Pâtisserie Coralie

On my way to work one morning, I passed by the patisserie. The woman who was working the counter was stepping outside to take a breather since this morning was apparently rather busy. I dropped my work bag off at my office and returned. I have a feeling that giving her time to collect her thoughts meant more than its weight in gold because when I returned, she was very thankful.When I returned, I ordered a café au lait and a croissant. The café au lait was clearly brewed from some good beans because it didn't require any sweetener. The croissant was fresh, still slightly warm. There are several other offerings that I will eventually get around to trying.This downtown location is less congested than the Evanston location. With it being less than a block away, I will indeed return at times, more when the weather warms up.

Nice cute little place near Metra LaSalle and LaSalle/Van Buren CTA line. Coffee was great, ordered a few pastries, it was a Friday morning and pastries seemed cold and possibly a day old. I should have asked to warm up my spinach feta pastry but I didn't. It was tasty but not as fresh as it could have been, same with the almond croissant and chocolate brioche. Maybe I'll try a Tuesday morning when it's busier. cashier was friendly and prompt.

Was staying in a nearby hotel and couldn't stomach the provided breakfast (life's too short) and so we popped down and got a latte, ham/cheese croissant and a slice of quiche. She warmed them a bit - could have used a bit more on the quiche. It was all very yummy. Gal's a bit of a character - but it's an enjoyable experience.

This adorable French cafe is located right across the street from LaSalle Street Station. It used to be a Starbucks but has been under construction for the last few months. Today was the "soft opening" (so keep in mind they are only accepting credit and debit cards for the time being).The young man who took my order was SUPER friendly, answered all my questions with a smile and made charming small talk while he rang me up -- a very pleasant start to my morning!I ordered an iced dirty chai latte with oat milk and, let me tell you, this was hands down the most delicious chai latte I have ever had in my life -- and I'm kind of a tea snob!I also had a leek and Parmesan pastry -- savory, flaky, butter, goodness.My only complaint about this place is that they are going to DRAIN my bank account because I'm going to go every. single. day.

COVID Review Update: Huzzah! Coralie is open again!! They do have limited hours (currently 7:30 AM - Noon), but it's still just as delicious, so that just means they are squeezing the same amount of fabulousness into fewer hours. Please...stop by and grab something before work or during your morning break...local businesses need our help during these challenging times! Stay safe, Yelpers!

I did not have a good experience here at all. When I complained that my pastry had a hair in it, the chef named Matthew came out with attitude saying they are very careful and it's not possible. The man has a very unkept, unsanitary beard. The hair looked just like his. Between his horrible attitude and the disgusting discovery I made in my food, I will not be back and wouldn't recommend it to anyone else.

Great food and coffee. The barista was very helpful. Only two tables though so not much space to dine in but other than that it was perfect!

Wonderful lunch, dessert, chai, service, & atmosphere! Looking forward to sampling more delicious treats!

Genuine french pastries and coffee. And the service is friendly and informative.The decorate is tasteful and artsy too

In a sea of generic coffee and pastry offerings, Coralie is the real thing. When was the last time ordering an espresso was an engaging conversation? Been a while for me - but I'll remember the chat as much as the food. Espresso was excellent - the quality of the beans comes through. The almond croissant was amazing - great texture and flavor. Not a bread masquerading as a pastry.
