Paradise Hawaiian BBQ

We decided to eat at Paradise Hawaiian BBQ while in Phoenix towards the end of our trip because we missed eating "rice"! Because we were there for a convention, it was crowded because they are walking distance from the convention center. We decided to do a phone call order. As i called, i get yelled at over the phone "HOLD ON!" So i hold on... she finally comes back on and says "what do you want to order?" I'm kind of used to this type of yelling, because when you go to a L and L, this is exactly how they talk to. We decide to order 4 plates. We walk over to the little shop and stand in line. The one cashier seemed overwhelmed so another lady comes to help her. We get to the cashier and they know we ordered over the phone, again the lady who took the order was a little rude. So i decided to ask, who's from Hawaii? She said i am. I said wow, that's nice that you decided to open up a restaurant here. Again she was a little standoffish. So we informed her we were from Hawaii, and she looked up at us and her whole attitude was a lot different, very nice. Whether your from Hawaii or not, everyone should receive the aloha spirit. As we waited for our food, we met this guy that sat at the first table doodling on a napkin. I went over and spoke with him, come to find out he was a architect and created some of the buildings in hawaii! How cool is that. Our food then came out, everything was good.

Pretty good Hawaiian BBQ. The ribs were freshly grilled. They smelled and tasted fantastic. The chicken katsu was lightly breaded and very crunchy. The teriyaki chicken was well seasoned and had good flavor. The macaroni salad was well seasoned and surprisingly light. It was lunch hour so there was a bit of a wait but they were very professional. There were about 20 seats available for indoor seating. It did feel a little cramped with everyone placing lunch orders.

Now I somewhat have an idea about the afternoon action of Downtown Phoenix. Well, it took me long enough to figured that out.There are more lunch options in the downtown area. With some good options in the area, I ran across this small Hawaiian dining spot for my final meal in "the Valley of the Sun".You can either order at the counter or if you are in a hurry, order ahead through the Door Dash app. I was looking at the menu above the kitchen. The café has your usual Hawaiian dishes, like the chicken katsu in which I was craving and ordered for lunch for $10.50. The meal also comes with rice, macaroni, and greens. What this place also have is brown rice for $1.50 extra. Not many places offer brown rice, but I just became a fan of the brown grain.There are some tables for dining in. But I took my meal back to my hotel. The chicken katsu meat was thick and cooked nicely. The brown rice was a difference maker with my meal. This was a solid meal.

This is one of my weekly lunch spots. All the guys on the jobsite enjoy this place and the food is great! Service is quick and the place is clean. Def worth a try!

This food was my favorite meal throughout my whole week in Phoenix!!I had never tried Hawaiian food before and I was not disappointed. The flavors were amazing for all of the meats and the meat was so tender. The woman at the counter was very nice as well and the inside was very clean and they had a nice little ice water station. Portions were huge and prices were reasonable. I ordered the paradise special 1 and it had 4 huge helpings of different types of meat to try. All amaziIf I came back to Phoenix this would be my first meal choice!

I was in Phoenix for work and ended up walking by this place. Doesn't look like much from the outside so i pretty much kept passing it by probably like 20 times. Finally ended up dropping in and I must say I am glad i did. Food was pretty good! I liked the meat jun and the mac salad was pretty on point as well! Never would have expected it. If i am in the Phoenix area again I will definitely stop by again.

Food is great. Don't listen to Damian's review he lies. He ate the food and then tried to tell them he didn't receive the correct order.

I'm not sure why I this place got such a low score rating because I thought it was a well deserved 5 stars! I took the risk because the food pictures looked amazing and it really was! I tried the mixed plate and chose kalbi and spicy teriyaki pork. My favorite was definitely the kalbi, meat was so tender and flavorful. I also got to tasted the jun which was fried beef, pretty good. I tried the spam musabi which was good, maybe could've used a little less rice. Overall, it was an amazing lunch and I would definitely go back!

Only ate small portions of the special #1 because food did not taste good for lunch today, did not finish eating the chicken teriyaki or the beef skirt pieces nor the breaded fried pieces of meat because did not taste good, could only eat the small salad and white rice and within thirty minutes had major stomach abdominal pain. First time at Paradise Hawaiian BBQ, never again. I am a person who spends a great deal of time in the outdoors as well as hunting wild game for food consumption so I consider myself to have a strong solid stomach. At this time I do not feel well. Avoid this place. Wish I could put no stars, but for review purposes had to put 1 star for the ill experience. Also female employee working the register is rude, no customer service.

Waited extremely long for my order because of them giving part of my food to someone who ordered after me. When I finally got my food, It was wrong. Don't come here on your lunch break.
