Walked in Saturday evening with my GF - no wait at all plenty of seating. Place has a clean modern look to it but I knew it was authentic with the Vietnamese event posters outside the restaurant. On the front page of the menu they showed the clams, and they looked good so we ordered that and of course some pho. The clams were very good - 9/10 for me strong ginger flavor in this savory sauce. There's also cilantro and onions soaked in that sauce that's tasty with the clams. You can choose your spice level 1-5, and I opted for 3 to play it safe. Not too much heat but can tell it was there. The pho was very interesting. I thought the broth was VERY fatty/oily, but it provided a strong beef flavor; however, I couldn't get over the lack of spices I note in the broth. You could taste the usual pho spices (star anise, cinnamon, etc.), but was overpowered by the fatty richness of the broth in my opinion. I think it fills you up as a result and also helps the noodles be slick. Not that much beef (like really only a few slices huge bummer), but overall I thought it was not bad pho at all.Service was good, made recommendations after I asked and was really good on checking up on us throughout the meal. However, there was no side plates on the table options to pour your sauce in and also no chopsticks - we had to ask for them. I'm glad that it's even closer to me than Pho Chandler and Khai Hoan so I was really hoping it was better, but honestly I'm not sure if it is. I think it comes down to if you like your broth to be fatty and richer beef flavor taste.

Pho Da Lat.Have had better pho, have had worse pho. This place still deserves five stars for their amazing customer service and attentiveness.Yelpers, Yelpees, and Yelperettes:Please heed notice. There are no more $8 dollar pho bowls in Phoenix. Wake up and smell the pho, everything costs a lot more now. From gasoline, to groceries, to a little bottle of store branded water. Minimum wages contribute to cheap culinary delights. Many would argue that minimum wages have nothing to do with cheap culinary delights, well, I beg to differ. Wherever the costs of doing business are higher, food costs are also higher. Pretty simple if you think about it.Anyways, bang for the buck you will not go wrong with this pho spot. Restaurant is nicely organized, background music (top 40) is noticeable but not obnoxious, restrooms are clean, service is quick and attentive. After sitting in for over an hour I could not think of any reason to not give this place their well deserved five stars. Good job. Jordan

I don't know why this place has such low reviews. Yea it's not the best Vietnamese food in the world but dang how many restaurants have been the best you've ever tasted? This pho is still DELICIOUS and to me was one of those "can't go wrong" type of places. Their pho and broth was so yummy and flavorful I didn't even feel the need to season the broth with sriracha and hoisin like I usually do. The thin sliced brisket was actually tender and fresh tasting. We also ordered fresh spring which the pork was just ok and could use more seasoning on the meat but the shrimp one was fresh and hit the spot! Overall the restaurant was crowded and they had a spot to do karaoke but the service was still really fast! If I was in the area this would be my go to spot. I'd give it a try!

Oooo- this is my first visit to a Vietnamese restaurant and I will tell you, Pho Da Lat does not disappoint! We started out with a number of appetizers. When the server came back he had certain dips for each app, which was amazing! For our main meal 3 of the group ordered the pho with me ordering the Chef's Special, Pepper Tofu. Wow on all of it! I was told the pho was so good and such a large portion you can take it home for another meal! The owner is also the chef here so everything is made fresh to order. Service here was also spot on. Eat local and when you have a craving for Vietnamese go to Ph Da Lat!

The ginger clams were good, refreshing from the ginger and cilantro. A little sweet and a little spicy. Got a few bites of sand (or shell?) but overall very good. I got a spice level of 3 but would probably get more spicy next time. The pho was pretty good, had a strong beef flavor. It was a bit oily and not too much meat inside, but overall pretty good. The broth didn't taste murky like some other pho spots I've been to.

What a gem! Been wanting to visit this restaurant since I moved to Arizona but didn't get a chance. Today was the day. Came for physiotherapy next door and had to stop by for some Vietnamese food. I ordered the spicy tofu with spice level 5 entree and it was delicious just as I had imagined it to be. The Vietnamese iced coffee was authentic and tasted exactly the same as it did in Vietnam. My husband loved his pho with 2 entree (chicken & brisket). The service was really quick and nice. There's ample parking too. It's a must visit for anyone who loves Vietnamese food or is willing to experiment. Definitely returning.

THE CAT IS OUT OF THE BAG BECAUSE PHO DALAT'S CATFISH IS HERE. Most famous for their Vietnamese catfish dish that everyone ravvvvves about. I also got their bún or rice noodle dish and it's a nice light pairing for this. I personally got the bún with beef and egg rolls and the flavor was A1. Cover it in fish sauce. Just do it. There are also TVs that play sports and such in the background. We decided to head to Tempe for lunch and time with my daughter. Pho always sounds good so we looked around and found Pho Dalat. It was easy to find and parking wasn't too bad. It was definitely busy already at 11am and that's a great sign . This place sits in an unassuming shopping center. I might have driven by it before and never seen it. That's definitely my loss because our entire experience was great. When we walked in we were greeted with not only smiles, but seated right away as well. Instead of seating us all bunched together with other patrons they put us in a quieter section closer to the stage. That's right, they have a stage for live music. I didn't get to ask many questions about it, but their Facebook shows dates and such of the bands/singers. It looks like it would be a great time. The decor was pretty typical of other Vietnamese locations I've been in. Some wall art, lanterns hanging from the ceiling etc. the location is larger than it looks from outside and holds many booths and large tables for groups. The restaurant was clean and decent lighting without it being too bright from the sun. The menu was pretty vast and I loved there were so many authentic options. There are so many pho spots around the valley that cater more to American type and it was great to see some things I've honestly never tried. Today we ordered some crispy springs rolls for an appetizer which came with fish sauce for dipping. They looked so yummy when they came out and tasted even better than they looked. They were definitely crispy and the pork and veggies inside had great flavor. Two of us ordered the seafood pho and one chicken pho. Everything came out so quick. The portions of pho were awesome . I typically have shrimp or dumpling pho so today was different for me since I'd never tried squid or fried fish meatballs which is included in the soup along with shrimp and imitation crab meat. While I love to try new things I get a little Squeamish with some seafood just looks alone, but I'm always down to try it anyway and I'm so glad I did. The least favorite was definitely the imitation crab, but everything else was delicious. I really liked the squid and the fish meatballs just tasted like regular fish. The broth was great and so filling. The noodles were cooked perfectly and added sriracha, bean sprouts and jalapeños kicked it up a notch. Service was great and we didn't have to ask for drink refills or anything. He even offered to add our pho to go containers for us. There was a bit of a language barrier, but not too bad. I wish it was closer to come more often because it was definitely a hit for us all.

This is our family's favorite restaurant for Vietnamese grilled catfish. The chef managed to make this special and hard-to-perfect dish perfectly every single time. The skin is crispy and tasty and the inside is moist and firm, just perfect for making the roll with rice paper and a variety of fresh herbs. They also got the sauce that went with this dish beautifully mixed with pineapple & hot pepper, just the right mix of spicy, sweet & sour. We have not found any other restaurant in the valley that even offer this dish, let alone get it so perfectly grilled. We've celebrated many special family occasions with this dish, at this restaurant, with its friendly staff. Thanks Pho Da Lat for keeping this dish going.
