After my husband and I visited Sea World, we were hungry for some Philly cheesesteaks! Unfamiliar with San Diego, we looked on Yelp for nearby restaurants. Philadelphia Sandwich was one of the first restaurants to pop up on the search! It wasn't too difficult to get to. We took the major highways and then got off on some local streets. The restaurant is located in a plaza with other businesses. Parking spaces were limited. Philadelphia Sandwich is a locally owned restaurant. The restaurant hours are from Monday - Saturday between 10:00 A.M and 8:00 P.M. As you enter the restaurant, you'll notice all of the Philadelphia jerseys from hockey, football, and even basketball! There is an Iverson #3 Jersey on the wall! There are plenty of tables situated throughout the restaurant. Each table had their own ketchup, salt, pepper, and BBQ sauce! Looking at their menu, the restaurant had a variety of offerings from cheesesteaks, pizza, salad, French fries, and some desserts! We had to get some cheesesteaks, though![1] Steak Cheesesteak with provolone (Regular size)[1] Mushroom Steak Cheesesteak with cheezwiz (Regular size)Everything was cooked fresh to order! It took approximately 15 minutes to prepare, but it was totally worth the wait! The Steak Cheesesteak was delicious! The beef was juicy and tender. The provolone cheese was perfectly melted on the steak. The best part about the cheesesteak, though, was the bread. The bread was sooo good! The interior was soft, but it was also slightly crisp on the outside. My husband enjoyed the Mushroom Steak Cheesesteak. The French Fries were good. They were shoestring style French fries, perfectly salted. None of the French Fries were salty or overfried. We had an amazing time at Philadelphia Sandwich. There was a local that we spoke to at the restaurant who had been visiting Philadelphia Sandwich for years! Supposedly, this is one of the best Philly cheesesteak restaurants in San Diego! This is a must visit if you're in the area.

We ordered 2 large sandwiches and a side of seasoned fries. It was just the right amount of food for us, so I am glad I did not go with my original inclination for the regular size. Looking at the menu photo for this review, I just realized we weren't given any pickle spears. Darn, I love pickles!-Philly cheese steak with cheese whiz ($13.50): Not enough Cheez Whiz is my main complaint. Unclear that I even tasted the cheez. I inhaled the sandwich regardless, but I would recommend getting the provolone cheese since our other sandwich had clear cheesy goodness. -Joe's special (Philly cheese steak, mushrooms, bell pepper) with provolone ($15.50): Great contrast of flavors. There was a nice balance between the tender meat, peppers, mushrooms, which were all encased in melted provolone cheese. I would recommend everyone default to this sandwich. -Seasoned fries ($5): Freshly fried so they were nicely hot. The amount of saltiness was just right, but I do not know if they were seasoned with anything special. I was dying to order the cheesesteak fries, but abstained because I was trying to be healthy (yeah, I know), so I need to come back to try those. Ambiance: Small eatery. There is no bathroom, but there is a small sink next to the soda dispenser where you can wash your hands. Service: Order at the counter, and the friendly owner brings the food to you. Parking: There is a free lot. However, like all of Miramar Rd, the parking lot was full of potholes.

Fantastic, authentic cheesesteaks. Onions and provolone is the only acceptable way to order.Hard working, extremely polite workers. It's always a pleasure to eat here.

I'm always looking for a yummy cheesesteak because they're my fave! I can't attest to the service since I ordered online. It was an easy to find place, small, quaint and seemed like a friendly vibe. The picture shown was $19.99 plus taxes. Now I will say the fries were good but just your standard overall fry, nothing spectacular. The cheesesteak which is the star of the show wasn't the greatest one I have had but it was decent. The cheese was on bottom so it melted into the bread to where I barely tasted it and that was underwhelming. The meat itself was good, I could taste the jalapeños and peppers but I didn't get much season or wow factor with this sandwich. Would I spend $20 on this again, ehh not sure.

What a gem. Small little place hidden in a strip mall. Great old school ambiance. I was quickly greeted. My order was taken and food came out very quickly and was hot and fresh. Great tasting. Would definitely be back.

Was in the mood for. Philly Cheesesteak so I decided to give this place another try...ordered a six inch Philly cheesesteak and fries...food was good! Cheesesteak was good and the fries were hot and cooked perfectly. Service was fast and friendly. Place was clean and had some cool memorabilia on the walls. Glad I came back and had this good experience. I will come back again!

Ordered the Philly cheese steak with fries. It had good flavor. Not the best I've had but definitely wasn't a bad experience.

Definitely all things Philly (Eagles, Phillies, Flyers, the Liberty Bell and Rocky Balboa)! The cheesesteaks are absolutely DELICIOUS! The bread is light and the meat sliced thin!! Friendly behind-the-counter staff!!

Lady at the counter was abrasive and doesn't know what customer service is. She is the only reason why I will not come back. The food was very average and there are definitely better cheesesteaks in San Diego. Really bummed out at this place given its long history

This is a hole in the wall restaurant with a few small tables. The Joe's special (Philly cheesesteak with cheese, bell peppers, mushrooms) was delicious. The bread gets a bit soggy if you take it to go, but fresh in the restaurant it's mouthwatering with a slight crunch from the toasted bread.
