Serving less-than-desirable soul food in the South should be a crime. A family member who lives in the area recommended this place to us for a soul food dinner and I'm still left wondering why. The restaurant is nice, clean and vibrant. The have a few booths and tables inside. There's also an option to eat outside if you don't mind being dinner and dessert for the mosquitos! As other reviews have stated, anything fried is cooked to order so be prepared to wait. The fried shrimp were ok but the fried fish and turkey wings went straight to the garbage. All of our side dishes fell short with the exception of the macaroni and cheese. The piece of cornbread I was served tasted like it was made days prior. The peach cobbler was overly sweet and overpriced for the portion served. They raved about the lemonade but that fell short too! Its not fresh lemonade at all- its basically country time lemonade with an extra scoop or ten of sugar. The prices are high as the sky here!! Be sure to check your receipt before leaving. I got a small bottle of lemonade and was charged for a half gallon. The lady who took our order seemed extremely overwhelmed however the restaurant was basically empty. I asked her several times for tater sauce for my shrimp and I'm still waiting for it!

Maybe I am a little out of touch when it comes to southern food restaurants but I was sticker price shocked, and I guess the price is the price-lol! The Catfish dinner $23.00. The restaurant is set up cafeteria style, it wasn't very busy and the staff was extremely nice ...even when I told him that price was pretty high for Lunch. The mac & cheese was amazing so I will definitely visit again, I will just have to scrape a few more coins up-lol Parking good restaurant was extremely clean almost brand new, and the service was friendly . Support a small business.!

I've been to this location several times, I'm trying to like it, but the menu is very inconsistent and, what they do have, may sit there all day; they don't seem to cook anymore either if they run out ( I'm typically there between 6 & 7pm -- close at 10pm) so you're forced to get whatever they haven't sold. They don't have much help, so you can imagine the wait time. Everyone is expensive, but they are overpriced. I asked about the lemonade that I got one day and I was told that they didn't have time to make it; it's a qtr to 7pm. With this kind of service, I don't expect them to be open much longer. As I write, the place is empty. Such a shame.

Ms.Ruby Peach Cobbler gives warm vibes. I ordered the fried chicken dinner with an extra side of candied yams. My favorite part of this meal fried chicken. It's super crunchy and delicious 10/10. The sides were not too bad either . The greens were juicy and delicious and the dressing was ok. I recommend the gravy to give that added flavor. There are so many options to choose from and I will be back to try dinner options. The cakes look very tempting. However, I'll have to wait until after my diet.

If you want Piccadilly Cafeteria quality food for South City Kitchen prices, then this is your place! First of all, let's talk about the logo of Ms. Ruby and the wack shading job that gives her a bearded lady vibe. Next, if you're charging $33 per meal, then it better be freshly prepared. On a real plate. With a real fork. Not school cafeteria food scooped onto to-go containers. Next time we spend that much money on soul food, we'll head down the street to South City Kitchen where we will actually enjoy the food and the experience.

I've eaten here 3x now. The first was as a walk-in and I learned the chicken is dropped in fryer when you order. Waited too long. From that point on I've ordered using their website. I tried to call in (was driving) but they advised they don't take orders over the phone. Interesting. When I've ordered on the site (Smyrna location), they've called me back immediately to inquire about the protein I ordered. For some reason their ticket system drops off the meat and they only see "2 Piece" or "3 Piece" and the sides. But yet, you don't take orders over the phone. I literally have to repeat my full order over the phone. Does this happen to every customer with website orders? Perhaps they never tested their online system or it's a hybrid ordering process? The customer service is delightful but execution is random. The first time my veggie plate was half rice-half black eyed peas. I stood there and watched them only put peas on to-go plate. My last order they called me back however failed to mention they were out of the side I requested. The bag is stapled closed when you pick up so to my surprise it wasn't the side we ordered - the one printed on the receipt, stapledto the bag. I had to drive back, they apologized and I was given another side. But to substitute with no warning? Seemed to be a training issue. Finally, the cost. It's very pricey for the size of each order. The portions are on the smaller side for what you pay. Be prepared to spend upwards $45-60+ for two dinners and dessert for takeout. There's really no immediate competition so the alternative is to go for lunch. We've enjoyed their fried chicken, macaroni & cheese, broccoli rice casserole, Turkey ribs, collards, yams, cabbage, Red Velvet cake and Peach Cobbler. I didn't like the green beans nor black eyed peas with rice. The fried whiting was terribly small and dry for two pieces.Would I recommend? As a treat once a month if this is the only option for soul food. You'll need to find sweet spot for protein and sides. Atlanta has plenty better & less expensive options. Desserts are even $9/each so it adds up if you're just wanting something sweet.

I've checked out peach cobbler cafe twice now since it's close to my house. I have gotten the same thing both times, the fried fish with collards and Mac and cheese. I really like the flavor of the fish. The sides were decent. I think the food is average. This is my new spot to come to when I'm craving some soul food.

I want to like this place and maybe I need to give it a third chance but we walked in just wanting to try the banana pudding after having peach cobbler via Uber eats. I was surprised they serve food here as well. We were met with chaos. Apparently there's a line for food and there's a line for dessert but it just looked like efficient chaos. After standing in the food line for 15 min, no one having said anything to us and me clearly confused, I finally just asked the man making the To-go orders was I in the right line for dessert and he said no. Well then that begs to question if I did want food, who was ever going to take my order? Anyway got in the dessert line and was finally able to ask for two banana puddings. My total was $19. I just want to know what about this was $19?!!! I'd rather have gotten a meal for that price. It was ok but definitely not worth the $9 price tag based on neither portion size or taste/texture. This is my second desert from there, the peach cobbler was too soggy, needless to say so far I'm not impressed.

I went back again and had turkey wings and it comes with rice and gravy. I also had black eye peas which were delicious as well. I also had a piece of chocolate cake. Ot was all so good. I am planning third trip and see if I hit a trifecta! I am going to try the dressing. I would like to see if it comes out of a box, and of they use bread or corn bread.
