Next to impossible to drop this special spot cleanly in a single category. An aperitif/digestif bar with a surprising and impressive array of imported options. Small plates from the kitchen of nearby Medusa...excellent. All the beverages are available for bottle sales as well, along with an eclectic range of imported goods such as olives, anchovies, etc. Even some very good quality produce...which appears to share the Medusa connection again. Only four days per week (W--Sat) and limited hours...limited seating...but what a joy. And if you are like me and know little about the range of options, tastes and platforms for aperitif/digestif...just ask. They are knowledgeable and happy to answer any questions and guide your experience.

Wonderful experience, though we just stopped in the drinks. The proprietor was very kind and welcoming, even though we came in right before close. The twinkly pink ambiance and concrete floors were pleasingly femme and punk. Would definitely go back for dinner next time.

Italian cocktail / aperitif bar in Columbia City ...yes please. Awesome addition to the neighborhood, great space to hang out , have a few bites and drinks or do a bit of shopping for veggies, wine and cute gift items. I love the space , staff is so welcoming. The drinks are great if you are into Italian style aperitif. They have an extensive menu posted on the wall. I didnt know a whole lot about them and staff was so nice to explain them and give recommendations. They play music through a vintage turntable, music selection this evening was David Bowie. That set the tone, vibe was easy, chill and get a drink. We ordered some items with our drinks, they share the kitchen with La Medusa , so you know anything you order will be delicious. Im definitely coming back, Im down for chill vibes. Limited hours for now.

We stopped by Persephone before heading to dinner next door at Medusa. Part shop, part small bar with bites from next door, the space is a lovely shade of pink with welcoming vibes! We have been in a handful of times, and usually sample the various amaros or enjoy a glass of wine. We'll usually grab a few small bites, which seem to rotate based on season. The employees are always friendly and service is attentive. The bartender helps walk you through finding an amaro you may like, which you can order neat, on ice, or with soda water. To me, this is a hidden gem a bit south of downtown Seattle to enjoy a drink, small bites and shop!

Service was welcoming and informative! Just let them know what you're looking for and if you have any questions about their menu and amaro offerings! I don't know much about amaro and it's not 100% my thing, but an amazing place to try things out!Special: wow I wish I could remember the type of fish that was in this spread! I want to say barramundi or branzino?? but am not so sure. It was very soft and spreadable and had a delicious olive oil/pesto on top. Wish I ordered another one of these! The bread texture and grill was ON POINTSpaghetti puttanesca: al dente pasta, delicious tomato sauce. Very good!

Persephone is a little bit of this and that but a great place to get a little of this or that. Cute shop where I most often buy fresh pasta or produce from the table out front to make something at home. The fresh hand made pasta is so delicious and the produce is always lovely and local. I got a drink inside once and it was delicious and the inside is cozy.

Persephone is part of La Medusa. As such you can have drinks here and appetizers. They will then put that on your tab for La Medusa if you're waiting for a table to open there. The bartender, Mark is amazing. Tell him what kind of drink you like and he will custom craft something for you. They have an amazing collection of Amaro's, and bitters to make your drinks. There are also some high-end grocery items you can buy there.

I was looking for lemoncello .. I spent $42 on the only type they had and it was terrible, it tastes like alcohol with fake sweetness added. There is no way it's a true lemoncello. Very disappointing. And it's insulting for the price.

An absolute gem of an amaro bar and Italian mercantile. The setting is cozy but still felt private, with an assortment of table, bar, and low chair seating scattered throughout. The ambiance is set appropriately with dimmed lights and vinyl on the stereo. Delicious small plates from the La Medusa kitchen complement the extensive (and initially intimidating) list of amaro aperitifs and digestifs. But the true star that will keep us coming back is the incredibly helpful and knowledgeable staff. I can't recommend sitting at the bar enough, despite a completely full house we were offered individualized recommendations with tasting notes that evolved over several rounds, which made navigating the impressive inventory a breeze.
