Persimmon Bar & Grille

Chef has really stepped his game at the club. Seafood and Prime-rib night are big hits. Nothing better than wrapping up the week with a cold martini and enjoying the amazing view from the Persimmon patio.

We ordered spaghetti, pretzels, burger and a sandwich. I had to spit everything out. This is the worst food I have had in my life, food took forever to arrive, and we had to come back in different clothing because of the very strict dress code, do not come here 0/10 never again.

We live in the area and I wanted to try the club restaurant. We had heard mixed reviews and wanted to see for ourselves. The service was good, the food was ok/good (not great) and the atmosphere seemed a bit like a slightly higher end retirement community room. I was disappointed at the feel as the menu would seem to call for white tablecloths and some better looking seats. That would dress it up.I had the Bass or Cod (cannot recall as it was not all that memorable). It actually looked great and the presentation was nicely done, but the flavor was more on the bland side. My wife got the stuffed chicken which was stuffed with a sausage mix. She liked it although I did not get a taste so it is hard to tell. I had an old fashioned which was good and came in what seemed like a better than average portion. We also had a bottle of Cabernet.Overall, we likely won't go back despite it being so close and with menu items that are in the the higher end in town but if it is not made exceptionally well and with an atmosphere that doesn't match the menu, why go? For my money, even with escalating gas prices, I will just take the trek into Scottsdale.

New chef Chris is amazing. All new menus which changes and the food is excellent and unique. I just wish they served food later. It would be nice to be able to stay in the club to grab a drink and an appetizer past 8pm.

Some how, some way, this place disappoints because they promote themselves as a restaurant but in fact they are a private club. Non members are turned away. I found this out after driving for 30 miles to have lunch there and refused service. Before I went there I reviewed their website wondering if non members were welcome similar to other golf courses I have visited. Something weird about the way they do business in my opinion.

For those that don't know, this is a private club inside the Anthem Country Club. If you are just looking for a place to go, you must be with a member. Now that that's out-of-the-way, I have lived here for seven years and I have never had a bad meal at either of the clubs. High quality every time and the staff is always extremely helpful and friendly.

Excellent service from Nicole B, and the food was AMAZING! We had the wedge salad which was one of the best I've had anywhere, and the filet was PERFECT! I'm not sure why this place only has 2.5 stars, but we have been here for several meals, and have always been happy!

I was excited to take my wife and her parents here for seafood night. $62 a plate and the Seafood was poorly prepared and bland. The worst part to come was when the bill arrived. There was a $42 service charge. Not an included gratuity. On a very poor $250 dinner, I ended up paying $99 for service fee and gratuity. About 45% of total bill. I would not recommend eating here. It is actually the second time this place has completely disappointed us.

Hi,Our recent experience at Persimmon was very pleasant. We came for dinner on a Saturday evening about 7 o'clock. My partner, Ken, had the salmon dinner, and I had a French dip sandwich. the food was served in a timely manner, pleasantly displayed on the plate, and it was very tasty. Our server was very pleasant and helpful as well. Thank you, Sandy Van.

It was our first time to Persimmon Bar and Grille, we were invited as guests and were pleasantly surprised. The steak was seasoned and cooked to perfection. The hummus plate came beautifully prepared with crudités. My daughter ordered nachos which I was a little disappointed that she ordered. Once they arrived I was pleasantly surprised. They were beautifully plated for nachos and some of the best I have had. I'm not someone to order nachos, and I would not only recommend but order them myself. They do a really beautiful job at taking simple food and making them something special. Service was good too.
