PCC is a great grocery store to have near our house. Convenient to access walking, but also has a parking lot for those that drive (and it feels safe / clean). It's not a giant store but they a great selection for the size. Their prepared food section is amazing!!Key callout is that it is $$$.

I gotta give a shout out to this store because when other grocery stories were out of nearly everything during the snow, PCC was up and running with fully stocked shelves. Also, unlike some other stores in the area, PCC had all of their Holiday hours clearly placed on the glass doors/windows. It made it super helpful when walking around trying to find something open! This was my first time in for a specific thing but will definitely be back, the pizza looked pretty tasty!

I enjoy frequenting PCC for what it is and when I want stuff. I've been shopping this local PNW chain since just before the old small & charming Seward Park location closed.A new prominent fixture on a cozy corner right in the CD, this moderate sized natural/organic grocery store is a welcoming & refreshing update with a nice thoughtful art installation overhead. Well stocked, clean and airy are a few of my favorite things. You can't refill bulk spices here (nearest refill is at CC) but there's still plenty of good staples in the packaged & produce sections. My favorite snack is the Kasha Bar that happens to be naturally vegan and quite wholesome, I might add. The garage is decent; be aware that upon exiting the sidewalk is a blind spot and as such approach it very slow or treat as a stop sign.Room for improvement: Similar to the CC location, the parking garage design just seems mediocre. Probably becoming an industry standard, they seem designed for medium to compact vehicles. My favorite pet peeve is incorporating the floor columns into the parking stalls and not even painting them a good safety color. I hope they paint a mural along the empty north wall; that would be sweet.

I was a little surprised that a PCC just opened up at 23rd and Union this week -- after all, there are plenty of other grocery stores within just a mile or two. Will PCC offer something different enough to compete with the Trader Joe's, Safeway, QFC and other nearby Central District stores? The store is on the ground floor of an apartment building, so it has (some) underground parking below. You kind of have to circle the block to find it, it's toward the back and not currently signed. There aren't a ton of spots and street parking is limited at that intersection, so maybe they're counting on foot traffic from nearby? Inside, the store is kind of a mini version of other PCC stores in the area. It has most of the same departments, just a smaller selection. When you walk in, there's a produce section, flowers, and a small bakery area (everything is pre-packaged, no bakery cases). Next are drinks, to-go cold meals, and a deli section with cheese counter. At the back, there's a tiny wine section with a single cabinet of liquor, then most of the back is for the hot bar and meal stations -- pizza, sandwiches, etc. (Those weren't fully up and running yet, but probably will be soon.) There's a small meat and seafood counter, dairy case, and then dry goods on shelves. Oh, and a nut butter/olive oil/maple syrup fill-your-own station! Prices are PCC prices, a buck or two more than a similar product would be at a regular grocery. I probably wouldn't come here for a full weekly shop because $$$$, but I'd stop in if I needed a couple of things right away or wanted to pick up dinner. They do have a small selection of gifts and home items (soaps, novelty socks, wine stoppers), so this would actually be a pretty good place for an emergency hostess gift or to build a food gift basket! Seeing as they've opened during COVID-19, they were able to incorporate that into their build-out, so there are social distancing stickers on the floor and plastic shields at the registers. They clean the shopping baskets and ask shoppers to wear masks, so it feels pretty safe to shop. Overall, this PCC is probably too fancy for me to shop at often, but good for those who want a big selection of organic produce and lots of options for lunch or dinner to go.

I've been to several PCCs in Washington, a member for about 3-4 years, and my experience is similar at all locations roughly 75% of the time.Location: If the location isn't a predominantly "affluent peoples" neighborhood, it will be soon. Nothing says progressive blue state like feigning ignorance to the displacement of BIPOC communities.Prices: I usually double check prices online for items at PCC and Co-ops, you can easily find items marked up by roughly 25-40%. If those profits are used to pay staff, let's see the breakdown in those emails for free products no one likes.Customer Service: Great! Sometimes I get the occasional "forget to ask if I'm a member", but that's to be expected in a neighborhood reaching peak gentrification.Atmosphere: I know you can't judge a company by its patrons, but this is probably the worst part of shopping here. I have to mentally prepare myself each time I go to shop, to be accosted by impatient shoppers. If I had my phone ready to start filming, these fine folks would be very displeased when they discover they have a new nickname on social media. This is especially problematic in PCC metro area parking lots which are so small that impatient drivers/pedestrians quickly resort to name calling, and passive aggressive sneers (probably something that can be addressed).Pros: Other than that 4 stars!!! Love eating organic and local foods! Especially in neighborhoods previously occupied by fast food, liquor, and payday loan sharks, it's nice to be able to get healthy food options without having to adventure miles away.Dear, PCC marketer, please don't respond with a line to contact for resolution. These issues are systemic and not per individual. If you figure out how to bring equity to poor BIPOC neighborhoods without displacing, alienating, or demeaning its previous and current residents you will have achieved something no one else has. Good luck. I hope you figure it out before the next "coming soon" sign.

We rented a house for a few nights a few blocks from this market. I was pleasantly surprised to find great quality items in this store. They have great baked goods, excellent selection of wines, a great selection of prepared foods, and an ample selection of all the grocery store basics and staples. It reminded me of a smaller version of Whole Foods before they were bought by Amazon. Checkout workers were friendly and efficient.

horrible cashiers. walking around and snooping like vultures. I do not recommend making purchases at the self checkout bc they'll assume you're stealing, and they don't even make a living wage, like stop boot licking and stop assuming.

The tall Caucasian gentlemen from the front that wears the too little plaid shirts, lied out loud and yelled that my dog jumped at some children to attack them! Stated other things about my dog that I didn't appreciate ! Then had the manager to follow me in the store so uncomfortable! While I talked to the manager the guy comes up and I interrupts our conversation yelling and called the cops and said we are disrupting shoppers . And she she let him. Omg !! I couldn't believe that. At the end of the day it was racist!
