"I needed a fix for my sweet tooth and noticed this bakery in the small strip of businesses just east of 18th Ave on Indian School. The location is spacious and very clean. The bakery cases featured some beautiful deserts in orderly cases. I picked up 2 slices of cake and some peanut butter cookies. The frosting on the cake slices was the whipped cream style but lighter and not as sweet as I have had from other places. This was a definite plus. The layer between the white cake layers was a luscious milk chocolate buttercream icing. The other slice featured chocolate cake with a layer of fresh strawberries and the same whipped cream used to frost the cake lightly strawberry flavored.The family running the shop were very friendly and provided excellent customer service. They are very proud of the hard work and love they put into their baked goods and small business. I look forward to stopping by and recommending this bakery which is way too close to home, which is why it earned a 5th star for convenience from me. We ate the cake before I could get a photo. But I included one of the peanut butter cookies."

"Each year, I am looking for a place that has the creativity to make beautiful custom decorated cakes but also one that tastes delicious. Why does it have to be so hard???This place is recommended for wedding cakes, but they were great helping me with my daughter's birthday cake. I worked with them via email just to see if they could make a simple design and to get a quote on pricing. Very gracious experience and saved me the trouble of driving to the physical store. The prices are a bit expensive which I expected since they do weddings, but the reviews made me keep an open mind. They also allowed me to come by to sample a few of the flavors which was awesome so my daughter was sure of what she wanted before we committed to the order.I was told to place the order a couple weeks ahead since they do book up, but that was pretty standard for this kind of work. They asked for a 50% deposit which was also fine with me. The end result was perfect! I opted to add the cake topper decorations myself so they gave me a simple design which was executed perfectly. They were very flexible to work with. The cake was a devil's food cake chocolate and was so moist! The filling was a raspberry compote and equally delish. My kid was happy and the guests enjoyed their cake and Mom was left satisfied with a new place to order my future cakes from in the future."

"If you live in the valley and love all things local you already know about Boyer and all they offer. You can just feel the love and all that goes into making it special. I've been counting down the days until their drive thru location opened and this week is finally their soft opening. This location is a smaller version of the bakery off Waddell and Litchfield. There is no seating inside besides a couple spots to wait for your order. The drive thru is a decent sized lane, but with how popular Boyer is it will get pretty busy I'm sure of that. There was one car ahead of me today and the line went quickly. Service was amazing and exactly what is typical for them. The employee was patience and answered all the questions I had. I loved they offered some food items and thank goodness because I hadn't eaten breakfast yet. I opted for their ham and cheese croissant as well as their Cotton Lane Cold Brew. My son opted for a white chocolate mocha blended and a soft pretzel. My cold brew was phenomenal. Both drinks were so good and I think I found a new favorite version of my already loved cold brew. I also love their caromollow latte. My breakfast croissant was heavenly. It was flakey, warm, plenty of ham and cheese ooey and gooey. My son loved his pretzel. Prices are fair and worth every penny. This will definitely be in rotation often."

"If you want some of the best pastries in the Phoenix area, look no further. Chef Chacon has an impressive culinary pedigree from spending time in kitchens such as Chez Panisse and Noma. I've had his delectable delights at Futuro but wanted to try more so I went to the Uptown Farmer's Market to get some weekend goodies. There was quite a line that had already formed by the time I got here, and for good reason! Part of the reason though is because Chef does the packaging and cashing out himself so it's going to take a little longer for each customer to get an order complete. No matter, it gave me time to decide which of the desserts I should order. All the pastries I got were crafted to perfection. My favorite was the almond crumb cake. The combination of soft and crunchy textures with the lovely almond flavors in the batter and with sliced almonds on top were heavenly. Chef was so friendly and pleasant to talk to. I hope he decides to sell his horchata "quatro leches" cake by the slice one of these days at his booth or for small order pickup, I'd love to try it out one of these days! "Guilty PleasuresIf you're familiar with Whole Foods, it's your typical store. If you have never been to one, it's an organic, all natural grocery store with lots of fresh and healthy prepared foods. I know the prices at Whole Foods can seem a tad high at times, but so are the options. Honestly, I like to just wander around the store and imagine the possibilities. The prepared food is as good if not better then many restraunts, especially when it comes to the deserts. In addition to delicious deserts, there is a large fresh salad bar, healthy prepared foods, coffee, cheese counter, fresh juice bar, and wonderful fresh meats and seafood. There are so many choices and each and everyone is so good. This location has nice seating as we were there for a quick lunch (in addition to wandering the grocery store). The staff are friendly, accomdating, and the store is clean. What more could you want in a grocery store?"

