Paulina Market

Went to visit family in CHI and found this market. What an absolutely great place. Thank goodness I do not live here or I would be twice the size. This is an old school meat market with fabulous offerings . They make all of the old style sausages, jerky, dogs, burgers and multiple prepared meals along with salads and fresh veggies. They also have great sandwiches. Place had a lot of customers but I was served quickly. I would highly recommend this market. Do not miss it!!!

This place has been around 75 years!! I have never been to this meat market before. My mom has and was looking for garlic sausages and she knew they carried them. I was pleasantly surprised by their vast selection of everything you can think of! Beautiful dried meats, beef with amazing looking marbling, good looking poultry and fish. An amazing variety of pre cooked frozen foods!!! I saw one of my beef, stroganoff, lasagna, roast beef, and gravy, braised oxtails etc! They even carried pre made lumpia! I was in heaven!!!!!! They have a deli of course and you can get a sandwich made on the spot. Everything was exceptionally clean!!!!! For you dog owners they have homemade dog food that frozen in the coolers too. Good customer service! They were very attentive. Why the the three stars you ask?? My mom purchased two garlic sausages and smoked ribs. The guy behind the counter DIDN'T put on gloves. He just grabbed the meat with his bare hand. No gloves or nothing!!!! Is that a common practice here? Also when weighing the meat he didn't put and plastic between the meat and machine that weighs the meat! This is a strange and unsanitary practice! Other than that this place was amazing!!!!!!!

Such a neighborhood staple! First off, I was expecting basically a deli shop/butcher shop where you go up to the counter and order whatever meat you want to cook BUT this little gem is more than that! All the employees are so kind and helpful. When you walk in you'll find there's aisles full of pre-marinated meats/fish, pastas, condiments, and even fresh vegetables. The back area are all the butcher shop cuts where you can grab a ticket and order whatever meat/fish cut you want. We decided to stop in for their sandwiches which you can either order in person or through their online portal (it is a $2 surcharge to order online). The meat and cheese was sooo good in more sandwiches. We opted for the Italian (I don't like lettuce or tomatoes so I had neither in my sandwich) and the hot sandwich. Near the sandwich area there is beer and alcohol that is sold.I can't wait to come back to try out more sandwich options and their pre marinated meats.

Great neighborhood spot for made to order deli sandwiches. Have been twice during weekday lunch hours, first time I was the only customer in the store so I was in and out pretty quick and the second it was fairly busy so a bit of a wait. I haven't done any grocery shopping here but the selection looks great if you're planning a cookout.

Such a great neighborhood staple! They always have the freshest meat & produce, as well as your everyday grocery items. Service here is exceptional and I also like their sandwich counter in the back for a quick and affordable lunch. They also have picnic tables outside during the summer for outdoor dining.

We were exploring the Chicago area back in 2019 and stumbled upon this market. We walked in and I was in Beef Jerky heaven!!! The smell of smoked meat lingering in the air.The gentlemen behind the counter were very friendly and amused at us. Amazed because we never saw so much smoked meat in our lived! They treated us politely and got great service from them. We got several different kinds of jerky. Smoked Beef Jerky Maple Chipotle, Smoked Beef Jerky Sweet Bourbon, Waygu Jerky, Salami Stix, & Honey Pork Stix.

Old fashion butcher shop. The service is very slow, but very personalized. All their meat is amazing, the Deli meat especially. Their bologna is homemade! Their sandwich meat is comparable in price to other stores but the quality is so much better.They've recently undergone a renovation that expanded their shopping section. While dry goods are a little more expensive , sometimes it's worth it to have the convenience of one stop shopping.In the renovation, they expanded to include sandwiches, made fresh for with their deli meats. Generally the sandwiches are on the more expensive side but they are also huge. They just added an Italian beef and that too is delicious.

If there is a heaven...I hope it has a Paulina meat market. Their sausages are awesome, the workers are always super helpful, and the sandwich deli rocks. I love this place.

Thought this was a specialty deli. No workers know what products they have, they think they have products that they dont have. They dont know how much their meats are, as they mischarged me. The manager of the store doesnt know what breakfast sausage is spiced with... its salt and pepper.. when i told the manager what was going on he admitted that they said they dont know their products, how much they are, or whats in them, and they dont specialize in anything, and then he hung up on me.

I have been a customer at Paulina Market for YEARS, so it pains me to write that the beef tenderloin (AKA Filet Migon) for $32 LB was mediocre at best.Grilled at room temp they looked perfact, big disappointment.
