Cant say Ive tried ribs all over the country, but these ribs were unique and definitely one of the better tasting ones Ive ever had. Got screwed when I bought sauces to take back to West Coast and got confiscated at the airport.. oh well. Second time around, I checked them in.

Tried out Peg Leg Porker while visiting Nashville.Place was pretty busy inside but the staff was accommodating and friendly.I ordered the pulled pork and French fries. I'm a 175lb male and I was disappointed in the portion of pulled pork which was around $13 dollars. The pork also was a bit dry and did not have any seasoning on it. Further the fries were soft and under-seasoned. I went to the front counter and had to order another 1/3lb serving for $7 more. I also asked for a side of their rib seasoning. The rub seasoning was awesome. In the end, I probably wouldn't get the pulled pork here again and I'd just go with the 1/2 rack of ribs. However, if you get the pulled pork, grab a side of the rib rub and use that on the pork and fries.

Being a Texan and telling you this is some damn good Q, that should be enough said right there. I fly into Nashville, land, get my luggage, rent my car, straight to Peg Leg just when they open. It's my routine now.

Amazing ribs!!!But get there early since they do sell out. There is a small bar (10-12 people) right inside the door. You can order food if you are sitting at bar so if there is an open spot, I recommend it. We sat at the bar and had great service! Peg Leg Porker also has their own bourbon worth trying if you are there.

Was looking for some Nashvillle bbq while I was in town and the Peg Leg Porker was close to my hotel. I ordered a half rack of ribs with coleslaw and potato salad $19. Coleslaw was a little dry, potato salad had more dill than I prefer. I didn't know what to expect for the ribs-- it's a dry rub, and there's mild bbq sauce available if you want. I ate it dry as served and it was cooked excellently. Meat just fell off the bone.I finished up and would have been content with just the ribs. I reexamine the menu for dessert options and the fried pie stood out ($5). Reviews online rave about this, so I went with apple, plus ice cream (+$2). It was good but even sweeter than I expected. Worth trying once at least!

Some of the best BBQ I have ever had. Their speciality is the dry rub ribs and they were the most delicious thing we ordered. Another favorite for us was the green beans, but truthfully everything was beyond scrumptious. The service is a general BBQ setting of ordering when you get inside and them calling your name when your order is ready. We sat outside in a nice shaded area but there is also general indoor and bar seating. Wouod 100% come back!

Dry-rub barbecue is the specialty here. I had never tried dry-rubbed ribs before, and I think I'm in love! I never even thought to ask for sauce, but I think they do provide sauce, if you want some. The menu is pretty succinct: dry-rubbed meats, sides, a couple of desserts. There's a bar at the other end of the restaurant if you want a beer or cocktail. I got the half rack of ribs with two sides, and I chose mac & cheese and slaw. I was told that the mac & cheese is the thing to get here, and yes, it is! The mac & cheese is super creamy and made with large shell pasta, sprinkled with a bit of pepper. It was amazing.I visited with a group, and we ordered a bunch of sides for the table. I demanded the Kool-Aid pickles, which are pickle spears soaked in cherry Kool-Aid. I don't even like pickles, but I needed to get this abomination of a side. And you know what? The Kool-Aid pickles were good! They tasted like pickles, but were a nice reddish color. We also got the pimento cheese, which came with a literal sleeve of saltines still in the plastic package. And the Memphis Sushi, which is a platter if kielbasa sausage circles served with rectangles of cheddar cheese, saltines and pepperocinis. I saw banana pudding on the menu, and I had to get that. I love a good banana pudding, and this one is great. It's served with whipped cream and a Nilla wafer on top. It's a great way to end a great southern barbecue meal.

Based on 'visiting Nashville' You Tube videos, Peg Leg Porker jumped out as a must for BBQ. Located in the Gulch district, it is an easy 15 minute walk from hotels near the CMHoF.The line was long, but moved quickly. There's also a courtesy rule (which is enforced) to grab a table only after you've ordered. Folks were trying to save seats only to be gently reminded to get back in line. There is outdoor seating. The BBQ is incredible. Melts in your mouth, comes with a dry rub. Can load up on BBQ sauce at the counter. In my case, they allowed me take the bottle back to the table. For two of us, the 1/2 rack of ribs and pulled pork platter (each with 2 sides) was more than enough. There is another outstanding BBQ establishment we visited (recommended by a ride share driver) in Nashville, but Peg Leg sides win out. The beans have a delicious smoky flavor. I've also eaten at a highly rated Texas BBQ joint, and Peg Leg is comparable if not better.Plenty of families eat here.

Service was friendly and helpful. Cashier was great. First off, I think this is very good for what it's supposed to be. However, I don't think I am a fan of Tennessee style bbq. Dry rub wings - Delicious, fall off the bone, huge. These are a must get Pulled pork - I don't usually like pulled pork. But I liked this. May be a touch bland for most but very moist. He's sauce if you need. Kielbasa - way too much seasoning on it. I love kielbasa, I hated this. Threw it away. Jalapeño cheddar sausage - Delicious. The best meat they made. Ribs - this is their signature. Fall off the bone. Good structure. I just don't like the taste. But I think it's more me than them. Yardbird - Delicious, moist, fall off the bone. They give you this sauce that is too sweet but I am sure many will like it. Potato salad - this is really good Bbq beans - Ok. No big deal. Overall this place is good. But not my taste. Standard bbq restaurant ambience. Feels clean.

I just don't think barbecue can get much better than this, and this is coming from someone who is NOT an avid BBQ eater but has been to spots all over the south. They are FAST and efficient after you order, their prices are incredibly reasonable and I loved every item they had to offer. In particular, their ribs, mac n cheese and coleslaw are divine.... but do not sleep on their jalapeño cheddar sausage, it was my favorite item on my plate! It's been quite a while since I was first here and I noticed no drop-off in quality whatsoever, and all of my friends raved about their meals as well.
