Pho Bo

Pro: Quiet on a Tuesday. Open wall entry so nice breeze and view. Can have dogs on outdoor seating. Great size tripe. Nice and clean. 3 large TVs on wall with different programs on. Nice staff. Good size portions. They have sugar substitutes for your unsweetened tea. Con: bit slow on service on slow day. No follow up from staff. Parking can be a bit challenging. No refills offered on my tea or asked. Bottom Line: would return.

Tried this Pho Bo place three times already and I found it when we were at Gaslamp , but I had a sudden change in my craving again. From Pasta, my craving had changed to Soup. I searched on Yelp for the nearest Soup place that I had not been to yet and this PHO BO place showed up in my Search. We have been here three times already and we always order the same thing, the food that we liked from the first time we were here. These are the foods we keep ordering that we like so far.*PHO BO (RIBS & SHANKS) *GOI CUON (SPRING ROLLS) *COMBINATION FRIED RICE *VERMICELLI RICE NOODLES with GRILLED PORK & EGG ROLL We started with their Springs rolls. They were decent sizes, they were fresh, and they were delicious, and the Peanut dipping sauce was perfect. I always like to add Sriracha to my Peanut dipping sauce for my Spring rolls and it's just so good. Their Combination fried rice was also good, they weren't soggy or overcooked. I love Vermicelli Rice Noodles, everything in my Bowl was flavorful, the grilled Pork and egg roll were delicious with all those noodles, sauces, and veggies.The main reason I came back here 3 more times already was because of their PHO BO (RIBS & SHANK) SOUP! This is so good, I really like the BROTH here on the RIBS & SHANK, the Rib's size was good, but I wish that they could make it so that the Meat of the Ribs is easy to pull apart from the bone. But the meat is still tender when it's already separated from the Bone, it's still soft to eat, it's not hard or chewy at all and the meat is also very tasty. All in all, I love their RIBS soup here. The service was good, Bao (our server) was quick and attentive to what we might need. Parking was easy, there's parking available on their side streets.

Well, what can I say about Pho Bo.. this place is very good! The food quality, portions and authenticity was on point! The service was amazing and quick. If you are craving some top quality Vietnamese food this is definitely a place to visit. I will absolutely come back to try some banh mi sandwiches.

Nice environment. They open the front so the air is very fresh. The serving size is small compared with other restaurants. The noodles break easily not sure if it is wBecause it's dinner time. The soup is very nice. Right after you finish a guy will pick up your bowl which is not very comfortable.

Pho on a rainy day? Cant get much better than that, right? Ehh.. just not from here. Three of us ordered delivery from here and we all agreed it was less than satisfying. We even ordered an extra bowl to share later in the evening but we ended up tossing the whole order away because we didn't like it. It honestly didn't even taste like pho. The broth was sooo dark and none of the spices came through. It was basically just a beef broth with rice noodles. I will say that the quality of the rare meat and the fatty beef brisket were of high quality though. Other than that, the pho was a major fail. I'm a big pho fanatic. Probably too much. I was just very much bummed with the execution of this meal. Wish I could say differently but I doubt I'll be eating from here again /:

Whilst traveling, I'm always skeptical of trying new pho spots. But Pho Bo definitely exceeded my expectations. I got the rare steak pho with meatballs and it was tasty. Broth was a little on the darker side and flavorful. The portions are great! A small was plenty! Thai tea was perfect. Service was great and restaurant was very clean. Now I know a good pho spot for the next time I return to SD! YUMMM.

We came in for dinner and to our surprise, we were the only ones there! The service was speedy and the food was delicious! Highly recommend the spring rolls!!

It's always a pleasure to sit in and visit. The owner served us today and he was so attentive and kind. The food is always the perfect touch to a rainy day. The place is always cozy, it was cold in there but it still was a great time. See YA'LL soon

No frills at this restaurant. Service is what I would expect at a Vietnamese restaurant. We sat ourselves and they took our order pretty quickly after we got the menus. The food is pretty good, it's not the best pho I've ever had but it's decent. Banh mi was small. Prices were on the higher end.

On A Family Vacation When We Happened To Have Come Across This LocationA Bit Small But Friendly Staff, Yummy Food That We Received Right Away, Good Music/Environment.... Definitely Worth A Stop!
