Philz Coffee

I have been to this location a few times and really enjoy the coffee and the atmosphere here. I think one thing that stands apart is just how warm and friendly everyone is all the time. Celia made my day today. Her hospitality was unexpected and very appreciated. I was so happy I got a little choked up to be honest. I have recommended this place before but I definitely will be more specific and recommend the state and Chicago Ave location hands down. Thank you for making my day brighter today and every day I have been coming there. This iced coffees I got today feels warm to the soul today for sure.

Philz has a great crew and delivers way more than just coffee and any purchase is more than just a transaction. I left with a lighter step and a brighter smile than when I entered. Don't understand all the positive reviews to be honest. Having had Philz from multiple locations in the Bay Area for years, this location has never lived up to that standard. Popular drinks such as the rosé, ecstatic, mocha tesora do not even come close to the taste and quality as they do in California. The service is also much poorer here. No friendly faces, conversations, etc. This experience is specific to this one barista who I have also seen at every visit. Let's just say this is how he greets us every time "hi .. -_-.." The last time I was here, I also noticed he first made drinks for people who ordered in the store after I submitted my online order and then showed attitude when I asked him if my drink was ready when I didn't get mine on time(because the app told me to check in).

My go-to order at Philz is the iced Mint Mojito coffee with the sweet and creamy modifier!If you're a fan of sweet iced coffee drinks, you will love this!

I've really warmed up to this Mission District transplant, especially since discovering the app, with which one can preorder and not have to wait. This is a busy location, and the specialty here is the pour over, with its more time consuming prep. I like the different coffee choices, from dark & bold to light & bright, and the light, medium and creamy options for cream and sweetness options for sugar. They have specialty coffee drinks here, but I most often choose a dark & bold pour over with medium cream, and it's always a delicious cup. Not sure about the other Yelpers' claims of unfriendliness; the staff here always have a smile for me and are willing to take a brief moment for a chat.

So excited to find and order Philz coffee again! I first tried it in CA and it was really good. I got a Rose this time which was pretty good, but I think I prefer Iced Mint Mojito.

standard philz location, coffee is ok, customizable, favorite drinks are the mint mojito and mocha tesora. the standard philz can be heavy depending on the size so take that into account when customizing your order. service was quick, just not my favorite coffees

My first Philz experience!I was surprised I had never heard about Philz when I realized this coffee shop has a significant following.All their coffee is brewed, no espresso. They have cold brew, iced coffee, and pour overs, plus a significant menu of specialty drinks with flavoring.At first, this kind of reminded me of Mary Lou's (for you New Englanders) but I actually loved my experience. Off the menu, I chose the mojito iced coffee. I love mint and coffee together so I really enjoyed this coffee. I got medium sweetness and medium creaminess. Unlike other places, they don't overdue the sweetness - medium was barely sweet, which is the way I like it. The coffee even had a generous heap of fresh mint leaves (which I guess for $7 makes sense).Everyone who worked here was really friendly and offered to make any adjustments as they handed you your coffee.I'm still an espresso / iced latte fan at heart, but I really enjoyed this elevated brewed coffee cafe. Will stop at Philz next time I have the chance!

BEST COFFEE EVER!! The Mocha Tesora is to die for! So rich and creamy! I have craved the coffee ever since I got it! A good spot to work in. Staff is kind. I am going to have to go again & again & again!!

Philharmonic soul is a must!! I love Philz so much as they are able to lower the sweetness and accommodate to my dairy intolerance.
