Still a solid place to get pho. It's unfortunate that they continue to use plastic spoons, soup bowls, and utensils, but I get that it's a food court place. The meats are flavorful, the broth is freshly made each day, and now they also offer a combo option pairing a noodle soup with either a spring roll or a bao.Friendly service.

I have mixed feelings about this order - it was a pretty good price, especially for being just outside of Boston, but the actual quality wasn't as good as other banh mi sandwiches I've had in MA. Dorchester still remains the best place to get high quality and good priced banh mi, but if you were looking for a budget one with average quality, Pho Express wasn't terrible.Banh Mi ($7.50) - I got the cold cut version for a very reasonable price. The plusses were that the pate was quite good, there was enough (not abundant, but enough) meat, and the pickled vegetables were very nice on the sandwich. The negatives were that the bread was so overly toasted and hard that it nearly cut up the top of my mouth when eating it and there were a strangely large amount of raw onions in the sandwich. The cilantro was also in really long strands, but that didn't impact the experience as much. The hard bread and large quantity of raw onions definitely didn't do any favors though. However, like I said, the price was reasonable and if I removed some of the onions and squished the bread a little, it was not terrible. All in all, I'd give it a 3/5. I'd have it again in a pinch, but I'd prefer my banh mi to not hurt my mouth when I eat it if possible.

There are not that many good restaurants in this food court anymore with pho viet, Kantin, and the Korean place (I don't remember what it was called but their kimbap was great) however this place still had an AMAZING bahn mi. They only offer the cold cut version but please trust me, it is the same satisfying as a bbq pork without it feeling heavy or overly sweet. Their cold cut banh mi is a great size, generous with the pate, fresh, and the bread is the perfect amount of chewy without it being soggy or too stale and stiff. The owners were very nice and gracious too! A great snack to munch on while your grocery shop or wait for the train. It is genuinely so tasty and feels good for your soul. Don't underestimate the cold cut banh mi !!!!!

I am bummed to give this place 1 star, especially in the times of Covid, but like other folks mentioned, the food is just not good. I ordered beef Pho, and let me tell you, that beef smelled reaaal suspect. Was it old, was it just not seasoned? I don't know, and I didn't want to find out. I tried to just eat the noodles, but the noodles said no, they were hard/not cooked all the way. But even if the noodles had been cooked well, that broth had a strange color to it, and that beef smell...I had to throw the whole meal away. :(

A new Viet place in 88 in the back across from Kantin. I ordered 2 beef banh mi's and waited about 15 minutes for 2 less than average sandwiches. I was highly disappointed after waiting so long. It looks like they cook their meat to order as I saw them bring over meat in a pan to their sandwich assembly station. There's barely any filling and only 1 piece of meat that wasn't flavorful. The bread to filling ratio was off, and the bread didn't have any flaky crunch to it. It was soft and dry. It was highly disappointing and I would not recommend getting food from here when you have a few better options within the food court. If you want Viet food, go down the street to Pho Viet's or Le's.

To put it short, I'm offended this has pho in the name. The former Pho restaurant in super88 was pretty alright, and upon seeing this place, I thought it would be too. I was wrong. The prices for the pho were about average, $10 for a large bowl (Only one size) and the photos / menu looked appealing and modern, so I wanted to give it a try. I wish I didn't. The beef was chewy and unflavored, and my god those noodles were terrible. It was like I was chewing on grass. TL;DR Don't go here, just go down the street to Pho Viet's if you're in Allston.

Sorry to leave a bad review, but this place was truly awful. The food was so bad that we barely touched it. Flavors were off, didn't seem fresh and some of the portions were tiny (not that it mattered since we barely touched the food)! Hope the owners realize they need to improve the quality of the food if they want to do well...

Terrible chicken banh mi. The "meat" is thin slices of preserved meat - like deli meat but not *anything* recognizable as chicken. The pate / spread on the baguette is also an acquired taste. Never again -- especially when Pho Viet is just down the street & has an amazing banh mi. I am so disappointed.