"I came to this area for a haircut. The barbershop next door was supposed to open at 9'o'clock but the doors never opened. Sooo, I started looking around and a lady was leaving with the best smelling concha's. I asked how good are they...she said,"the best and make sure to get you a bolillo with cream and jalapeño's inside". Excitedly I walked right in and the woman behind the counter was nice and showed me where to tongs were to get the baked items I'd like. Everything smelled so good I didn't know what to choose. I got 3 conchas, 2 donuts, and an apple empanada. All were very soft and fluffy and my empanada had a nice flaky crust to it. I also bought two of the bolillos which were bomb! I'll definitely be coming back as all of my pan was awesome! They also sell birthday cakes and other stuff too so don't be shy to come in and check it out!"

We tried the wedding, birthday, and Paris teas and I loved each of them but have to say, Paris was my favorite. The tea sandwiches were delicious- my favorite was the cucumber and cream cheese. The scones were SO good served with clotted cream, strawberry preserves and lemon- I loved the lemon. Last but not least were the deserts. The GF chocolate cupcake was phenomenal. It was rich and every bite melted in my mouth. I had to take home the rest of the treats but I know I'll find them to be just as delicious. We were never rushed and spent about 2 hours enjoying our tea and one another's company. We all really loved the tea service and will be back to enjoy again!"

My faithful Yelp app had just the answer to bring my happiness back; cupcakes. Upon entering the shop, masks are required. The minute that we entered the baker/employee was in the back of the house attending to cupcake business. She came through the door and greeted us in a most wonderful way. Let's just say that she made my day and my happy return. The hours posted on the door show that this bakery closes up at four pm. We wandered in around 3:30 pm. At the time the bakers display case was empty. Inquiring if she had anything ready we proceeded to move to where she kept already naked naked cupcakes. Having a choice of vanilla or chocolate; I went with two of each. Now here's where the magic happens. I needed a little piece of magic to make the afternoon splendid and magical. How do you make magic from cupcakes? Why turn those cupcakes into unicorns? The baker did not even question my request. We only ordered four, but the baker went to work to make those unicorn cupcakes epic. I let her choose the unicorn design and coloring; and could not of been happier.This cupcake shop does remarkable work from scratch. I was overjoyed by the work that she did in under ten minutes. The employees here observe the COVID rules. As she made the cupcakes gloves were worn. She even changed her gloves in between grabbing the cupcakes and taking them to be frosted in the back. I could not of been happier with these beautiful cupcakes.How does that cupcake taste? The icing was delicious and not too sweet. The cupcake part was soft and when eating the cake portion did not crumble in my hands. The balance of frosting to cake was reasonably. Let's celebrate life for a moment together. Take a few deep breaths, now exhale. Take that first lick from the unicorns ear. Then now let's bite into the cake and frosting together. Can you feel the magic taking ahold of you. Time for another cupcake, I'm needing some more magical decadence.Now that my happy button has been updated, it's time to wander and discover new memories. They had a lot of Hispanic bakery goods I have never seen before. We got so many different varieties from baked goods, geletina, and tortillas. All of the goods we bought were fabulous. My favorite was the Rosca de Reyes bread!' The best I've ever had. It's got an extra flavor and it was so soft!! I was sad we only got the small one. I was lucky enough to get the baby Jesus twice.
