Okay, wait. I love pho. It's my go to meal for any day. I was crazy and braved the Tacoma Mall on Christmas Eve. After all the craziness, my sister and I wanted a nice bowl of pho. This was the closest and most convenient place to go so we took a gamble even though the reviews aren't so great... which I don't get.. why? The pho was on point. I didn't even add in any Sriracha or sauce because it was so dang flavorful. Not only that, we ordered two spring rolls, one with just shrimp and the other with everything (ham, etc) for me since my sister is a pescatarian. They were kind enough to give us separate peanut sauce bowls without us even asking. Not only that, my hair was down and kind of getting into my bowl and one of the waiters came up to me and handed me a hair tie. So dang thoughtful. Long story short... if you're ever in the area, give this place a try. Totally worth it. I got the tendon and beef pho and my sister got the seafood pho. We both enjoyed our bowls thoroughly.

This place has the worst food!! Either their reviews are fake or from people that don't know better!! The owner is rude as fudge and the sauces on the tables are rotten this is my 2nd time eating there, the 1st time was when they 1st opened, it was nasty then too, I thought I would give them another chance since it has been at least a couple years but it's still just as bad or worse and my stomach is killing me I will never eat there again!!!!! If I could give 0 stars I would!!! You want good pho go to 38th and pacific ave DO NOT EAT HERE!!

So very very disappointed. I love pho 38 its been my go to place whenever I'm in tacoma to get good pho. Today I made the mistake of trying something different. Who doesn't love thai curry? I know I do and I was craving something savory sweet and spicy. So I bypassed my usual #17 order of pho and ordered the green curry. My husband ordered the yellow curry *not pictured. I was shocked when it came at the huge serving or rice and curry that seemed to be the exact same as what my husband ordered. Taste was bland, not spicy at all despite being warned beforehand and opting for medium spice. This wasn't a curry it was a soup extremely watery almost like a basic soup stock with a dash of curry powder. Nothing creamy/thick/or green in my case about it. I was dismayed to taste my husband's and them tasting the same.We also ordered appetizers. Gyoza and fried spring rolls.. the appetizers themselves were good however the spring roll dipping sauce had also been watered down.. If you go to pho 38 stick with the pho or else you may get more water than what you order.

As a vegetarian/vegan, this is such a great spot for Vietnamese food! You have lots to choose from! I've traveled all over the world and this is one of my top 3 Vietnamese food spots!

Used to come here every week with my parents as a kid, so I returned recently for nostalgic purposes. They've really stepped the decor up a notch, I loved the mural inside! The smell of the food is delicious and brought back so many memories. I loved my soup, but unfortunately afterwards I had some major gastrointestinal distress It was definitely brought on by the food, not sure if they just cook with a lot of MSG (which upsets my stomach), if there are food safety problems, or if there was meat broth in my meal (which was listed as vegetarian). I probably won't be going back because of it, which is a bummer, but their food safety rating on display was good, so if you aren't vegetarian/don't have stomach trouble from MSG, you are probably fine.

Ordered off ubereats two veggie pho's, some fries and mozzarella sticks. my boyfriend and i don't eat meat and haven't for years. unfortunately his bowl had pork underneath the tofu and noodles, so we called to make sure it was what we thought it was. the person on the phone asked if he could just take the meat out, which like. no lol i don't want to eat something that's had meat sitting with it, just that will literally make you nauseous when you haven't eaten meat in years. we just hung up and decided to process the refund through ubereats. it sucks because my pho was really good, i loved the noodles and veggies. it also came with sauces to customize the flavor of the soup, but as a vegetarian, it really sucks when i can't trust that my food won't have meat in it

Went here a lot when I was a little boy but wanted to try it out again as a man.I was super hungover and my go to spot "Pho Saigon House" was closed so I went here to cure myself. I got a large Pho Dac Biet and it did not disappoint! Right off the bat I already notice that they pack the bowl with a lot of protein which I love. The broth was almost perfect, so I didn't need to add much hoisin or sriracha. Overall this place cured my hangover and brought me back to life. It was really good! Would come back

My friends and I were craving pho after a long day of hiking so we decided to come to Pho38th.SERVICE: 4/5The service was quick and we got our food a few minutes after we ordered. I also liked how they asked us if we were fine with adding the onion and cilantro incase we didn't want it. FOOD: 4/5I ordered the Meatball Pho Bowl. It was simple and the broth was flavorful. No complaints about the meal.SANITATION : 3/5Everything seem clean except when they gave us the dipping sauce bowl, there were a few small stains from previously. I just wiped it down with a paper napkin and it went away, but I suggest making sure the bowls are clean before giving it to the customers.PARKING: 5/5There is a parking lot with plenty of spaces. It was easy to find an open spot during a weekday night.Overall, a great place to eat if you want something soupy and warm!
