I was around the area and decided to try a new place to eat. This place is really delicious. I know there are tacos shops on every corner. I do drive out of my way to go to this one!Everything is amazing from the Carne asada fries, Birria tacos, and their burritos. The staff is nice and always have a smile on their face.

While in San Diego we stopped by Penelope's Mexican food. Friendly easy to order and was fast best part yummmmmy , favorite was the beef flautas ! They have tv's and can watch the games , they had a nice best Micheladas! So we will have to try it next time

Clean space and great food. The portions were large and came out fairly quickly. I'm very picky when it comes to Mexican food because I cook it so often but this place did not miss any marks done to the salsas they offer. I highly recommend and we will be back. Service was quick and attentive.

First let me start by saying the restaurant is very nice on the inside. I enjoyed the decor, the outside is a bit rough, they have boards on some exterior areas so at first glance I thought they were closed. The service was below par. The girl taking orders was on the register but on her phone so I stood in front of her for about 2-3 minutes before clearing my throat and she acknowledged me. To make matters worse, people in the kitchen witnessed this and didn't get her attention. This also happened a second time when I went to ask for to go containers. As far as the food goes it was good, lacked a little of that birria spice we get from our favorite birria place and the consume was just basic consume. I agree the ingredients seem fresh but fresh doesn't mean lack flavor. I wouldn't say I'd go out of my way to try it again based off of bad service and just okay food.

Not the place to get Menudo. The menudo tasted old and reheated. Pozole was just as bad. I thought it would be better since it located in the hood Nope just sad.

We drove through and ordered the San Diego burrito and a quesabirria taco. Both excellent had the chipotle sauce on the side. So yummy!

My family got food poisoning here. Please take time to read this review to heed this place. I came here, we are from out of town, wanted to try something new and different, saw great reviews about this place and gave it a shot. The food was good at the time, like I enjoyed it, the water from their fountain drink is NOT good. DO NOT drink it. We had quesabirria tacos, and cali burrito. We were fine, once we almost made it home after a 5 hour drive, my daughter had vomit in her car seat, i started to feel sick to my stomach too, she threw up probably 6-7 times, and I threw up about the same. Chills, hot flashes, and lightheadedness. We know it's this place because it is the only food we had yesterday. Anyways, be careful coming here. Either they are super dirty in the kitchen, have dirty water or they just cross contaminated things. Who knows, we will never be back and will be requesting a refund. Not a good way to spend Mother's Day.

This place is such a gem that offers best Carne asada fries and best ceviche at really good portion sizes. It's mostly self serve area and offers drive- thru and spacious indoor dine-in. I love how the taco chips that came with the ceviche were in big pieces that you can split yourself. Love love love this place's food, definitely a must check out if you are in the area!

Decided to give this place a try again and still same "great" service. Made sure they nacho cheese before ordering and then once received my order. Confirmed it had nacho cheese and the lady at the window said yes. Came home and it doesn't. Didn't order the guacamole on it because the last time I came here the guacamole was brown.

What a great find! We happened upon this location while having our car serviced nearby. Clean, cool in the heat and nicely spaced out tables for privacy during your meal.They have a great menu selection and mama comes in every day to make a special item...how sweet is that?BBurritos so large you have to hold them with two hands. Competitive pricing and generous portions. Outside seating in the shade made for a nice visit. They have drive through and counter service. The living doll behind the counter had a beautiful smile and was very welcoming and accommodating. Great customer service. We shall return!
