio of protein to rice and veggies. The rice itself was cooked just right, and the veggies were cooked well and tasty. Anna G. "There is nowhere safe from inflation and it was very noticeable here. What used to be a very affordable place to get family meals on a fairly regular basis has turned to be once in a great blue moon. One of my favorite dishes to order, the Mongolian beef, was way saltier than I remembered. I felt like I could drink all of the Colorado River dry and still not be quenched of my thirst. There has not been anything that I've eaten in my life that has made me so thirsty. With this and the overall total cost of our order made me disappointed.Their delivery service has scaled way back than when I first reviewed years ago. They used to be available all day, then some years later scaled back to afternoons (1pm onwards), then more years later now to evenings (4pm onwards). I suppose I should be grateful that they haven't eliminated delivery altogether, and I am.I am open to ordering again when I have another craving for Chinese food come up. Elyse F. "I rate Chinese buffets different that other Asian food establishments. It is usually a case of quantity over quality. I always take that with a grain of salt. For a buffet, Red Dragon does a decent job of balancing the two. Many of the employees were eating the buffet food during their breaks. That is always a good sign that things are on the up and up. Foods that we tried were warm to hot. The only exception was the sushi. That was nice and cold. Multiple buffets ment lots of food to choose from. Food was brought out fairly frequently. Our favorite chicken dish was the teppanyaki chicken. Veggie spring rolls were crisp on the outside. Fresh fruit was ripe and juicy. Ice cream, cakes and pastries are available for dessert. This restaurant is taking cleanliness further than I have seen any restaurant during COVID times. Masks are required. Employees are wearing masks. Disposable gloves are required at the buffet. Glove are provided where the dishes are. Tables were cleaned between visitors."

Bernadette M. "Fun place if you want to play some games and eat/drink with friends....Parking - there are open paid lots and meters around the area. I ended up parking at a meter that wasn't too expensive, it's free after 10. A few friends and I went here on a Saturday night for my friend's bday. Pinball machines and pool tables ($10 per hour) are first come first serve. We did the duck pink bowling, I recommend making ressies online for that. It is just smaller pins with a smaller ball and shorter lanes, still fun! It is more expensive at $20 per hour for an online ressie vs $15 for walk in, but it gets busy on the weekend so it's nice to not have to wait. There are 3 lanes for ressies and 3 lanes for walk ins. You can eat and drink at the lanes if you don't want to pay the extra $12 to reserve a table online for their "Hollywood" booth that is off to the side. I just don't like how you have to reserve it online instead of over the phone. For free. Lols We just ate at the lanes which I think is better. One of our friends was late so our server was so nice to offer we wait with our food at the Hollywood booth until our friend came. Free of charge. Otherwise it would have cut into our hour reservation with the bowling! My friends said the bulgigi beef nachos and Beijing pork roll were pretty good. I didn't eat it since I hate cilantro and it's full of it. I had the yummy sweet potato waffle fries, popcorn chicken with honey butter five spice and curry fries, delicious! I recommend, great snacks for bowling. My friends ordered some foo foo drinks but I don't remember the names. They said they were ok but the shriveled, droopy, spotted brown basil used for a garnish was funny. I recommend Cham Pang skipping that bc it just makes the presentation look sad. I had been here before some years back and thought I remembered I was not impressed... (I remembered correctly). I was really not impressed. The food was extremely bland and they forgot my chili oil, which is a no-go for me. I've got to have my chili oil. We had the pot stickers which were cold and lacking flavor, the egg drop soup which was seriously lacking in salt, the house fried rice was not the worst. I have a theory that the food is purposely bland and lacking salt due to their 55+ customer base here in Sun City. Vegetarians could have plenty to satisfy them and I saw kids at one of the tables happily enjoying pizza. Something for everyone here and the reasonable lunch prices make it affordable too. Attentive server kept my water filled and took my emptied dishes away. I liked it because it wasn't so spicy that it was burning my face off but still flavorful (+1 star). The rice was pretty basic. I would have liked it more if it had peas/carrots added (-1/2). The vegetables tasted fresh (not frozen, +1). One dinner special = 2.5 meals as well (+2 stars)The creamy crab rangoons are just that - Suuuper creamy. They must be 400 calories a pop with the amount of cream cheese in those things. If you're a huge cream cheese fan these would be chefs kiss but for me they were a little much (-1/2 star). The service was very kind. It is a nice Chinese run business with *tons* of menu options, which is quite impressive for the tiny building they're running out of. Yes, the "ambiance" of a drive up Chinese food restaurant isn't exactly the Shangri-La, but you can tell this couple is working hard and going waaay out of their way to make their dream a reality (open until 2 AM for goodness sakes).
