Papasotes

Where to start? Last night I came here with my brother.. we were confused because the directions lead us to belching beaver but we learned that papasotes was in the back. Headed to the back and saw the pop up shop. Asked for 2 carne asada burritosThe guy asked if we were first timers and he said he would take care of us. The place smelt delicious - I got my burrito and headed home. I took my first bite and I was mind blown . The meat was sooooo flavorful. Each bite tasted just like the first one. I was so shocked at how good it was. Towards the last 1/3 of the burrito it started dripping. It was a little greasy but which burrito isn't? The meat was very tender and I had almost no chewy pieces. The cheese was melted on the griddle with the tortilla to give it a nice flavor. Only downside was the hot sauce. Asked for a side of green to try it and they didn't add it. The red sauce wasn't spicy but it added a little flavor. Despite the hot sauce, the burrito was one of the best that I've had in recent days. That says a lot about- I don't really eat burritos as much as I did in my 20s lol

First night I came I ordered 7 carne asada tacos They forgot one so I was still starving but those 6 were good af, I let them know one was missing they made it right the next day with 7 tacos 4 with cheese it was soo delicious the tacos were immaculate! Customer Service was great ! The ambiance was great !Im definitely coming back more often !The manager was A1 solid individual!

Very good Mexican food. Adobada Burrito was phenomenal and enjoyed carne asada fries. Warning that they are very slow. Took over an hour to get food and it wasn't busy. Would go back if wait wasn't so long.

I moved to East village this past year and have been coming here multiple times! I always get their carne asada fries with everything on. It's theeeee best carne asada I've had I think ever. It's creamy sauce and flavor of meat on top of melted cheese into the freshly fried fries really hits the spot

Best Chicken taco downtown, the meat is chopped. Cooked fresh to order. Perfect sauces from mild to spicy Next time will try the the steak. Owner is there cooking it all to perfection outside.

My and boyfriend were looking for a place to grab some dinner since we had a long day. He happened to come across papasotes yelp and after reading the menu we decided to give it a try as it's hard to find a good place that has hot dogs. We order a bit of everything , like a hot dog , tacos a torta and burrito however I was only able to get a picture of the hot dog & wow we were both so satisfied with the taste and the service! Although we didn't finish everything we did take it home so we can enjoy for the next day but highly recommend trying this place out! They did mention to us that their baked potato is the best seller so we want to give that a try next time we go! It was also nice to enjoy a beer there as well as they are stationed in front of a bar in North Park.

As a native San Diegian having a plethora of burritos this was it. Literally the first bite of the carne asada burrito I smiled. This is a pop up restaurant behind belching Beaver, and it has a few benches to seat as well as a little billiards area. The burritos have a cheese crust similar to Puesto and the Carne Asada is well marinated filled with meat and definitely got me full as a big guy. I definitely will be back. The fryer was down so I could not try the Carne Asada fries, but that will be another mission.

The perrote was amazing Im definitely coming back. Right next to Belching Beaver in North Park

Soooo yummy!!!! The adobado is the best!!! Prices have gone up a little but at least it's still a fat burrito

Food was great! You're allowed to sit at the bar connected to papasotes and we went on a Tuesday that had live music and stand up comedy with was a lot of fun! The meet was very flavorful, we got tacos and the bacon wrapped hot dog.
