After a long haitus of 5 years, I finally had the chance to return to Ban Mi Bistro. I was amazed and pleased to see that this wonderful eatery has retained its stellar accomplishments of great food, efficient staff, and reasonable prices. As you can see from my previous reviews, this used to be my daily lunch spot. Changes in work had me relocated during my lunch time, and I had lost touch with this great food. Today, I had a chance to return, and return I did. I bought the rice plate with chicken, which, by all accounts, is enough food for 2 people. And wow, the flavor still kicks ass. Sizzling hot food, with the perfectly sublime gentle spice undertones that seem to comfort your mouth at every bite. The chicken rice plate has a collage of chopped veggies accompanying the chicken and rice, and all of it is amazing. The staff continues to be kind and swift, while being helpful at every turn. And they get the dishes prepared in rocket speed!I was never unhappy when this was my mainstay linch stop, and I am glad to see it continues to be the best asian eatery in the area. Well done to John and the staff!!

I ordered the #1 Classic. The banh mi was loaded with meat and pickled carrots & daikon. The pork skin was too chewy and hard to bite...perhaps, if the pork was sliced more thinly? But at $8 for a foot long..it's a great deal.

Hidden in a quiet plaza, this place is an absolute gem. Clean interior with lots of inside seating. The menu is simple yet has a lot of options to offer. The prices are extremely reasonable--- a meal here is less than a meal at McDonalds. I ordered spring rolls and the BMB special. The spring rolls are yummy but the banh mi is so flavorful!! And long! Healthy, convenient, local, and affordable. Service here is quick and very kind!

So close to a great vegetarian banh mi. The sandwich is large, 30-50% longer than other banh mi sandwiches, with good bread, and vegetables crisp and perfectly prepared with pickling to just the right flavor. However, the tofu is large slabs of marinated soft tofu, which means that one gets mouthfuls of mushy, flavorless tofu. There was one or two bites in the whole big sandwich that had enough flavor, the rest was lacking due to the tofu preparation. I'd recommend cooking firmer tofu and possibly also adding a sauce in order to make the vegetarian banh mi as good as it should be.

We were some of the only people in on a Wednesday afternoon, so needless to say there was quick service. Food was good, I have never had banh mi before. Bread was toasty on the outside, soft on the inside. Everything had great flavor, I just wished there was more meat. I all tables were clean, trashes were empty, and soda machines worked perfect. I would come back!

The Bun was tasty, but the chicken was over done, tough and dry. The shrimp was good. Nice and clean place.

I've been SO into Banh Mi, and this one was exceptionally delicious. Stopped by for lunch and got take out. Ordered at the counter and it was ready fast. It's clean in here too and was somewhat busy but there were still tables available! I got the tofu bahn mi which was $8, seems like a great deal for such a large sandwich. Actually mine was $10 because I splurged to add some avocado (glad I did!). I thought it was so big I'd only need half but it was delicious I downed the whole thing at once. Veggies on top were so fresh and there was so much on there. Would absolutely order from here again!

A great bang-for-your-buck restaurant. I got the BMB special (grilled pork, eggs, pate) for $10 and a chicken curry special with baguette for $9. First of all, the banh mi is so big! They did not skimp on the fillings, especially the meat. The BBQ pork was on the sweeter side and decently fatty. The chicken curry was rich with deep lemongrass flavor. Lots of chicken inside with some carrot and potato. Super flavorful and comforting. And at $9 it's a steal! I chose to order baguette instead of rice, and they gave a whole baguette. I also ordered a green milk tea for $4.50. It was like a light milky matcha. Pretty good but a bit sweet for my taste. You order at the register. Seems like a very popular lunch place and for good reason. I will definitely come back!

I love the Papaya and Noodle plate. You can choose the meats of your choice. I usually like the chicken or beef. Nice spot to eat at in Phoenix. We enjoyed coming here on a night out to escape the heat. I also like the Spring Rolls here with shrimp or pork. NIce people, and staff working here. Prices are not high either. So, I will be coming here often.
